Ha. Maybe he doesn't know. Maybe someone should send the prosecutor that info? But he had many stronger arguments than an unpaid property tax for $686.73 anyway. Like the fact they lied to LE officers and fled and left all their furniture in their apartment after the welfare check on JJ. The prosecutor brought up that they fled when police didn't even have a warrant for their arrest-- they were simply checking on a child's welfare at that time. If they will move to another state to avoid a simple question of "where is your child?" then they will flee for certain when they know an arrest is coming. I'm still convinced that they were planning to fly to Mexico in late January but Dateline videoing them made them choose not to take the shuttle bus. I think Maui was actually a test trip to see if they could sneak away. They found out fast that people knew them everywhere and police were alerted when they got on the plane to and from Maui. I hope it stays that way if they are free together again. MOO.

I'm not not just thinking the unpaid taxes. If he has a mortgage plus unpaid property taxes, that puts his property value pretty much at zero for collateral. Plus, the bunk about a home in Rexburg. Well, maybe lol. Jmo

Adam Herbets on Twitter

The people that started (Pathway to Zion) started it for Chad and I and other dreamers and visionaries who were being persecuted... I know, as of a month ago, (Hector Sosa) was still talking to Chad." Hector Sosa Jr. has defended Chad Daybell on other online message boards.
In the documents posted by Adam Herberts, HS says it is the Energy Healings and Multiple Mortal probations that are the problems and not OK with the church. This is apparently why JR was Ex'd, according to her. IMO, Chad and Lori are pushing that too.

This is a great picture that Deseret put up. She is directly in front of Colby in that first picture. (you can see a small portion of his wife)
How as a mother do you walk past your child like that? I will never understand it. I really feel for CR :( JMO

No, this list is specifically of all people in the county with unpaid property taxes. Here is the page where you can get to the PDF: Fremont County Treasurer
Click on "Unpaid Tax Listing". This list was not updated with Chad's name until Feb 2020. See the rules under "Tax Collection" from that page linked above (BBM) :

Tax notices are mailed as early as possible in November each year. The tax notice is for the CALENDAR YEAR. All taxes on the first property roll are due Dec. 20 without late charges or interest. Tax may be paid in two halves; first half due Dec. 20 and a grace period on the second half until June 20 of the following year.

Any portion of a tax can be paid at any time, but if there is a remaining balance of the first half not paid by Dec. 20, there is a 2 percent late charge applied immediately and 1 percent per month interest beginning Jan. 1 of the following year on the remaining balance. If the second half is not paid by June 20, there is a 2 percent penalty and 1 percent per month interest from Jan. 1, NOT JUNE 21.

There are two other rolls for taxes. One is the subsequent roll, which is mailed out as soon as possible after the closing of the Board of Equalization the first Monday of December. The tax is due on this roll 30 days after mailing or as stated on the tax notice, with late charge and interest if delinquent. The missed property roll is sent the first part of February as soon as the BOE is closed.
Ok, got it.
I was kind of surprised the Prosecutor didn't bring up the unpaid property taxes in the argument against bail, tbh. Jmo
But it's not Lori's debt. I still think it could have been mentioned though.

In pleading for lower bail it was mentioned she may have already planned, or booked the flight to go away (I don’t think so) but then prosecutor Wood mentioned that when they left suddenly they left the apartment with most of their stuff remaining behind. I thought that comment was pretty damning. He forgot to mention she was still absconding from the previous subpoena, tho fortunately the judge remembered.

Yeah, I like this judge so far. I think he had to lower the bond to $1 Million, to be fair. Idaho law apparently doesn't allow Lori to be held without bond based on her current charges. But setting it at $1 Million still shows he recognizes the extraordinary circumstances behind the charges and sees her as a flight risk. Murder suspects are usually given $1 Million bond in Madison county. Setting the bond at the "murderer level" means the judge recognizes Lori's alleged connection to 3 homicide investigations (which could be 5 homicides if we include the missing children). The prosecutor argued quite effectively the reasons Lori was a flight risk and the judge heard it. The only thing I wish the judge had done differently is to include that Lori must turn in her passport. The prosecutor requested that but I didn't see it in the conditions of her bond. Lori claims she doesn't have a passport, but I still think it should have been a condition of bond. MOO.

You don't think Chad will be using anything and everything as collateral for her bond? Jmo

Never thought of Maui as a test trip... makes sense.

So this two day hearing scheduled for 18th/19th, where the prosecutor has to lay out the evidence for the charges, what happens? Is this a judge decision or a jury, I'm assuming it's likely the judge, and then is it set down for trial, and is her bail again reconsidered? Too many questions I know, but is this why her attorney wanted one of the charges separated out, because Lori has no hope of defending it? I'm sure I have other questions but my mind's gone blank. No doubt it'll come back to me as soon as I hit post. :)

My take on Lori is that she is a malignant narcissist. I dont think she actually believes in any of this end times stuff or that she is a god, but thoroughly enjoys that other people (Chad & Co) do think that way of her. I think she was ready and willing to join forces with anyone who would tell her she was special and who was willing to do her bidding. I seriously doubt she believes any of it truly.

People like Lori thrive on chaos and drama and when there isn't enough naturally, they manufacture it. While I dont think she believes she is a god in the way these cult members do, I do think she likes to believe that she is far superior to everyone else (including Chad - he is merely the "host" and she is the "parasite") and that she has the "right" to murder anyone she chooses.

I do think Chad is more likely to believe all that heretical nonsense and he seems to me like a big doof who probably never expected a woman as "pretty" and "charming" as LV to want him. Most victims of Narcissists dont realize they've become hosts until it is far too late, as they're too busy being charmed, validated and love-bombed by the Narc.

*snipped by me*

Yeah, she is definitely loving the attention, just like FCA did, and I think your big doof analysis is spot on. Although, i do find his "teenager of the month" award more disturbing than anything. o_O Perhaps some folie a duex going on here as well.

Did you notice how she turned away from the prosecutor when he was speaking yesterday, as if to shield herself from his negativity with her wall of hair? That was... interesting behavior. I think she has 'bail jumper' or perhaps 'spirited away' written all over her. MOO

I just started reading these threads about 2 weeks ago and I am sure this has been discussed, but does anyone know if LD still has any relationship with her parents? TIA.

I wonder who the witness is who is being flown in from Hawaii. A cell mate?? :D It could be the landlord saying no kids and pets.

That other question I have keeps popping into my head and then disappearing just before I type it. I hate when that happens.

Anybody know the answer to this please.. if the family court gives custody of JJ to Kay Woodcock and she doesn't produce him can be be arrested for kidnapping? Thanks

It doesn't paint a picture of a man with strong ties to the community, does it? Maybe it can be used for arguing a high bond for Chad, after he is arrested too. He moved out of that house the day after Tammy's funeral and reportedly told his kids he wanted to sell the house. But the kids talked him out of it. This info is from an insider posting here. Tammy probably paid all the bills, including their property taxes and Chad didn't bother to check on things like taxes since he doesn't care about keeping the house. I wonder if his kids who are living there are aware of the tax being late?

MOO.

  • #274
But on a positive note, that probably means that he doesn't have a mortgage on the house. (If he does then I'm going to bet if they didn't pay the property taxes that he's way behind on mortgage payments as well.)

MOO
If they use a bondsman Chad can kiss goodbye to $100k depending on the fee, as we have discussed. If he can privately raise the collateral, then he would only lose the 10% if she absconded. That's a lot to lose, especially if more charges could be pressed. MOO.

I personally interacted with Hector Sosa in comments on YouTube. He was smug and arrogant (which is the theme among this lot) and 100% believing this was about custody. Refused to say if he actually knew the kids were safe though. All MOO.
I agree based on his comments I have read too IMO. It's funny to see them all worried about themselves and scurrying around to hide their tracks TBH. An unwelcome spotlight for them.

All "inquiring minds" want to know!!!! I do not believe we have any verified insider tell us anything. However, Lori's sister, who lives in the same town as the parents WAS at the custody hearing for Lori's neice, MBP.

I just had a thought that maybe they will give a paid interview to MSM to help with these costs. I would not put it past them and she seems to lap up all the attention. MOO

I'm thinking April. The landlord would likely just need to give a written statement & did Lori have a cellmate in HI?

All proceedings will be before the judge until the trial. Our system requires the prosecution to present enough evidence to convince a judge that there is a basis for the charges being made. The prosecution has to put on enough evidence to satisfy that finding and in this case it will not be difficult. Once the judge affirms there is enough evidence to support all the charges he will enter a scheduling order for the next steps in the proceedings. Bail can always be reconsidered on motion of either side, but it is unlikely to change now unless some significant new information is brought to the court's attention.
