It was under Lori Ryan is what got me. I'll be back in a sec and edit I need to look at something.

ETA her and Charles got married in 2006. Her name should have been changed to Vallow on her DL. That's why I'm wondering if she's been maintaining more than one DL somehow.
Here you have to update your SS for a name change/marriage before you can change the name on your DL.
It’s possible to fly with under a previous name if you have a passport or driver’s license in the matching name as the ticket.

IMO
These two are being watched/tracked by LE. But, I wonder which LE agency is footing the bill and how long will this continue without some sort of legal action?

It's confounding. She's using ID from her 3rd marriage but on husband #5. And several address changes. Jmo

That is why I think that the next move is going to be federal. If Lori is still collecting the Social Security benefits for both children, death benefits for JJ from CV and Tylee from Ryan, then she has to have the legal and physical custody of the children.

This is assuming that she even filed, if she never filed for the death benefits, she is off the hook there. Unless she arranged for the funds to go into a trust for the children. then, the money is just collecting in a bank account for the children, and if she isn't touching it, there isn't a crime there either. It is only a criminal act if she spends the money, without the children with her.

This whole situation is sophisticated, and took a lot of planning, ie premeditation to just be lolling around on the beach in Hawaii. Must be driving LEO crazy.

Would she have had the license from when they lived in Hawaii in 2014? The Daily Mail article said the police were happy to see there was an address that they didn't know about but now I'm wondering if that was the address where she previously lived with Charles. That house is directly across the street from the condo they were renting. They weren't served until the resort manager told them there was a new reservation under Lori's name for Sunday and then stopped them just outside the resort.

One of the Hawaii experts here on WS, and apoligies that I forgot who that was, said you get big discounts when you flash your local ID so I assume she's using it for that and maybe used it in January/February 2019 as well.

That could be it. Maybe she had the license from when she and Charles lived there, under Vallow. Then at some point after Charles' death she filed for a new card due to a name change. It looks like that could be done quickly if HI accepts the death of a spouse in the "divorce" category. Otherwise she would need to fill out a bunch of requests and forms and wait for some time. Any locals know if death counts as divorce? She could also quickly get a new ID after she got married, but then it would have to say her new name (Daybell) and not her old one.

It is mentioned in the court order. What trial are you meaning?
The trial to determine the kids' fate - whether they are taken away from Lori by the state of Idaho

She would not need a new ID. A Hawaii DL is valid for 8 years. I doubt anyone would care if it said Ryan, Vallow, or Daybell.

She doesn't tell them what happened for days????

I'm curious about the date Chad's ticket was booked to Hawaii after Tammy's funeral. If it was booked prior to her passing that would be a real problem for him legally. I also wonder where exactly Lori was when Tammy passed away. Was she in Hawaii already or did they fly together after the funeral?

I imagined that Lori was already in HI - perhaps from Sept. 24th on, until Chad arrived a month later, they got “married”, looked for a place, and then went back to ID together to pack up/ship belongings to the new place. I think Lori didn’t need to be in the same town to have instigated/planned the deaths of Tammy and attempted of Melani’s husband, and of Alex.

BBM. Wouldn't her last name be Vallow by then? The license said Lori Ryan.

She likely just renewed her HI license (in the same name she had when she first got one) when she was living there, or when she visited in early 2019 for a month.

She needs a valid ID. Her last name changed to Vallow in 2006. It isn't legal to have a driver's license that isn't your correct name or address. So yes, legally, plenty of people would care. Also, if she had another license under Vallow, she's blatantly breaking the law.

I'm not saying she would need one, just that she could have gotten a valid one quickly that said Ryan if she wanted to.

According to everything I've looked at, she would need proof of her identity to renew that.

She's been married so many times that it's possible she never legally changed all of her ID's to Vallow after marrying Charles but used his name. Chad's referring to her as Lori Daybell now but I doubt she's changed all of her documents to Daybell. It's surprisingly easy to do. In my state, all that is required to renew your driver's license is to attest that your name and adress haven't changed and voila', new license.

So, she could have acquired a Hawaii license under the name Ryan because that's what was on her other ID's to obtain the license. Then, when she moved to Arizona, she could have obtained a license under the name Vallow by presenting her marriage certificate, knowing that would allow her to keep the HI license under the radar. They didn't take a car to/from Hawaii so there would be no common vehicle registration number associated with both licenses. MOO

That's what I'm getting at. "Under the radar". If she has multiple ID's who only knows what she's done over the years under an alias. Jmo

Name Change After Divorce

The court proceedings for divorce in Hawaii permit either party to revert to the middle name and/or last name used prior to marriage or civil union. However, to make the change legal, you will need to include the new name within the provisions of your divorce decree. After the divorce is final, contact the Hawaii State Department of Health to request a certified copy of your divorce certificate. This document will serve as legal proof of your name change.

If death counts, (dont know if it does) she would just need to go down to the DMV, show the death cert, and request a new ID using the last name prior to marriage (Ryan).

I'm still thinking about the resort manager saying Lori Ryan used a Hawaii driver's license to check in. I've been reading on driver's license requirements in Hawaii. From what I read, and it's all JMO, unless something has changed, she was falsifying information to have that license. Surely, she didn't check in with an expired license? Hawaii licenses are good for 8 years, expiring at a birthday. So roughly 2011 she had to renew that thing. Providing some sort required documentation. What was going on that far back for her to need (for all practical purposes) a fake ID? All JMO.

Driver License Renewal Tips - current
Lori first moved to Hawaii around 2016 so her driver's license would expire around 2024 if she got a new one here.

Hawaii does not issue a new license until your former state license expires. In my case I moved here from Arizona and my Arizona license is valid until 2027 so Hawaii won't give me a new license until then. Instead I got a state ID for discounts mostly. She is likely in the same boat.

That link is for Honolulu County. Kauai County has different rules (though very similar). Drivers License Division - Kauai.gov
