Do we know this is true?

What if I had a kid, enrolled her in a prestigious music academy in Europe, then a bunch of relatives I was ticked off at and people online watching headlines said I killed them and complained to the police...police in some podunk town in Idaho demand I show the kids. I say "F-Off, I don't need your stinkin government intrusion. You're not the boss of me!"

Then a judge from the same podunk town issues an order based on nothing but hearsay from relatives and me exercising my right to not submit to a search without a warrant and the coincidence that I had a planned move the following day. "F-off again. I like this game. I've got officials working hard to come after me for something I know they will eventually lose. I'll get to watch them all get fired for squandering taxpayer dollars."

Then when they show up with an arrest warrant from another state I tell them kids are in Europe, safe and sound. These Idaho cops and judges are morons! Are you going to let them stomp on my rights? It will cost me $20,000 to bring the kids back and show you because we fly first class. And it will set them back in school. Your honor, Hawaii needs to pay for me to bring the kids to you, first class. Because you have no authority to order me to spend that kind of money for a frivolous Idaho warrant. Judge says "no" or wastes more taxpayer dollars. Judge asks why I made things so difficult. "Because I can." I smile...

Yeah, I know it does not exactly work that way but the point is, the Idaho judge's orders are questionable at best. Someone said that Idaho has jurisdiction if they were last seen in Idaho. But if someone saw them in Montana, say on the 25th of September, jurisdiction gone and we are back to square one. The witness has no obligation to come forward either. But proceedings are shut down as soon as that weak little fact is false. So prosecution wastes thousands of Idaho taxpayer dollars on a futile quest. Lori can stop that but she has no obligation to do so.

And back to SS...there are periodic reviews from what I understand. But they happen after multiple years, not a few months. And given that the Idaho judge's order was made out of ignorance (meaning lack of knowledge, not that he is an idiot) I doubt it is enough to warrant federal fraud charges or denial of an entitlement. If literal physical custody were required then every kid in a residential private school would lead to parental fraud.

Seriously, If I had bodies on my hands, kids or otherwise, I'd be heading somewhere that does not have extradition with the US. There are many beautiful tropical islands they could easily get to that fit that description. I would not be checking into hotels in my own name in a US state.

The more I observe their behavior the more convinced I am that the kids are safe and they are taunting LE. I do think they had something to do with the deaths of their spouses but my theory on that is that they will get away with it because there is no solid evidence to convict. Everything will be pinned on AC acting alone and he can't defend himself.

And nobody at this "prestigious music academy in Europe" has seen the international news about the missing children? Does this fictional academy prevent all of their students from ALL communication with the outside world for over 4 months? Do they keep the children over ALL holidays? Do they never communicate with the parent, who is flaunting the authorities just because she can? Do they also never take any payments from the parent for the schooling? Or it means Lori flew the children to the school on some private jet and paid in cash for a year upfront and somehow the FBI can find no record of any of those actions? But the FBI knows where Lori and Chad have been in Hawaii and how long they have been there and that the children were never with them in Hawaii? And of course Lori hasn't needed to send any money to them for incidentals for over 4 months so far? And wherever they are is warm and they don't need their winter coats and other winter clothing left in storage or I guess she left them with enough money to buy new? She did not even send any Christmas gifts for JJ and Tylee either? Does this mean these music students are never playing their music for others as well? Never sending any videos of their rehearsals to Lori or their family and friends? Are the children known by new names to the other students? Are you saying they are using false names for 4 months and haven't been recognized yet? Because most music schools/private schools I'm aware of have concerts and the students travel and interact with hundreds of other people daily and they go home for holiday breaks. By now some student would have texted their mom and said, "Hey those missing kids are here in school with me and Tylee is my dormmate." None of that has happened, apparently.

Sorry, but your scenario is not realistic to me in the type of world we live in today. Most wealthy parents who can send their children to a prestigious private school overseas would have had the child on Facetime with the police, and playing their latest concerto for them, in less than a minute after LE arrived for the welfare check back in November. Then the police would have had to go away and only come back if they had evidence in the deaths of Charles and Tammy. But, oh wait, Lori had Tylee's phone in her possession and was sending texts pretending to be Tylee so she couldn't Facetime her, could she? I guess that music school doesn't allow any phones or any way for parents to check on their children?

Instead of clearing this up, Lori and Chad lied multiple times about the children's location and welfare (telling some people Tylee is dead and JJ doen't exist). Even if initially Lori had an attitude of "you can't make me... nah nah boo boo" towards the cops then once she consulted with a lawyer I would think the lawyer would tell her what could happen if she didn't produce the kids and would advise her to have the kids Facetime the police or produce evidence of where she sent the kids to school. In the beginning police said they would accept a Facetime video of the children saying they are safe. But now we are way past that. This is not just the small-town Idaho police investigating. There are at least four states with LE in multiple cities/multiple counties plus the FBI involved. There are search warrants being issued left and right, meaning the police have probable cause to obtain these, especially to get JJ and Tylee's medical records. The investigation is now a "conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder" investigation according to those warrants. The legal actions taken in Idaho have begun the process of legally taking custody of the children away from Lori, even if the children cannot be found. The actions are sealed so we can't know what if anything has happened but long answer short- yes I believe her parental rights can eventually be severed for this "stunt" and that will eventually lead to cutting off SS benefits. But I also don't believe this is merely a stunt and losing her parental rights and some SS payments are the least of Lori's worries.

MOO.

Eta she's almost 50

She’s mid-40’s, and what does that have to do with anything? I’m two years older than her and still enjoy a very healthy sex life. :D:rolleyes:;)

Here's what I find odd about all of this. I recently got divorced in Arizona while living in Hawaii. The service was by my ex-wife's attorney contacting me by email and asking if I would waive service. I said "sure" because it was uncontested and I wanted to make things simple. She then said "I'll send you something to be notarized." Now, having things notarized is something else extremely challenging on neighbor islands in Hawaii. There are notaries, but sometime you have to drive 100 miles to hope to get there when they are open. So I said "you'll have to have me served if the alternative is dealing with finding a notary." The lawyer said, ok, we can do it by email if you reply and acknowledge receipt.

The point is, the only reason he would have had to pursue her to accept service like that is if she did not want to get divorced. Maybe she didn't. But after 13 years of marriage and with a special needs kid of his, and with minimal earning power and his high income, if she wanted him out, she would have been way better off agreeing to the divorce and bleeding him financially. Sure, she expected life insurance but she could have negotiated for that in the divorce given their joint adoption of JJ and his age.

None of it makes sense.

It wasn't just a divorce they were trying to serve her with-- it included an order of protection saying Lori couldn't go near Charles, his workplace, his home, nor could she go to JJ's school and if she wanted to have a parental visit with JJ she had to communicate with Charles only by text, no phone calls. But they couldn't find her to serve her and were worried she would come get JJ. It got so serious that JJ's school contacted CPS when Lori couldn't be found. What the school reported to CPS is not known by us but that seems rather unusual to me. The school files on Lori are probably very interesting. MOO.

If I was a parent I'd be having a hissy fit right about now. That school seems to be having a lapse of security. Jmo

It's a legitimate problem to have someone totally without association to the school having access to whatever is announced or discussed there....

Being turned off may not give location data from the time it was off, but phones attempt to call home when they're turned on. So, let's say it was last used in Rexburg, turned off and now it is in Hawaii. When turned on, it will attempt to call home to the provider. Let's assume it doesn't have service...even then, it will make the attempt and get a denial. On the provider's side, that is entered as an authentication attempt, but it still logs data.

Unless she knows how to really wipe a phone, there's a lot of data that gets left behind in fragments. It might not give the full picture but it gives pieces.

Lori apparently doesn't know how to delete an email from the "sent" folder. She emailed Chad video of herself dancing provocatively, didn't erase it, and Charles found it in Jan 2019. Her devices are probably going to be treasure troves of info. :D MOO.

Considering the search warrant included financial information related to income and expense for JJ? They are most certainly investigating her for federal fraud in the "podunk" town. Jmo

I'm wondering if this bit about her not having any tech abilities isn't quite right. In this specific case, it's more like she just doesn't have a conscience about it, so why bother deleting it?

It was crudely stated, but LV clearly has made a bit of a career as a(to use another term I don't love) "trophy wife" - her ability to smile and lightly flirt her troubles away is apparent in her LE interview footage. Someone like LV certainly has the ability to appeal to a middle aged guy who never got to date the cheerleader back in high school.
Wish--every once in a while--we could post a laughing emoji rather than just a like!!!!
:p

Agree! I feel for the forensic analysts that are going through these devices.

If LE is monitoring Lori's electronic communications (and I assume they have been doing so for awhile... unless there's some legal reason this couldn't be done)... it's obvious she hasn't been in contact with her children. Unless, of course, it's via one of those communication veils. :(
Perhaps Chad has created a portal in the closet where the kids are in order for Lori to visit them....

That is certainly not an LDS approved bathing suit.

It looks to me like it could be something like a resort ID bracelet, lets them use the facilities or the beach for free or something. I think it looks like Lori could also be wearing one on her left wrist in this photo (if you enlarge) in the media thread -

Does this mean Jj is alive and being homeschooled? Why have they removed the access? This is a good sign isn't it?

I have a very similar app on my phone for daycare, you absolutely could not homeschool your child based off of info from the application. My APP is customized for the daycare we use, but I'll give you a rundown of the alerts I get.

1. Check In to Classroom (I usually get this 2 minutes after I drop her off, unless she checks herself in on the iPad)
2. Pictures, so this is kind of interesting but standard. I only get pictures of my daughter, she gets "tagged" and if she is tagged in a picture it gets sent to me as an alert, it is all saved so if I wanted I could go back to any day and see the pictures from that day. However if they have a speaker, party, dress up day, activity that everyone participates in I get an alert and I can see that as can every other parent.
3. Updates on Classroom events (Valentines Day, PJ Day, Pizza Party, Monthly Activities (aka money racket pay $25 to make brownies and a snowflake ornament)
4. Someone brought in a snack
5. Meal reports- this comes at about 6:00pm every night it lists what was for breakfast/snack/lunch/snack and how much my kid ate.
6. Random Pictures- This probably depends on your child and the relationship you have within your daycare, my daughter has been in the same daycare since she was born, so frequently she will go visit other teachers and they will take pictures and send them to me.

Note, I have been at the same daycare for a very long time, so my relationship with the directors/teachers/parents is very strong, I probably get a lot more content than most people because they know I use it, I post it on Social Media (I'm friends with a lot of the teachers) so I probably get 2-3 times more pictures and notes than most parents that just drop off, which I assume is Lori.

The app also has email, calendar, all pictures, every day classroom reports, you can add pictures of your child and write little notes (for example, if my kid falls asleep on the ride home I always send them a picture and say thanks for the easy night)

If you have any questions about the app I'll do my very best to answer them.

Does anyone recall when we knew Chad was declaring having "visions" about Tammy's death. Just wonering how close to LVs arrival in Rexburg. Not sure if that info only came from Julie Rowe.
AFAIK JR was the only source. The timing is mentioned in her podcast, but we can only quote MSM. According to the article below Chad "repeatedly told her (JR) he had a vision of Tammy’s death". It is also stated in the article that JR had the same vision herself.

Case of two missing children involves deaths and rumors of a cult influence

Right?! And speaking of clothing choices, this baggy frumpy outfit she's wearing in the Longs Drug photo isn't her usual style. I must admit to wondering if she's pregnant! Baggy clothes and Sour Patch Kids???? Why not? I could see these two trying for a pregnancy, and then announcing their spawn is the second coming...

I'm wondering where Chad and Lori's attorney is in all of this? As far as I know he's been conspicuously absent every step of the way. He wasn't there on the date Lori was supposed to produce the children. Not a peep of his whereabouts when KW and LW filed for custody. Same goes for yesterday's two hour court hearing.

Surely if this was a custody dispute from the beginning, as some people claim, this is exactly what they retained him for, right? Surely, if they are "loving" and "devoted" parents as he said then he'd make his presence known and fight every step of the way for Lori and Chad's best interests now that it has become a custody dispute? Certainly he'd be there for them regardless of what this whole thing is about, right? And most certainly if he's "[looking] forward to addressing the allegations once they have moved beyond speculation and rumor" he'd be actively doing just that now that things have begun moving in the court system, right?

And still, nothing! Not a word from him since he first was retained by them and put forth his statement! And when Lori was legally obligated to bring the children to Rexburg he was conveniently absent! Not a word! Not a peep! Not even a sighting of him has been reported this entire time at any of the legal proceedings!

What gives?!?

There was a blip from the attorney. Right after the warrants were served in Hawaii. It was a little startling, and not a glowing endorsement of his clients. I will go through the media thread and try to find it.

She is following Justin Lum.....

Is this your opinion? Or we know this for fact that she has an account following Lum? TIA.

ETA: Disregard, I saw your answer above it's opinion. I agree that's totally possible. MOO.

Yes - this relates to the point I am making - and is critical to why you can't usually hide behind criminal presumption of innocence in a civil case.

Civil proceedings consist of both pleadings and evidence.

So a plaintiff or applicant files a statement of claim or application, seeking relief or orders from the Court. This will present a legal argument as to why the Court should give the orders the plaintiff seeks. it will also contain a summary of evidence that the plaintiff will produce in a contested hearing.

The respondent/defendant files a statement in opposition, including legal arguments as to why the Court should find in the defendants favour, and what evidence the defendant can produce.

If you turn up to Court with simply nothing, or don't even turn up, then obviously you risk an adverse decision.

So in this case, LV is NOT EVEN MAKING the arguments being made for her here.

The Court won't just imagine a state of affairs the defendant herself does not claim or evidence.
