An Idaho Falls BB company tells us they’re trying to work w/ Lori Vallow’s reps. There are obstacles. - Vallow needs to prove she has $1M in assets - Bond company’s insurance needs to assess risk - $100K (10%) needs to be wired to account of bondsman which could take 24 hours.

Just quoting myself (well, Justin Lum!) - could Lori have assets of any worth? I know she didn’t get CV’s life insurance, but was there anything they owned together - any property, the business etc that went to her? It doesn’t sound like Chad has much, even with Tammys insurance.

With that said, Lori Vallow is not expected to be posting bail overnight. But once again, Madison County Sheriff’s Office confirms she is trying to secure a bondsman.

I’m torn about their motive. Do they really believe what they espouse? I think LV is a manipulator, using her ‘powers’ over men to get her way. I look at CD and get the impression he couldn’t fix his own lawn mower if it failed to start and he’s the next target in her game? What do you think? MOO
I think CD is as manipulative as LD, just in a different way. His unassuming demeanor is a disguise. We ready know that he was the type to go slinging his priesthood around to control his wife and possibly his kids. He has to be a masterfuI one if ALL five of his kids are supporting him, cutting off chunks of family, when there are actual children missing. Blows my mind!
MOO :)

I’m taking A91’s advice and going to bed. All on this thread are awesome. This is just a suggestion, but some music by Steve Roach will calm anyone down. He’s an amazing ambient musician. MOO

I have to say, I do love the late shifters here!! I'm up late thinking about this case most nights anyway! Glad to know I'm not alone!! DARG for life, lol. :p ;)

I didn't think so. It seemed to me her and CV always rented. Jmo

Thanks, I wasn't sure!
That's why I didn't name it, or even her!!

But I am glad you mentioned it @Hrh_LadyJ
I found it easily by Googling CR name and the most well known funding site on the internet
Great option for those of us who wanted to do something, anything, to support CR

I think it's still tied up in Probate. Technically she could get something from CV's estate I believe.... They weren't officially divorced?! I had a nightmare with this and my dads 4th wife... Won't get into it though.

Tylee I think had some money from JR,(IIRC it was something like 75k) and I think it was prob. held in a trust until she was of age.... makes me wonder, she disappeared not long before her birthday (was she turning 17 or 18).... I wonder if Lori was executor or had any access to that?

I was thinking CD would be hitting up his rich pal, CP whom he's been staying with and is his "greatest defender".... AVOW does tell it's members to hoard cash, so...

MOO.

After several calls to bail bonds companies, we’re calling it a night. A bondsman in #IdahoFalls tells us they’ve heard from #LoriVallow’s reps but she doesn’t have enough collateral $1M. They’re trying to work w/her but it will take time.

We called 5 BB companies, most said they don’t have a bond that size immediately available. They tell us it would be highly unlikely-though not impossible-that #Vallow can post bail tonight. All said, “they want to keep her in there.”

One bondsman told us the avg. bail for them is $200K. Another said they once had a wire transfer of $50K and it took ~24hrs to come through. A $100K may take longer.

Another thing re bond, it’s likely going to cost LVD to wear the monitor. Maybe even pay a setup fee and in some cases may have a home base station that costs even more.
Just gave a smirk when I liked your comment.

I think it will be very interesting to see where Lori goes, who she talks to, and what she does. This most important thing is to have her in Idaho when the autopsy reports come out, having her in Hawaii would have been a nightmare. I think today went really well, about what was expected, and now things can go forward. I love that the FBI has a mobile command unit in Rexburg, so things are percolating bigtime. MOO
Thanks for the reminder!! I would have appreciated a better performance on the part of the prosecutor, and felt disgruntlement after the session in court... ... but... as I have been thinking all along "at least she will eventually be back in Idaho"....."at least she's on her way to idaho"....."at least she's now in Idaho... so am feeling better thinking about "percolating bigtime""

After watching the hearing, it appeared toward the end that her attorney expected she would bail out. Lori didn't represent to her own lawyers that she had more funds/deeper pockets did she? I hope the feds turned Chad before the hearing. (can't think of another reason he showed up, unless she has something on him/blackmail. He should be well represented by now and can't image HIS attorney saying - yeah, show up for Lori, because that's in your best interest at this time. Or, maybe he is a stupid dufous and didn't listen to the advice of his lawyer.

Does anyone know if Lori is likely getting updates on the progress securing a bail bondsman, or has she been sitting in her cell for the last 6-7 hours expecting to be sprung any minute? In movies people always seem surprised when they’re told they made bail, suggesting it all happens behind the scenes w/o their knowledge—at least in Hollywood’s version.

I don’t mind at all the thought of her sitting in her cell getting more and more worried that maybe Hubby decided not to post bail after all. I would love for her to sit there all weekend just fretting. I bet it wouldn’t take long before she starts to get mad at Chad. And IMO any wedge that can be driven between those two means a better chance of finding out what happened to Tylee and JJ.

I know the odds are against it, but my faith in humanity will be restored if every bondsman in the state decide :

Uh, no. Don’t think so. Not gonna do it. Not this time. Don’t care how much $ I could make. Where are the kids, Lori?

Yep, you guys beats playing scrabble online any time!

I’m even less inclined to go to sleep tonight because I know when I wake up it will probably be to the news that she’s made bail. Then I’ll be cranky all day.

God I REALLY hope your right!!!
I'm just not sure how important the "mission" is to LV now that she has had a taste of Jail... And I worry with her psychology she will certainly consider it... not just for selfish motives, but if indeed she does think the World is ending in a few months, what's the point, is she near enough to the 'New Jerusalem Tent City'?.... I never worried about her running if she got out, too much media following her every move.
MOO.
Listening to idaidaidaho ... the belief system within this group, and similar ones as well, i assume is just so deep. They will be able to keep their convictions front and center. I think that belief system is getting them through this. Along with the honeymoon anyway.

Gotcha, Thank you, I'm still massively behind in that thread! This may have been answered there too, but I wonder what their relationship to LV is? Pretty prime seating!
My guess is that they are lawyers...

I am finding some satisfaction that Kay has 1 million dollars from CV's life insurance and this is the exact amount that LV needs to bond out of jail. I don't think that would be lost on LV.

"5 kids, no money and a 1 million dollar bail bond to pay and his sister gets everything"

Oh my goodness! Did their funds get donated to Lori and Chad for bail money and legal fees? It may be a far fetched thought but it did run across my mind.
My stomach sunk as I read your words.... I feel this is quite possible, myself...

  • #219
Pleased it is 1m - think that is an appropriate amount.

I guess they will have to put out the begging bowl for enough assets to cover the 1m, even if Chad can come up with the 100K cash

My main worry is she might use her time out of prison to destroy evidence and obstruct justice.

Looking forward to filings in the substantive proceedings so we can see LE's hand more clearly.

I guess this trial may not happen until next year?
