February 21, 2019 Officials at school report Lori being MIA to CPS? This is a head scratcher to me. I am assuming that J.J. was in Charles’s care at this point? Why would the school report Lori to CPS? At a public school it is not unusual for a parent to walk out of the picture. Sad but true. If he was being cared for Charles why would they alert CPS? There would be more to the story than her just taking off to warrant a hotline call, in my opinion.

By that date Charles had filed petitions for an order of protection and for divorce. The school must have been in contact with Charles and deemed reporting to CPS in the interests of protecting JJ.

In the protection petition (4th Feb) he asked that she be ordered to stay away from the school.

In the divorce petition (14th Feb) he stated that he was "greatly concerned that Mother may try to flee with JJ. On or about February 6th, 2019... Father found out that Mother contacted JJ's school and asked if JJ was in class. Father is worried that Mother may be planning to use the rental car points to leave the state and potentially take JJ with her."

She had already taken JJ's medication, IPad and Bailey's collar and refused to give them back. JJ was nothing more than a pawn to Lori.

Then, after Charles was killed, Lori finds out she is removed as a beneficiary from his life insurance. Which I am sure made her mad. Especially at the actual beneficiary, Charles' sister Kay. Kay already suspects that was the motive behind JJ's disappearance (Lori being mad about not getting life insurance). And before moving to Idaho, Lori returns JJ's dog to the trainer, which again suggests Lori isn't much concerned about JJ's well-being at that point.

"Some of those instances occurred around Thanksgiving, when the story of JJ's and Tylee's disappearance broke before Christmas, and most recently up too last week [...]" my guess would be that she started accessing the app more to see if the school would send any information to the parents about her and the case. Like, she would know if the school was telling the parents "if you know something, contact LE" and she might have thought that she would be able to know how much the school knew and thus, how much LE knew. I don't see the school sharing too many details about the investigation with the parents though. She was snooping around to see if something was being said about her.

Perhaps she wants to know if anyone mentions her. She might know there is someone there (a parent) who knows something? Like confiding her reasons for going to ID and marriage plans, or something.

I'm not sure exactly what this is - is it a one on one communication system between parent and school or can multiple people communicate, like a community forum?

That was my guess, too. She knows she lied to the school about some things (Charles' manner of death, for instance) and she might have been wondering if there has been communication in the app about her. I would imagine she is following the news on her activities, wherever she finds it.

The one poison possibility I brought up several threads ago was Formaldehyde. I would be curious if it leaves behind tell-tale signs that can be uncovered even after embalming.

I think one issue is that formaldehyde is used in the embalming process, so that may be a really hard one to find. I would think, though, that some tissues would show scarring or irritation from the exposure if it happened before death.

We don't know that LE wasn't already aware of this and the school release wasn't made at the behest of LE to put the pressure on perhaps prompting someone to make a move that LE can follow.

For sure. It's pretty obvious the the press is being included as an arm of the police investigation. Reporters are holding and paying out news in a very measured way. For example, Nate Eaton was given advance information to position an EIN crew in Kauai when the search warrants for Lori's home and car were carried out. (Dateline was there as well, though we still have to wait 36 hours, 22 minutes, and 14 seconds to see if they release anything new.) The communication and coordination between LE and media about releasing information according to a plan seems pretty obvious.

There are 75 days or 2.5 months between the first two dates. It's unlikely that this was her communication channel.

This shows there was no homeschooling or trying to get info for JJ, just that she was monitoring for gossip as this story blew up on national news.

It was crudely stated, but LV clearly has made a bit of a career as a(to use another term I don't love) "trophy wife" - her ability to smile and lightly flirt her troubles away is apparent in her LE interview footage. Someone like LV certainly has the ability to appeal to a middle aged guy who never got to date the cheerleader back in high school.

Brought in for questioning for what? In the US, LE cannot "bring you in for questioning." They can request that you answer questions and you can refuse. You can also just answer written questions, which is the best option.

I have committed no federal crimes. I am certain of that. If the FBI showed up to question me tomorrow I would say "no." I would absolutely not answer any questions verbally. Personally, I would NEVER answer a LEO question unless in writing so that I had a record.

In the US almost any lawyer with tell you not to ever answer any question a LEO asks you under any circumstances. So our POIs seem to be behaving as every American should, right? It's just that most of us have been trained for some reason that we should cooperate with police.

Because of the extremely unusual nature of this case lawyers will need to argue the definition of what is reasonable. This case will most likely set a precedent. reasonable

I don't think we can rule that out other than Lori moving to Rexburg a month and a half before doesn't make much sense if she wasn't intending to end up with Chad, at a minimum, and more likely seems like she knew she was going to (and not just because she's a hot blonde). It seems like a stretch that Lori came to Rexburg, hoping she could somehow capture Chad or for some other reason having nothing to do with him, then Tammy happened to die, and Lori managed to capture Chad in 2 weeks. Sure, truth is stranger than fiction, but if a work of fiction had a plot like this the critics and readers would tear it apart.

Does anyone recall when we knew Chad was declaring having "visions" about Tammy's death. Just wonering how close to LVs arrival in Rexburg. Not sure if that info only came from Julie Rowe.

I'm jumping out on a limb and agreeing with whomever said that Lori was clearly signing onto the LIFE Academy board to see if people were talking about her; or if the administrator(s) had made any type of statements about Lori, LIFE, media investigations, and/or media questions.

Not quite sure where the theory that Lori was really using this app to look at lesson plans for someone else in the secret bunker homeschooling JJ would come from; as even the Facebook post from the academy points out that JJ was unenrolled by Lori. Also, surely Lori wasn't to know that her access to the LIFE interface would continue, so such an option couldn't seriously be part of any alternative schooling for JJ, IMO.

I also think there have been enough comments, photographs and videos about Lori's activities since JJ was withdrawn from LIFE, to gather that there isn't any homeschooling going on. I don't know what other people do between

• ferrying stuff in and out of a storage unit and
• pondering on (or attending) my niece and brother's back-to-back weddings and
• attending a funeral in Utah and
• marrying on the beach in Hawaii and
• being on a honeymoon and
• hearing of my brother's death and
• being served a search warrant and
• wandering around a resort being hounded by the press and
• grabbing a bag of Sour Patch Kids at CVS

but I'm not doing home-school planning for my son and neither is Lori.

Imo if they can track Lori's location by login, I would be real curious of her location on Dec 9th. Still think it is possible she was in arizona with Alex.

The grandparents went back home. I'm so confused in the lack of urgency by LE/FBI/Judge, most of the people have to be reading the news, its' everywhere. What gives, Dateline is running a 2hr special on Friday. I just feel like an actual GAME CHANGER happens in a sense of urgency, and I don't feel much urgency from anyone involved. This case blows my mind AND honestly makes me believe we are coming to end of the world situation after reading all this LDS forum side bar stuff (SHOUTOUT CHAD 'THA GOD' DAYBELL) i'm slowly losing my mind, slowly..

I personally don't see a lack of urgency. What I see is a necessary abundance of caution.

The timeline is exploding daily with new information. It's being carefully built by all involved.

LE has been tracking Lori and Chad for a long time. They knew where they were long before John Q. Public knew.

They are carefully getting search warrants issued. Multiple states. This is a huge investigation. We see the surface. What they allow us to see.

Plans are being put in place now for the guardianship of JJ.

LE has to be careful. They need the children or their bodies. That's the priority. After that, solid charges for whatever crimes and arrests of whoever is involved.

We may all collectively faint when all is said and done.

That avenue will be a game changer when the time comes. Once Lori loses custody, then she is open to direct criminal liability and this whole charade ends.

I'm wondering where Chad and Lori's attorney is in all of this? As far as I know he's been conspicuously absent every step of the way. He wasn't there on the date Lori was supposed to produce the children. Not a peep of his whereabouts when KW and LW filed for custody. Same goes for yesterday's two hour court hearing.

Surely if this was a custody dispute from the beginning, as some people claim, this is exactly what they retained him for, right? Surely, if they are "loving" and "devoted" parents as he said then he'd make his presence known and fight every step of the way for Lori and Chad's best interests now that it has become a custody dispute? Certainly he'd be there for them regardless of what this whole thing is about, right? And most certainly if he's "[looking] forward to addressing the allegations once they have moved beyond speculation and rumor" he'd be actively doing just that now that things have begun moving in the court system, right?

And still, nothing! Not a word from him since he first was retained by them and put forth his statement! And when Lori was legally obligated to bring the children to Rexburg he was conveniently absent! Not a word! Not a peep! Not even a sighting of him has been reported this entire time at any of the legal proceedings!

What gives?!?
