But she probably did get her hands on his checking account, his retirement accounts, his real estate, his cars, etc because Arizona is a community property state (so is Texas, where he lived). They were married so own everything jointly, he dies and she gets control of it all. She could have gotten a bunch of money outside of the life insurance.

But isn't his estate in probate? Jmo

Interesting...They have them all over especially in Southern UT. . . I listened to podcast with both a former DA and a criminal defense attorney speak to the theory of people hiding them... The attorneys both come to the consensus that you have to have a lot of people "willing" to keep this quite. If you have them tucked into anything at all you rely on people to stay in lock step and not to anonymously report. I also think as we have watched these 2 in Hawaii, those who would be hiding children might be a little over it since they are with a 7 yr little boy without his service dog and a normal teenager needing a normal like with friends. MOO
I am not aware of any LDS schools like this. Provo Canyon School are for kids with behavior problems. I don't think they would keep the kids long if the parents are not having regular contact with the counselors. I may have a contact at this school that could check into this.

I still think the kids were staying at the son's home with the Venmo account for a while. Why else would that money be sent there beginning with a description of "Meds".

Did Lori’s brother have a life insurance policy? If so, could she have been the beneficiary?
I doubt she would get her hands on that money. His death is still being investigated, so I don't think insurance would pay, even if he had insurance.

Again, Colby has a young sickly child. Which is why the money were send for "meds."

So glad you have returned and are feeling better!
May I ask how recently LE showed up to follow up on the tip? If fairly recent it would lead me to believe they do not have any solid evidence that they are deceased. *discussion of totes
Moo

It happened in this last week.

And wasn't the amount sent relatively insignificant.

Wouldn't those LDS reform camps be worried about hiding children... Wouldn't they be worried about legal action being taken against them?

Or are they non-law-abiding camps???
By no means would I call them LDS reform camps, and these schools would be terrified of the legal action that would result of them having children that are a part of a nation wide hunt, I'm sorry, but this is a dead end street.

I don't think Charles had as much money stashed away as one would like to believe. I believe the people in his life spent it as fast as he could make it during his life. The properties they lived in seemed to all be rentals as well, so I don't believe Lori had any real estate to cash in on....Colby's vehicle was reposessed that was in Charles's name because Lori was no longer making payments on it. When Lori stole the $35k from his account last year, he couldn't make payroll. Yes, he had a million dollar life insurance policy, but it does not appear he had a lot of liquid assets per se.

I’m not aware of this. Do you have a link?

I suppose if you only have to make the money last until July that some assests you'd usually try to keep intact for the moment (401k or other retirement plans, etc) might be okay to go wild with instead. Take credit cards to the max (maybe one of Lori's hit that point or something since the payments for the storage unit wouldn't go through).
I was thinking along those lines myself, who gives a hoot what happens after July (if I am putting myself into their mind set)?

After reading more I am in a different place. The beliefs I read allege there will be earthquakes, plagues, floods and all that sort of thing starting in July. "Preppers" are preparing for the time when those things start. Society collapses so money is worthless, you need gold instead, as one example. Agriculture will collapse so you need a bunch of canned and freeze dried food.

Preppers are spending time and money getting ready for the end times by collecting food, buying gold, training in survival, etc. They are not tanning and spending $500 per night or whatever it costs to be at the Marriott in Kauai.

I like to hold back on saying anything is a dead end street when cults are on the board...

@Randocalrissian thank you for becoming verified! It seems some of your early posts were removed and unfortunately, I don't see them restored. Now that you are verified, I wonder if you could give us a recap on what you mentioned before. You mentioned back on January 27th that you decided to join because you felt your input was needed to clarify some things. What was happening then that made you post or what, if anything, do you think still needs clearing up?

And then here you mentioned it was "creepy stuff" that you don't want to have to type out again. Do you still feel we need to know about the creepy stuff? If you don't want to post it again, no worries, but I'm very curious. I can't recall if I read your posts that got removed pending verification. Did the creepy stuff have to do with Chad's job at the cemetery? (a random guess on my part since I find his ghost stories creepy). MOO.

Thanks again for being here and getting verified. :)

Odds of some retirement or other accounts where money is typically tied up long term and isn't quite as liquid is a possibility. As much money as Charles appears to have been bringing in and given the industry he worked in I'd be amazed if there wasn't a significant amount in things like that. However, that doesn't mean there was nearly enough to finance staying at the Marriot indefinitely, even at the cheaper $300/night rate.

Exactly. These two (Lori and Chad) aren't acting as if they believe the end of the world is coming this July. They aren't prepping, instead they are sunning on the beach. If I believed the end of the world is coming, I'd be sitting in a bunker with a bunch of canned goods, not frolicking on the beach.

I was being my usual facetious self with my questions. I don't think any camp nor school is a partner in crime and withholding info about the children.

Ok, but what connection is there between these schools and a cult?
