Sorry, but I'm having a hard time getting my posts to go through today. I keep asking questions that were already answered because it's taking me forever to post and the new responses are not loading until after I post. I think I'll go back to only reading and waiting for the Dateline special to be released online.

On Dateline the first hotel they were at was the Kauai Beach Resort in Kapaa, and then the hotel where they're walking out holding hands and hounded by the reporter, that is the Kauai Beach Mariott Resort in Nawiliwili Harbor.

I think the reason they might be staying at hotels and not a condo is that they might be booked? If the occupancy is high on the island, they might be moving around since it looks like they're on Kauai last minute. Condos are usually booked for weeks or months ahead of time, so they might have to stay at hotels to fill in gaps til they're able to get a condo again.

I imagine the condo owner where they had been renting out, kicked them out..seems logical to avoid the notoriety in the neighborhood... I bet that lease had contingencies that would work in favor of landlord.

Well- he did. He was paid from one of her other accounts. She actually has two other accounts and we can’t see transactions for one of them.


He explained it- but he needed a follow up question IMHO. Fact is we can see he was paid from Tylee and from Lori.

As far as I know , three. Mesa, Gilbert, and somewhere in North Phoenix (Deer Valley maybe?)

Mesa Temple closed last May and wont be open until sometime 2020. Gilbert is open and yes one in North Phx. There are 6 LDS Temples in Arizona now.

He had already put the gun down. Once he started performing CPR he is protected by laws in Arizona. I'm not saying he couldn't be arrested, only that they should not have stopped CPR until someone could take over. Those cops almost certainly had training and could have done it. They were in no hurry to do so even after the house was cleared. Seconds count.

I listened to the 911 call when AC calls the police and MOO when he tells the 911 operator he is doing CPR I think he is sitting on the couch cleaning his gun, or fixing himself some breakfast. He is not exerting himself.

A couple of weeks ago I got curious about the FLDS angle and did some research. I was not completely unfamiliar since I grew up in Arizona. What surprised me is how many unrelated FLDS groups there are. I think I found a list of nearly 2 dozen. In the end I concluded a connection to any of the splinter LDS groups is highly unlikely.

But I agree, the prepper group is the key. I read a post from 2011 today on a mainstream LDS forum about AVOW from a former member. It said their (AVOW) plan is to camp out in the Rockies for a year before the end. I'm finding people that seem to have dropped out of society around July of last year and I am really curious if they are connected to AVOW.

Yeah, when I was reading Chad's stuff earlier, before so much of it got taken down, I saw some of those posts about hiding out in the Rockies for a year while the ventilator does its thing with the fertilizer. There were some posts that alluded to Rexburg and some other places (Missouri was one) that were essentially staging areas--places you could move to to wait to see whether the end was coming or it was a false alarm. That was the first thing I thought of when LV moved to Rexburg unexpectedly, but then the rest of her behavior didn't seem to fit. Maybe the hiding out part is just for other people.

Some seem to be under the impression that Chad and Lori and their likeminded believers would be influenced by an official statement or some kind of admonishment from church authorities. But, after reading Chad's 'train dream' posting on another site, there is no way he cares or would even be hindered by church leaders. He thinks they no longer receive inspiration, he thinks HE is the one receiving inspiration and leading people. IMO. Leaders also do counsel members about these kinds of things in talks, church magazines, etc. regularly. We have two general conferences a year where they counsel and admonish the members, so they've done what they can, but it is up to the members to listen and heed their counsel. As I mentioned, in reference to Chad's 'train dream' and his remarks as to what it meant, he hasn't been listening to LDS church leaders in years.MOO

I went to the Tucson pre-opening walkthrough. I've been to Mesa for BFTD, but the other two were my post-lds days.

Personally, as an active LDS, we avoid the beach on Sunday, other than walking on the boardwalk maybe. We attend church, spend time with friends or family, but save the beach for weekdays. But, other LDS may have their own views on this.

In Hawaii when people spend time with family it often is at the beach! I can't imagine it is any different for the LDS members here.

On the subject of faith/beliefs and this group of people... I was reading on an LDS affiliated forum that has been mentioned here on WS a few times that I probably can't mention? I'm not sure. Not sure I can even say what the gist of what I was reading is so mods please snip or delete if I am out of line. People posting over there are saying things like (I am paraphrasing, not a direct quote) "The leader should send some of his security to Kauai and sit down with CD and explain this media frenzy is hurting us. They need to tell CD to admit publicly what he knows and get the cameras away from us."

This is the first I had encountered the idea that CD wasn't driving the crazy train. I had assumed it was maybe not CD but he had equal standing with 1 or 2 others to be in charge. Maybe some pressure from within whatever that group is can bring this mess to an end? I honestly hadn't considered this being bad from their perspective. MOO

@Gardener1850 I saw your post showing concern for my well being, don't worry I'm alive and well. You were right that some of my last public activity talked about being sick, but I've long since recovered and am more-or-less living life normally. (I think the stress of doing daily updates combined with everything else going on then made my immune system much weaker than usual).

@tealrose forgive me if this has already been answered but you previously asked: "Did @Maxxer500 say why they were saying they 'betrayed their family'? That seems like such an odd thing to say..." in reference to this quote from me: "I'm of the impression that the Daybells cut contact with us at Chad's request, there's talk that he's been telling them we betrayed their family, but I'm not too sure on this."
I don't know why the Daybells were told that their Douglas relatives were betraying them. I'd love it if they would talk with us so everyone could figure out what the heck is going on, but it seems they won't talk to anyone right now. I could speculate why but it wouldn't change anything to do so.

I'll make sure to respond to any @s you guys send me, but I can't promise to do much more right now. Without much new around the case there's little reason for me to stir the pot and upset someone again. Before I sign off though, I'll mention some recent developments in the Douglas family.
•Local LE showed up to my house recently after a (anonymous? I don't know) tip was called in saying JJ and Tylee were seen on my yard and might be living in my house. The household was cooperative with them and showed them the tip was false. I'm a little nervous of the implications this event might have, but there's no reason to suspect anyone is at risk right now.
•Based on recent family discussion it sounds like no Douglas will be making public statements or doing anything with any media. Despite the fact everyone has had reporters show up on their doorstep. My activity on Websleuths may be the most the family will tolerate.
•For privacy reasons I won't go into details but it's been made known to me that Chad has contacted people more-or-less saying: "The Second Coming is happening this July". It's been remarked that none of the pre-Second Coming prophecies Chad made have happened yet, and him saying this directly opposes the LDS teaching/doctrine of "no one will know when the Second Coming will happen".

I have never been so thrilled to see a VI check in in my life!

When you move to Hawaii you have a few options. You can send a shipping container, which costs about $6000 for a 20 ft container door to door holding up to about 40,000 lb, you can pack in tote/boxes and ship by regular freight for $5-$6 per pound, or you can pay a moving company for about $2 per pound subject to minimum, about 1000 lb. So basically you start judging whether to take or replace things based on weight and sentimental value. You can also pay the airlines for excess baggage.

I just want to make sure to rule things out, and clarify if I have missed something. Are we CERTAIN that the kids are not in HI? Just wondering if there could have been any way they could have come in on a private plane?? Have we had any statement from LE that they have flight records of L and C and nobody else??

I agree. The right thing to do was to report it to the police and FBI, like she did. But IMHO it's not right for the woman to post her "tip" all over facebook until she gets it printed in the MSM. There's a reason that Justin Lum and Nate Eaton didn't pick up this story on the possible sighting of Tylee. This story has the potential to mislead people. If LE thought it was possibly Tylee, but couldn't tell for sure, then they would have released the info about the sighting themselves and asked for help tracking the people down. That happened in the Jayme Closs case-- there was a sighting in Florida that LE released video of, then they tracked down the people and then ruled it out as being JC. The fact that we heard nothing from LE about a possible sighting in Dec makes me think LE was able to quickly rule out the girl as being Tylee. However, they would not bother telling that to the person who made the tip call. MOO.

Worse yet, if it had been Tylee or any other girl in trouble the news story would tip off her captors making them harder to find. And possibly endanger the poor girl’s life even more. If there really was such a girl, tell LE and let them handle it.

If it’s a fabricated story the woman is selfish. If true, she’s incredibly stupid. Either way, she’s a menace and should keep her mouth shut.

May I ask how recently LE showed up to follow up on the tip? If fairly recent it would lead me to believe they do not have any solid evidence that they are deceased. *discussion of totes
