The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office was notified Saturday of the discovery of skeletal remains of what appears to be a young child between the ages of one and five years old by Idaho Fish and Game officers just north of Mountain Home. The remains were partially uncovered inside a badger hole.

It is clear by the condition of the remains that they have been buried for a considerable amount of time. There were no fibrous materials such as clothing located with the remains.

Thank you for starting this thread!
I started to message Bessie last night about re-opening the thread I think we're thinking about, but I didn't finish it.

Are you thinking it's DKj, too?

I posted this on DeOrr's thread:

Looking at kids missing in that area and age range. Interestingly, except for April Bowdish who went missing about the same time as DeOrr, they're all boys.

Two boys missing from the Boise area in the 1980's, which is a bit longer than the time frame estimated:

Curtis Fair, missing from Nampa ID in 1980: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/f/fair_curtis.html
http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/130dmid.html

Jason Cannon, missing from Boise in 1983. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/cannon_jason.html
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/2079/2/
http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/130dmid.html

Interestingly, they're both age 2 and both blond and cute like DeOrr.

Ruben Felix disappeared in 1997 so he fits the time frame better. He disappeared from Shoshone, ID, near Twin Falls, so also a geographic possibility.

There's also Richard Barnett, missing from Grangeville in 1982, but that's several hours north so less likely. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/2070/1/

Yeah, I thought Felix was by far the most likely.

Reading about all of them together, at once, is really sad.
One is bad enough.

that does fit with the felix case....

It definitely does fit. Authorities have to be looking at him at this stage with the 15-20 year age range.

Article from KSL: https://www.ksl.com/?sid=43913936&nid=1418

Hollinshead says there are no indications of the gender of the remains, but anthropologists will start working today to determine how old the child was when he or she died.

According to the Smithsonian Natural Museum of Natural History, skeletal remains can be good age markers because teeth and bones mature at fairly predictable and documented rates.

Teeth are the most accurate age indicators for toddlers and individuals up to the age of 21. Like many other mammals, humans have two sets of teeth – “baby” teeth and permanent teeth.

Hollinshead says once the age is determined, officials will work to see how long the remains have been buried.

Wow 15-20 years, that's so sad. Sometimes I sit and think about all the bodies that are possibly out there, and we may never find them :nerves:

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — The Elmore County Sheriff's Office says that they have determined that the human remains found near Hot Creek Road over a week ago are actually two sets of human bones.
The sheriff's office says the remains appear to be of two children, one possibly three to five years old, and a second set belonging to a child possibly four to nine years old. The two sets were buried on top of one another.

So.... that kinda eliminates Ruben right? He doesn't have a missing sibling?
I'm thinking the most reasonable explanation is Oregon Trail. Unless there is one I'm missing? I know there are a couple of sibling groups missing but wow...

Are there any missing sibling pairs or groups in the surrounding states?
The Skelton boys are from Michigan and the Hoggle kids are Maryland. I'm drawing a blank on any that might fit.
Never mind how strange of a case it would be.

Maybe it's two different abductions with the same burial site? Similar to Kara and Jessica?
