The only Mormon I ever heard of that had a problem with autopsies is one that I believed poisoned his wife so he could be with a hot blond chick. MOO
Lmao

This is speculation again but I wonder if that front room with the mirrors on the wall was a place of prayer and meditation for Lori. The infinity mirrors (reflecting mirrors) seem to be a part of LDS culture (to our LDS members if I am butchering this explanation my apologies and could someone please clarify) and she had yoga mats in her closet (they can be seen on the ground when the officer is clearing rooms. There may have been some spiritual significance to killing him in there. This is just a half-baked theory though. MOO

This is possible. I wouldn't say likely though. I don't think most LDS members would find this combination to be "normal," but unlike Chad, I don't think many people think Lori operated as a "normal" Latter-day Saint.

I haven't seen these "infinity mirrors" in people's houses much at all that I recall; they're not even in ordinary church meetinghouses -- usually just something that temples are known for. And the yoga mats could possibly be related to prayer/meditation, but I think most LDS who have them would use them for yoga (assuming we're differentiating that from prayer/meditation).

I'd never heard of those, even though one side of my family is LDS. I appreciated the post. Looked up the recipe and can't wait to make them!
I never heard them called by that name, always just call them hash brown casserole. They are delicious and even better the second day.

It's possible that DoctorAttorney was right in her claim that Mormons distrusted autopsies sometime in the past. And, MOO, the logic both you and her seem to point to -- that any distrust of cremation may also carry over to autopsies as both involving some kind of mutilation of the body -- is plausible. I just haven't been able to find evidence of this being the actual case.

My sense, and I suspect other LDS members may have a better view than I do on this, is that the LDS preference for burying over cremation derives from a general American traditional cultural disposition. As people started to ask questions later on, then some leaders or others may have argued that burying is somehow better for the body during the Resurrection than cremation. Then that kind of took on a notion that perhaps God prefers burial.

But as you argue, this ultimately doesn't make a lot of sense. Mormons believe that people whose bodies were blown up in war or lost at sea, for example, are in no worse of a position at the Resurrection than those who are buried. There's certainly nothing scriptural related to this. And the church indeed today accommodates cremation based on family desires.
I have been a member for 51 years, I've personally never heard anyone have a problem with autopsies, and without getting too specific as I'm kind of trying to keep anyone who may be reading the thread to figure out who I am exactly, I have LDS medical professionals in my family, both now and in the generation before, I've made two calls this afternoon, and those people have never heard of a problem. I'm not saying unequivocally that my viewpoint is doctrine, lol, but I have had family members that helped with autopsies and never heard of a problem. MOO.

This case has disturbing parallels to the Jacqueline Bouknight case in which a mother refused to disclose what happened to her children. She was jailed for 7 years and finally released without ever providing meaningful information as to her son's whereabouts. In the Bouknight case she claimed to have given the boy to relatives or friends to block the state from putting him with a foster family. Lori's attorney has made the same argument now, saying she did not comply with the Idaho court's order because it would have allowed the state to put her children in foster care. I find myself looking for reassurance that this case will not end in the same stalemate as Bouknight and I come up with the following: 1) There is a very good chance that pressure applied to Chad may cause him to crack. I would think there's a decent chance he could be charged with a conspiracy count alleging he conspired with Lori with respect to the kids; 2) Obviously, all the strange deaths represent a significant difference in this case and one or more charges may result from those incidents; 3) There are likely more people with potential knowledge in this case and, thus, investigators are more likely to solve the mystery with today's forensic & investigative tools; 4) The charges against Lori appear much more serious than any that were leveled against Bouknight. … I'd be interested in anyone else's considered thoughts as to whether or not a Bouknight outcome would be possible here. If so, I hope she is kept incarcerated for at least the 7 years Jacqueline received.

With her current charges, if she is charged with the maximum penalty she could be jailed for 30 years potentially. Given that we all suspect she will be getting charged for other crimes, it is safe to assume that she could be jailed even longer.

I hope they are doubling down, and trying her on every charge they can levy against her. It is possible that she may get away with all of these deaths and the missing kids. However, if enough charges are stacked against her, and maximum penalties applied, it is also possible she could spend the rest of her life behind bars.

The other thing though, is through her actions (or lack thereof), she has made this an international incident, and has put a figurative bulls-eye on her back.

If she does go free, the stress alone may be enough to do her in. Can you imagine, that everywhere you go people give you the stink eye, and ask you constantly "Where are the kids?", those will be the nice ones. She will be looking over her shoulder for the rest of her life. For her sake, she better produce those kids alive, otherwise life is not going to go well for her.

MOO

I’m no longer a member but still have a lot of lds ties. I agree with you, I’ve never heard of an issue with it.

That’s a good way to look at it, I hope that’s the case and she gets caught out. JMO

Can anyone remember if the house had flooring or carpets? I don’t think the blood would come out as easily from a carpet but flooring would clean pretty well IMO.
Pretty sure it was black and white tile.

Possibly because he was the victim of an attempted murder and one of the POI is now trying to regain custody of his children. They (meaning LE) may be walking a fine line between giving BB enough ammunition to keep the children safe without having to prematurely bring charges against her. Purely a theory and MOO.

Makes sense, I think.

I still cannot understand why the judge yesterday delayed the hearing in order to get BB in the room together with MbP, given that BB is claiming that MbP was involved in a failed attempt to kill him and that their children are not safe. That's not even to mention the absurdity of ZP being in the same courtroom, given the wild circumstances and spiritual powers allegedly attributed (by Lori, I think) to her.

If the judge was giving BB's allegations any possible credence at all, that seems like a very strange decision.

Do we know where Chad is currently? Curious as to his last sighting. Anything after the thrift store? I believe today is the final day of his lease, although the rented furniture was returned earlier this week.

IF there is enough evidence to charge MBP with the drive-by shooting of BB, why wouldn't LE/DA go ahead and arrest MBP... And use it as leverage in locating JJ and Tylee?

Are they just waiting to see if Lori confesses on her own OR is there a lack of evidence against MBP in the drive-by?

OR maybe there will be just big fat federal charges filed against everyone soon? (And how soon exactly?... I mean, y'all know I have no patience waiting for info on JJ and Tylee... It's disgusting that it has continued for months).:(

Not sure if this was determined. I think BBs lawyer asked for an evidentiary hearing. Was that granted??

I checked all the podcast listings for the ;) Voldemort ;) podcast group in an effort to see when they could have met through that avenue.
Preparing A People Podcast Network | Himalaya

Per DailyMail, yes, that's incorrect. There is no podcast listed in December 2017 that features Chad or Lori, and definitely not together.

I see near the bottom (earliest podcast on the list Episode 001 on July 12, 2017 of the titular podcasts) the owners and co-host CD is introduced. Chad is always included in the episodes as a Co-Host or with his full name.

Every time hosts or speakers that are part of the podcast are mentioned in the synopsis, they are by first name except their introductory podcast. LV is introduced as Lori Vallow for the first "Time to Warrior Up Podcast - Introduction" podcast on Dec 4, 2018. All later times she is mentioned as Lori.

I think it is likely that the two met at some point before December 2018 and through interactions with the podcast group. There is a possibility that they met in person when Chad was in Mesa, AZ on July 13, 2018 for a conference (I've shared this info earlier: ID - ID - Joshua Vallow, 7, & Tylee Ryan, 17, Rexburg, Sept 2019 *mom, arrested* #18). He was also in Mesa for the November 2018 Event so there's a possibility that was when they met. Here he is in the audience in white shirt and tie.

(source: himalaya.com url above).

Do I know exactly when he and Lori met? No. But it was definitely before Tammy died in October 2019, Chad said as much to the landlord in November 7 conversation in Kauai. It's possible to have been before July 2018. It's possible to have been at the "Zions Camp" in 2017 (The podcasts about the camp started in August, camp shortly before). There were reports from sundry sources that Chad and Tammy were at a camp in July 2017 (before Aug 21, 2017 eclipse) and Lori was there.

Your awesome timeline confirms that:
"June 2017 – Family members say Lori and Chad first met sometime around June 2017 (Daily Mail).

Summer of 2017 – Chad meets author and podcaster, MG, for the first time after he speaks at a campout in Northern Utah. MG invites him to speak in her hometown of Mesa, Arizona (Chad's Forward for MG's book)."

If MG invited him to the speaking event in Mesa, my post linked above shows the connection there in July 13, 2018. I'm not sure about previous dates. We know that Lori became involved with the podcasting group with MG and JasonM.
So I am obsessed with always looking in the background of pictures for details and mostly because I think one of my sisters could be sitting in one of these audiences and several on my husbands side who are nit wits and would belong to something like this..If you look back and a little left it is the unnamed podcaster who records in her mini van I think. MOO

Speaking of that home, does Chad still own it? Do his kids live in it?
Supposedly two of his children, and one spouse of one.

I'm sure you're both right, as there's a lot of stuff to keep straight here; but aren't LE/other TPTB sure that the shooter was driving Tylee's Jeep? I must admit I'm not as up on my Alex as I am on everybody else's movements, as I was mentally resistant for a long while to the "Alex as hit man" movement since it seemed too complicated and dire; but who else would have been driving the Jeep?

I hear ya. Is law enforcement absolutely sure it's the same Jeep? Many threads ago, there was a lot of confusion regarding what kind of Jeep it was. Someone made a mistake somewhere and called it a Cherokee instead of a Wrangler. So yes, it's a Wrangler, but is LE sure it's the same one?

For 5 years a lived next door to a beautiful Mormon Family and among other Mormon Families in the town. They were the nicest people ever, very helpful when I was sick and never once pushed their beliefs on me. I have been in many Mormon homes and never have seen a room of mirrors....and they loved to take their new friends on tours of their homes...every room. This is a new one on me....I will ask some of my friends. I have learned there are Mormons and then there are other Mormons with somewhat different views.
I have never ever heard or seen of the mirror thing in houses or churches, just temples. MOO (I'm talking, never ever, lol)

That is a very good question. He's probably (or soon to be) in a hotel, at least for several days. LV's extradition happens next week.

My first inclination is to say that it wasn't. But I'm not as sure on this as I'd like to be. Maybe it's still a possibility.
