Lori and her evil circus-Reminds me of the book Something Wicked This Way Comes! I really doubt Chad had a clue of what he was getting into getting involved with her-he is still to blame for the death of his wife at the very least MOO

Lori was alone at the storage on October 1st. All other visits were after the Gilbert murder attempt, although one on the same day.
Exactly my point. If it was on the 2nd it might rule Alex out, depending on the times.

Is it possible Lori hoped someone else would take care of discarding her children's things when she became delinquent on the storage unit payments and the items were thrown out/auctioned?

Regarding the sentimental items within the unit, that breaks my heart for the kids. Worst case scenario, kids are gone. Best case scenario, they're alive - but their precious items are up for grabs. MOO. I sure hope KVW & LW have a chance to obtain the items.

My narcissistic, addict bio dad "kidnapped" my brother and I as children in a custodial interference situation. He took us across state lines and put all of our treasured items (photos, mementos, journals, etc) in a storage unit as he moved us around to hotels and whatnot for a year. He defaulted on the unit and all of our items were lost. A mother myself now, I am a bit obsessed with backing up my children's photos in physical albums, cloud storage, and backup hardware storage. Lori continues to shock me with her heartless, callous actions.

BBM

In the mind of a criminal (hypothetically) it would beat being caught disposing of the items. A burn pile attracts attention and leaves evidence of metal items like ice skate blades and bicycle frames, for example. I don't know how the US deals with trash collections - burned or buried in landfill? Again those items are probably going to stand out if you are seen dumping them because they are in perfect condition, expensive and/or sentimental like photos and memory quilts. Strange items to leave on the side of the road also. Sell the items and you leave buyers as witnesses.

Much easier to take a storage unit in a name which you know is going to change when you get married in a few weeks time, and then let the payments lapse, leaving the company to dispose of the items.

MOO
Yes, exactly what I was thinking, too

I wish I were there, I would take the second shift and go put them back up!!
Maybe we should rent a billboard! Are there billboards on Kauai?

But Nate says in the video that Alex (or someone who looked like him) WAS at the storage unit with Lori on the 2nd. IMO it doesn't matter whether he was carrying a tire or not on that occasion. If he was in Gilbert for the attack in the morning and drove right back to Rexburg, by the time of his arrival the storage would have been closed for that day.

With the guardianship and CPS filing for the JJ and Tylee, wouldn't once those are done, kidnapping charges be filed if Lori doesn't produce them?

Start a go fund me for it-I would totally contribute! Maybe one of the news sites can mention it!
Great idea! I am in!

Here's something else I thought of. The townhomes at 565 Pioneer Rd in Rexburg are two-story with a garage in the rear and front door opposite side. We've all said there is no way Chad couldn't have missed seeing the toys on the front porch. With this footage of all the kids' things in the storage unit. I'm not sure. The townhome Lori was in, #175, faces an inner yard and sidewalk and the front of another building. What if these people are storing personal items in the storage unit (early October) that belong to the children because the children have already been moved (September 24-October 1). There's a chance that CD moves in late October or early November and only enters through the garage. We know how sparse the home was in AZ from the bodycam footage. How likely is it that there's nothing to show children lived there? How likely is it that he never goes out the front door? The townhome is in the middle of the building. To get to the garage would be easiest through the unit rather than out the front door and around all the way north or south. Why use the front? If he never used the front, he wouldn't see the toys? If he did see the toys, it's easily explainable that they're from MB's children. The lies are really easy to keep him out of the loop of their existence for a few days before Nov 7 in Hawaii. Then, island paradise for a few weeks, back to Rexburg. If that's not CD in the storage unit, then he's easily unaware of the children. If the Nov 24 is him and Lori, still easy to say it's not Lori's children, or that they're deceased: "no minor children". I'm not saying this has to be true, but it's all very plausible IMO.
But he knows now? And still not talking....

I believe storage units can be accessed any time of day or night. That is what I've experienced in the past. The hours listed for the business are simply "office hours". I used a passcode for primary gate to open, then used my key to access the unit even though no one was present at the facility.

Maybe find out when the next church service is and put fliers on all their windshields while they’re inside.

Regardless of what Chad knew he was getting into- he is STILL there with her, right in the thick of things. I is clearly onboard and an active participant. He could have walked away at any time.

Oh .... I love that idea! I will pay for flyers. I might even pays someone to do it!

I LOVE this! Wish I was there to do it myself.

OK, even then, a trip from Arizona would take him about 14 hours, meaning that he would arrive to Rexburg at midnight if he left Gilbert at 10am. That is too late. And he'd have to pick up Lori on the way.
ETA: The heavy item and the tire were picked up during daytime. It could not have been on the 2nd anyway because the storage was only rented by Lori a day earlier and she hadn't brought those items in.

Wishful thinking about possible topics for Lum:
  • People and/or interviews , including Lori’s family, Meloni/new husband, Alex’s girlfriend/her adult son
  • Where the rest of the vehicles ended up
  • Autopsy results
  • Ballistics
  • Wedding details, for any/all
  • Interview with any person they tried to bring in who declined
  • Any person they asked to watch the kids who declined
  • Social media account IDs we’re unaware of that came from Tylee/Lori/anyone’s friends, & have interesting info
  • Home or business video camera footage...
  • Interviews with landlords who rent to people like this who skip out on rentals (to me that says either much less competitive rental markets than I’m used to, or LOTS of money on hand, and income on background check to
Honestly, given the way this case is going, it would not surprise me at all if the info is none of above, and is instead something else totally unexpected and crazy.

Any more ideas?

Does anyone local know if this particular storage facility is 24-hour or limited hours? Both exist, and the details aren’t always advertised.

Yes, exactly what I was thinking, too
And I just had another thought that the items they kept in the lock up were either suspicious to give away, might entail explanations which come back to haunt them such as my son grew out of his bicycle, when it's still new, or he's going abroad and we can't take it, and the other items had names and photos on them which were identifiers and wouldn't be wanted by anyone else. That's the scary part to me. Can't hide that it was JJ's backpack or Cody's shirt.

She knew she wouldn't ever be going back to the unit IMO. I can't think of a place where JJ couldn't take his blanket and backpack with him. He's not going to accept being called by a new name if he's being sent to live somewhere else. IMO. :(
