Just spoke with Melani and Ian Pawlowski via Zoom for 90 minutes. No questions were off limits and they answered everything I asked.
Melani: "When Tylee and JJ show up and are here again, I don't know if people will even believe it."
They might believe that Justin is close with Brandon. They said they would talk to another reporter from his station.RSBM
I wonder why they are talking to Nate but came out strongly against ever talking to Justin?
Or was that only JC and SS who didn't seem to ever want to talk to Justin?
He did object, sort-of. He mentioned to the judge that producing the kids was "the remedy" and therefore prejudicial. I'm not a lawyer, not sure what that means, but it's near the end of the hearing.Another random thought today...At the bail reduction hearing the prosecutor asked that producing the kids be a condition of bail. The odd part is that Means did not objecct to that. I hesitate to read too much into that. He could have not objected because he saw his goal at the time to get Lori out of jail no matter what it took. And I don't want to get into the pointless character assassination about his competence but I also have to consider that his lack of objecting to that condition might have something to do with his lawyering skills.
Think about it. What if the judge said "Fine, I see good cause to reduce bail to $1 on the condition the kids are turned over to Rexburg police." What would he have done then?
I'd try to find that moment in he hearing but honestly, it would be too painful to watch that trainwreck again.
Never o'clock.Melani: "When Tylee and JJ show up and are here again, I don't know if people will even believe it."
Will that happen before or after Jully 22?
I can't help but think that, if Melani's ex didn't fight for his kids and ended up getting killed in that drive-by, we would have another set of kids nowhere to be found now.
Yes, where was Lori? Los Angeles area-we now know that Chad's kids knew her. Las Vegas-as you pointed out @Diddian it's only a 4 hour drive to meet up with Chad in LA and fly to Hawaii
Hm. Thanks for this great post!
Nooo -- I did not know this. Is it something in settings that I need to do ?? I would love this feature LOLYou know you can share your Prime account without the other person being able to see what you buy, right?
I am at a disadvantage because I work with live patients, but I agree with much of what you said. In live patients when I get a result of a potassium of say, 7, that comes from the lab as “critical”!! And the first question is to ask if the blood was sitting around before it went to the lab, because old cells will ‘open up’ and release potassium giving a false result. The intervention is to draw another stat and track it so it gets to the lab stat too. I agree the dehydration alone would account for the elevated creatinine (although the sodium was fine, and ems likely gave if fluids). It’s abnormal but not going to kill anyone that day. The heart fibrotic changes are typical for long-standing untreated hypertension. The atherosclerotic disease just means he was at risk for a heart attack, not a PE.Riverdoc is much more astute and a Doc, right? I worked under folks like Riverdoc. My input would be just that. Riverdoc can validate or explain if I'm off in my thinking.
The elevated potassium can sometimes occur as a false positive if the cells in the blood draw rupture. The ruptured cells will leak their potassium and taint the results. Generally another draw is done to confirm a true reading, but that may not have been done in AC's case. Also, dehydration can elevate the potassium, and that may be a possibility considering his creatinine was elevated at 1.6. Creatinine is a measure of how well the kidneys are functioning. The kidneys work harder if there is dehydration. I relied strongly on that lab when doing contrast studies in CT. So, that is what I am guessing about the elevated potassium.
The multiple PE folci is the most common way that PE presents. It generally isn't just one. The single clot will fragment into smaller clots which then appear in different areas of the lung vessels. The lack of clots in the legs my be because they left no residual evidence behind, particularly if they traveled days before to the lungs.
What I found concerning were the large cavernous hemangiomas in the liver. In very rare cases, these hemangiomas can cause blood clots that lead to PEs. But it isn't common, so it is a small possible cause of the PEs and why there was no evidence of clots in the legs.
He definitely aspirated. I'm just not sure how much that may have contributed. (Riverdoc, what do you think?)
The lack of the anion-gap is concerning. Like RiverDoc said, that was a missed part of the puzzle, and I can't imagine why it wasn't done.
It's not unusual for a career truck driver to suffer a pulmonary embolism (as well as atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease).
But, on the day following the day TD's body is exhumed? What an extraordinary coincidence.
Administered by EMS for presumptive OD? Or in the ER?? Just a GUESS.
(Note: I have no idea whether EMS carries this where Alex was located or what their protocols might be, so again...a GUESS about one reason he might be positive.)
WHY would emergency health personnel administer Narcan to someone who has had symptoms for a week prior to becoming unconscious? What would that do to a person who is suffering a pulmonary embolism?

Just spoke with Melani and Ian Pawlowski via Zoom for 90 minutes. No questions were off limits and they answered everything I asked. We are splitting the interview into three parts (for video processing purposes) and will post it without any edits starting tomorrow.
From the interview:
Perhaps his primary target was Alex, and therefore any surveillance on Lori was "intermittent?" Just thinking out loud, I really don't know. How do we think a Gilbert, AZ officer (this is not the PI) would do "intermittent" surveillance in ID? Surely he wouldn't fly out every few days? Or drive back and forth. Was this surveillance electronic? Otherwise, it seems he would go to ID and his surveillance would be almost constant. Do they call it intermittent because he slept and used the restroom?
Also, if they were surveiling Lori beginning in November, wouldn't they have known she flew to Kauai the first time? Maybe they said intermittent because they lost track of her?
To me, she looked very relaxed. To me, she comes across like all of the women in he family, i.e, "this is no big deal, it's all coincidence or misinformation" etc etc. Ian, on the other hand, gave her a whole bunch of side eye. To me, he looked like he was processing what she was saying and in a couple cases, looked like it was the first time her was hearing some of the info. Also, we learn that Melani called Alex the day he died about some issues in her NEW marriage and that Alex counseled her. These two might not make it.MOO. What I observed was two completely terrified people who IMO looked as if they were part of a "hostage video."
MOO. They feel threatened, and not by/from LE or the media.
But did Chad's kids know her at the time of the CA vacation? Didn't one of his sons declare that "my dad met a widow and got married"?. and something like "he makes mistakes, but he's a good guy"

I respect your observations. It is so interesting how two people see different things. I was struck by how breathy she spoke, and a lot of word salad. IMO. I also re-read the IP documents and if you read those, and watch the interview, it was like two different Melanie's. IMO.
