I really, really hope you are right but I just don't think this is going to end well. For two broke people, they are really living the high life in Hawaii. Where did that money come from?

As for the psych evaluation, the one and only criteria she had to meet was that she was not an immediate danger to herself or others. Easy enough hurdle for a sociopath.
They may quite well have laid a stash from two life insurance policies... JJ's share of Charles, unless hidden behind a trust / trustee, and then Tammy's life insurance. We don't know the status of either, but it's my guess at least one of those, if not both, have cashed in to fund this fiasco.

I would second you on this.

My reservation is that I think TD's death might be a separate issue.

Agreed, that is a different jurisdiction.

Glad they were found. Here I was thinking they were in a cave somewhere in the middle of nowhere, living off dehydrated potatoes and powdered milk. But no, they were in Hawaii living their best life!

Evidently LE cannot arrest them, but will they keep them under 24 hour surveillance until Thursday? What if they want to book flights (not to Idaho).

Is anyone concerned these two might commit suicide?

That’s the first thing I thought of. Murder-suicide or two suicides.

Might not matter if they know. Right now they haven't done anything that would justify taking their passports away. They wont be in contempt until Thursday ends. Couldn't they just skip out to another country, legally, no hiding needed? They could send for the kids when everything has died down. I cant see there being an extradition from a foreign country (especially one without a history of US relations) for a custody issue.

Yeah, taking away a passport isn't something I could see them doing. But I was thinking they could maybe not let them through security. TSA is going to, at a minimum, check the ticket and the ID and if they are flagged would know it was them, but I suppose if they can't arrest them (or actually call in someone from an actual LE agency to do so) that they wouldn't have a way to stop them

Another musing I had this afternoon while running errands....I really don't care at this point if they don't ever charge Lori with murder. All I really want, is for her to go to jail, be it only 5 years for contempt...I'll take that. Be it in Hawaii while Idaho tries to extradite her...I will take that. I want her under lock and key. I want her smugness wiped off her face and for her to experience prison life...all that it entails. MOO

I'm not so sure they have any life insurance proceeds. TD died late October. The payout would not have been until late November at the earliest and likely later because of the holidays. By then police were suspicious so I am almost certain there would be a holdup. Plus they were on the run.

CV died possibly while committing a crime. Hitting someone with a bat is battery! I'm not saying he did it but there would be enough questions to hold up any payout I would think. And remember, the insurance company profits if they don't have to pay.

I think Lori likes herself too much for suicide. And, Chad is still too enamored with her to do anything.

I want to know who is going to be at the SLC airport with a large banner and balloons when they arrive. ? I think they will come back just because of sheer arrogance and being smarter and above the rest of us. "IF" a friend or family member has had JJ and Tylee all this time, we have questions for them too. You can explain to America why you were involved in this when months ago you could have stepped forward saving time and expense of a worried community and some Grandparents who put up a reward.

Nice bunker.
If someone can find the listing for this rental the calendar might tell us when they started renting!

I guess Nate thought the chances were higher that she cared more about her mother's opinion than her son's, which is probably a good call :( .

I wonder if Nate realizes that JJ's grandparents Kay and Larry, who he asked about, when he said "your mother Kay" are not Lori's parents? Kay is Lori's former sister-in-law, the sister of Lori's murdered husband Charles Vallow. And she is also JJ's biological grandmother-- Charles and Lori adopted JJ. I can't blame anyone for getting the relationships wrong as it's hard to keep straight but I wonder if Nate asked that question on purpose hoping to get a reaction from Lori? Too bad Lori didn't take the bait.

MOO.

Yep. There's a LOT going on with this case that hasn't come out yet. LE from several agencies are producing so much smoke that there has to be fire.

My gut is saying that offing the three spouses was planned and humming along nicely until Tylee threw a wrench in the works. Probably during those first few weeks in Rexburg. Maybe she threatened Alex or her mom or both. Then the children disappeard, Brandon was shot at and Tammy died. You can almost connect the dots. MOO

I wondered same thing. Did he miss speak or say Kay to rattle Lori?

I think if these two made any effort to flee the country, law enforcement would move on them (assuming they have enough to do so).

Even if it means expediting charges.

If they had enough to move on them, they would have moved on them the other day. They must have something, but not quite enough yet if they're searching the car and townhouse.

I don't think they have enough to charge anyone with a serious crime at this point. If they try to book an international flight the options are limited from Kauai, possibly only Japan. So that means a stop in HNL where they can be stopped. If they do get on a Japan-bound flight in Lihue, there are 7 hours to notify the Japanese to stop them upon entry. So I don't think LE is concerned about them successfully fleeing.

I think the searches were more about intimidation and letting them know the noose is tightening. Because there seems to have been little chance they would bring anything incriminating to Hawaii.

if the two children are just fine then what is the logical excuse for hiding them? does this god just want a break from her responsibilites of day to day parenting of her two children?

Any devices would be important, especially cell phones and computers.

Other than that though, there can’t be much to seize.

Wouldn't the searches have been for phones, laptops, tablets etc. to see if there had been any communication with people who might be hiding the kids, or about plans to cash out life insurance policies, that kind of thing? Moo
