I've literally seen people use storage units as "dumpsters". Paying a month's rent, fill it with trash, and walk away. Cheaper than a real dumpster, I guess.

The only time I've used them is when we were moving. We needed to get our house ready to stage and sell and the one we were moving to was being remodeled still.

I don't see either of these options applying.

Other reasons to use storage units?

I can see that too but she paid Oct, Nov, and Dec didn't she? It was only the January payment that got refused which could be the probate if it was a card on a joint or business account. If you were using it as a dumpster then you'd only pay one month surely?

Yes. Which is why I don't see that as an option.

It's like they were using it as a garage, what with their frequent visits there.

Couldn't see Mexico on that list. So where are they going? Staying on Maui or transfer onwards?

They could go anywhere. To get to Mexico all they have to do is fly to Los Angeles and transfer. LA is only about 130 miles from the border. All sorts of connecting flights into Mexico.

Cabo is very popular with the Arizona crowd. (Baja California)

Very strange article. Very strange... wtf
It sounds like Tylee. Perhaps instead of the Rocky Mountains, they are more towards the east coast. Tennessee Mountains, NC, West Virginia, there will be plenty of pockets of "off the map" land and extremely anti-government prepper communities (the types that see the FBI as a top enemy). My bet, if this info is true, the kids are being held in the east, probably mountainous region.

If the FBI is smart, and i know they are, they have someone already within the AVOW organization (although i doubt anyone is sharing anything at this time-hopefully someone was already planted prior to all of this). I know they would be after the major players like Christopher Parrett, Roger Young, etc. Not just Chad Daybell. They have some piece of info somewhere on a computer or something where they have mentioned prepper locations, i'm sure. And the prepper playbook is easily for sale although it is mostly just links to other things. Parrett put it together. And if you find any of this hard to believe, take a look yourself. You might be surprised at how extreme they are. They have been training for this end of days thing for decades:

Well TY for posting that. The last bit is the most important I think and is what I have said.

"Montoya says it’s important for the public to send in tips, even if they seem insignificant, and to trust the legal process. His experience shows that if the couple eventually decides to cooperate with law enforcement, it will likely be Chad who talks.

“I would note in cases like this that it’s the woman who is the hard nut to crack. The husband is usually the one who comes clean first,” Montoya says. “It’s frustrating the parents aren’t talking, it’s frustrating they’re having a grand old time in Hawaii but maybe at some point, their conscience finally gets to one of them.” "

I would think that the clearer heads of L and KW would have alerted employer administration regarding any retirement accounts or such... Not sure how long Charles worked for his company...have we ever shared that data......... But, unless it was a lot of years, retirement accounts might not even amount to much. MOO

Charles owned a small business.

If Mrs. X has access, she can certainly do as much damage as she can before the courts catch up to her. And that's usually a lot by the way. She's very likely gonna have to get in front of a judge, but "can" is not the same as "will."
I feel certain that Charles was just living in such a chaotic state. IMO, He thought about the life insurance because he was fearful of his life. But just a short while before he died, he dismissed divorce papers and was trying to make "something" happen with Lori . I am convinced Lori was lying/sweet talking/manipulating Charles BECAUSE she didn't want him to disrupt any of the potential money sources. She probably studied all the assets and how to get to them quickly, as soon as she got rid of him... So, I just think the only "lucky" thing here is that he DID in fact change the life insurance. Grateful he had a sensible loving sister, because together they were thinking about caring for JJ. i don't think Charles was prepared for what happened, and had not protected the other assets.

I think LE confirmed she had it and other posters established she would likely have it thru her work. We don't know the amount AFAIK.
$400,000 according to Dateline

There really is no point to it, they have zero standing for custody. And they really have zero standing for even having contact or phone calls. But, I agree, Lori did it for control. She could, so she did.

That still doesn't explain Tylee's disappearance.

But, after hearing what a great Mother Lori was, it fits with narcissism. She was a good Mother, for herself, so other people would say how awesome she was. The child is an extension of her, so if the child has any flaws, isn't pretty enough, smart enough, whatever, it is useless to the narcissistic. Useless.
Well even KW stated she was a good mother until the cult took her over and then she said and did weird stuff.
So what chance realistically has KW (bio grandma) have over LVD and CD (adopted mother and step father) of gaining custody and guardianship? The state has to get the custody first, so what are their chances? Assuming they get it, then what chance that KW and LW will get guardianship?

Do we really know how successful it was. Plenty of small businesses have no retirement plans.

That's seems more than the average employee life insurance...but it's been awhile....I think hubby had a $10,000 policy through his work. It was a nominal thing.....

Prior to LV hiding the kids, KW would have zero chance of getting custody. Now I think it's inevitable. The process will take awhile, though. moo

Do you think they still have their passports then? I figured they wouldn't. If the search warrant took their phones and purse contents don't you think the passports were confiscated too? I suppose it is irrelevent as the latest article from Nate says FBI and LE would be tracking their movements anyway.

Thanks for @jjenny - I love your reasonable and measured posts. I think like you. Very logical! No way the kids are alive. MOO

I have a sense that he is as much psychopath as she is.

I'm thinking he's not so much a sociopath as much as he suffers from delusions of grandeur.

And she fuels it. They're perfect for each other. He'll serve her psychopathic needs and she'll serve his impotent delusions of being anything more than a grave digger.

They are probably mad at Lori and the media but not at Dad Chad IMO.

That's my thinking, but that post implied that Chad's kids were mad at him. I can't rule it out, but based on what I've seen any anger they have is with LE and the media.

I don't think that United States citizens can have their passports confiscated unless they have been arrested or charged with a crime.

Lori and Chad Daybell have not been charged with any wrongdoing.

The consensus here is that Lori and Chad still have their passports.
