Yeah. Didn't Melani herself tell Ian "sometimes kids go dark"? Jmo

Her the end of world date is in two months, when it passes she will realize that she has been left behind.

That will bite. Jmo

ITA @Bellat! Also, Chad had told his parents (Parents!) that Lori was an empty nester, so probably not doing much to find a place where he could use his insurance money to make sure that no one could find them.
Plus Rexburg LE said that Lori had told people that Tylee had died years ago. YIKES

Melani Pawlowski speaks about her childhood, family deaths and her sudden Las Vegas wedding

I found that interview pretty benign. Not any hard questions but she was pretty well spoken. No spin, no verbal gymnastics, etc. everything sounded sincere. The only observation is that interview likely took place in an attorneys office and it appeared there were attorneys on each side of them. Let’s get to some harder questions please.

Looking forward to Tortoise's transcript. Hint, hint. And TIA!

She went out of her way to paint her father as the bad guy (and Alex as a saint). It's probably because he took Brandon's side in her custody battle and likely when it comes to the missing kids as well.

From the interview:

1) Melani says she moved to Idaho in November and it was a coincidence that Ian lived right across the street from her! She placed an ad on a dating site and lo and behold, he saw it! Not buying it.

2) Melani says Alex had been courting Zulema for months, really wanted to marry her, and she was waiting for the "right time." Also, she is having a hard time dealing with his loss.

3) Melani says it was a total coincidence that she and Ian decided to get married the day after Zulema and Alex. They basically bumped into each other in Vegas. Not buying that either.
Wow. Sounds like a cheap movie.

One step at a time. I imagine there's a lot of fear and people have been reticent to open up and share the things they know for various reasons. I know @RexburgSleuth had some concerns before he chose to become verified and share the things he knew. I see this as a stepping stone and hopefully as more people open up and share the things they know (whether for or against certain parties) others will find the courage to follow suit. I'm hoping this brings us that much closer to finding out what really happened and where those kids are.
I feel they are only doing this as part of "the plan" and are in cahoots with CD and possibly LD attorney to help aid the defense.
I find it hard to believe anything that comes out of MP mouth but I will gladly eat my words if I am wrong and it helps find JJ and Tylee.

What does Melani do for a living?

Oops. Never mind, I see East Idaho News provided the transcript.

From the interview, Melani:
1) 'Alex and Zulema had been dating for several months, and kind of Alex was very ready to marry Zulema. But she was a little bit like, you know, 'I'm gonna wait till I get an answer, and I know I'm supposed to be with you, Alex, but I'm gonna wait till it feels like the right time'.
BBM, does this sound odd just to me?
2) 'When I was 6, I can remember the night my dad took me and said, “We’re going to go get gas,” and we never came back. We left my mom there, and he turned the power off. He took all her credit cards, her planner and just left her there. She was really sick to the point she couldn’t really take care of herself. We hid out in a hotel for a couple months, and that started a nasty custody battle between them.'
'I heard all manner of things about the Coxes, but my dad kind of cut off communication with them.'
'She passed, and my dad didn’t let me talk or see any of that side of the family. I didn’t know why other than he was saying all sorts of things about them.'
'I didn’t know that my dad had been telling everybody, “Hey, your mom died of anorexia,” and she was mentally ill and basically made himself look like a hero.'
'That’s similar to what’s happening in my family court case – the same pattern. I think we go through these things to learn experience and seeing that same exact thing happened now in my life, it’s too ironic it’s the exact same patterns.'
So this happens in Cox family all the time (nasty custody battles, hiding children, sanity questions)... What makes these husbands run away and hide with the kids? Is this all just because they all select the wrong men (Lori was badly married 4 times, Melani at least once, her mother as well)?..
3) I think it's worth noting that Melani not once said that light/dark/cult innuendos about their beliefs were lies
4) I wonder if she was asked about why she wanted rapid divorce with BB after having 4 children together. Shouldn't she, as a faithful woman, try to work on their relationships "until death separates"? Can't imagine how a woman with 4 kids could let her marriage go so easily

Three things:
  1. I appreciate that they filled in a few gaps....but there are some big missing pieces in that story.
  2. Ian's body language was so interesting.
  3. I wonder how often Ian is available to his children because he is living a very long ways from them.
Hopefully they left something on the table for the next two segments.

So, as the saying goes, motive - motive - motive when solving a crime. And I think most here would agree that money - and in particular, life insurance proceeds - were a prime motivator in the murder of Charles Vallow and TD and the attempted murder of BB and TD.

Clearly Lori knew of the policy on Charles as she tried to collect on it several days after his death. I'm willing to bet MBP knew of BB's policy as well.

As for TD, reports are that Chad increased the insurance on her in the time leading up to her death. Again, motive, wrapped around Lori and Chad's desire to be together.

Another motive, IMO, was custody. In MBP's case, her divorce was almost final and she would have had at least shared custody with BB. Lori's divorce hadn't started but her being awarded custody of JJ would have a been, IMO, a tough fight. So much easier to just have them out of the picture.

That's why I wonder why the postings about the life nsurance got such negative pushback. They go to the heart of all of the deaths in this case - and probably the disappearance of the kids. It's all a valid discussion.

Do you have any thoughts about the cannabis, caffeine, alcohol and I think there was a barbiturate in his blood too?

READ: The medical examiner and toxicology reports on Alex Cox | East Idaho News
The report lists what was included in their tox panel, which has some weird inclusions (like gabapentin, why? That’s not terribly lethal or illicit) and weird exclusions (no amphetamines? No opiates?) but it is likely their local usual panel. It is only positive for caffeine, the other substances you name were negative for their “cutoff” range. The weird part about the caffeine for me is that is not very Mormon. My Mormon friends are pretty strict about the no caffiene rule, though they might be more relaxed on the hot beverages (who can resist hot chocolate? Jesus will understand). Although Lori doesn’t seem to abide by the Mormon in good standing attire expectations, so maybe they imbibe in caffeinated beverages too?

The history of MP's family as described by MP is interesting. There is almost as much that can be read between the lines as what is expressly stated. Those parts are MOO.

Her parents marry and have her, but mom is very sick and MP spends a lot of time with Mom's family while Dad travels. (We know this started at birth, but don't know how long it continued as MP doesn't mention how old she was when her family moved to Seattle. We don't know how many of her first six years were spent in close proximity to her mother's family vs. how many with just her own family in Seattle.)

Dad takes a job a few states away from MP's maternal family. (He puts distance between his family and his wife's extended family. Raises the question: Did Cox family dominate, rather than just help? Were there serious boundary issues? Note that those would be consistent with family conditions that might cause eating disorders in the female children, as MP's dad says her mother suffered - something she also says the Cox family denies. But DVT can occur in those suffering anorexia.)

When Melani is 6, Dad abandons his wife and he and MP live in a hotel. (They go into hiding for a couple of months; she actually describes it as "hid in a hotel." What was the threat? Did Cox family boundary issues follow them to Seattle?)

A nasty custody battle follows, but MP grows up with her dad and eventually also her stepmom, so apparently her dad won full custody. (This is not typical, especially back then, for a family court to grant the father full custody. There must have been plenty of evidence that he was a more fit parent than MP's mother was, even with help from her own family - or maybe even especially. I suspect the Cox family attempted to dominate and abused court processes as Lori did in her custody battle with Joe Ryan.)

Although her dad permits her to travel to say goodbye to her mother, who dies in her early 30's in a hospice, he does not allow her to see or visit with any of the Cox family. (Her dad won't permit MP's visit to say goodbye to her mother to be manipulated by the Cox family to regain access to MP.)

At a computer at her high school (not at home), 15 yr-old MP googles one of Lori's brothers and reestablishes a relationship with the Cox family and they fill her in on all the nasty things her dad has done to keep her distant from them. (MP goes behind her dad's and stepmother's back to reengage with the Cox family on her own. I wonder if the Cox family members were defying court orders when they engaged with MP in this way. They certainly must have been doing so when they were saying alienating things about her father.)

In all her bible studies, MP must have skipped over the story of Adam, Eve, the serpent, and the tempting fruit.

IMO, the brainwashing of Melani started LONG before Chad was ever in the picture.

The report gives a reference range for potassium level in the vitreous as <15, and they reported out the result as 13. So wasn't his result normal? (With the caveat that it was normal for that specimen using that collection procedure in that lab.)

Those were all tested but the values you see in that report are the lowest level at which the lab would report out a result. Anything below that wouldn't be reported. They don't seem to be his results -- I believe it's info from the lab about how they would ordinarily report out a result.
WHOA!!! Good eye, Finding JoLee!!! I went back to look at the original report based on your post, and yep, the reading was 13 (which would be horrible in a living person) and I hallucinated it as 25 in my haste’s to read through this long awaited report. Yep, per their lab for dead people reference ranges, does not raise a flag unless it is >15. Wonder if there are lab values out there from the accepting hospital ER from when He was first given emergency care?? Thank you FindingJoLee. I think I will sit back and lurk now
