The way I understand it, they believe a person can be inhabited by a dark spirit. I guess then it's o'key to kill such a person in their mind. Not sure if it's an actual belief or just a convenient excuse to get rid of someone.

From what I have now read in the link posted upthread it was flooded and needed work so the city paid for it and it then became city property.

When the Teton Dam broke in the late 70s. Some parts of Rexburg were hit hard from what I've heard.

This is exactly how I have interpreted this cult-speak phrase. The LDS church does believe a person can be possessed or affected/influenced by evil spirits much like in the New Testament, and that they can be cast out. However, these cases are not all that common, and NEVER NEVER NEVER cause to end someone's life since there is clearly a far better solution Biblicly-speaking

I've known for years Chad is a jerk though I have never met the man. I became involved with this case because an author (not Julie) that published through Chad is a very close personal friend of mine. She's been trying to get the rights back to her books for years, and he delayed and delayed and hemmed and hawwed over it and finally said, sure... you pay me for the books you have in your possession and I'll send you the rights. She paid him, and he's NEVER sent her the legal rights to her books. This has been almost two years now that this has been going on. Technically he's in breach of contract with my friend and she COULD take him to court, but she's the one who first informed me of all this going on in December, and now I keep her up to date because she's going through a divorce from an abusive husband, has 10 total kids, but most are adults, and trying to get a degree so she can have a career to support herself with. But she's been saying for years what a jerk Chad is, and for a long time he treated her like a redheaded step child because he was enamoured of Julie Rowe... and now he's enamored of Lori apparently. So he's been a jerk for a VERY long time...

We know he has controlling behavior and is a manipulative and controlling *BEEP* because of how he treated Tammy. I suspect that's been a pattern since very early in his life.

That is what they called the sub forum at AVOW (all of AVOW is basically a pay forum with one charge to get to the main thing and an additional charge to some subforums). No idea what it stands for, but that is the one where he hung out.

Lol true. And if you listen carefully, it sounds as though her attorney thought what he was asking was ludicrous (the $10k), but had to ask because that’s his job as her attorney.

As a side note, I looked up Jodi Arias since others have mentioned her here and I had never heard of her (yes, I was living under a rock during that time apparently). She had several attorneys try to step down from her case. I wonder if we’ll see the same thing with Lori once she gets back to Rexburg.

I imagine the lawyers will bankrupt her and then because the gov will not allow them to quit, they will file to be reimbursed by the gov.

It might be assumed or understood that Lori may not have been caring for JJ, meds and all ie.. she didn't say she was his mother etc... just that he was her nieces .., it has been said that Tylee was staying for JJ somewhere in another thread, perhaps she was doing a lot of the care and that is why she remained with her mom , for JJ.
