Definitely not, IMO. There’s nothing to suggest he’s connected in any way other than proximity (which is still hundreds of miles away). He is believed to have killed himself or is laying low “off grid”.

Definitely not? I mean, the man is a known survivalist from the state right next to Coeur d'Alene which is literally on the border of Washington. We know he's armed and hasn't been seen in weeks. I can't imagine why someone would think that it is definitely not him. Not saying 100% sure it is, but it certainly seems quite possible.

Because there is nothing about killing your children in a divorce dispute that suggests the next move would be to ambush a bunch of firefighters.

It's interesting because we often hear that people believe there are more than one shooter in these types of situations. Not sure if it is confusion, fear, echoing sounds effects, etc...I'm not a gun expert so I have no idea, but I hear this a lotl I think it's the one guy because they lifted the shelter in place, so they seem to believe the threat is gone.

During the presser the Sherriff also seemed to believe it was multiple. It’s hard for one person to lay fire down for hours and hours. I’m anxious to hear the facts.

There's nothing about killing your own children for any reason is rational at all, so if a man is willing to kill his own children, God only knows what is going on in his messed up mind. My guess is that he was hiding up in there and perhaps accidentally set the fire and didn't want to be discovered, so took out the firefighters and then ultimately knew he was surrounded so ended it. IMO.

I kind of really hope it is Decker because if not, that means he's still out there somewhere. There are a lot of lunatics in this world, but would love to hear Decker would be out. My heart goes out to the families of these brave firefighters who didn't deserve this. Very sad situation.

The sherriff said based on preliminary investigation the fire was set as a trap to lure the firefighters. Either way they have a suspect deceased, so they know if it’s Decker or not. Personally there is nothing that would lead me to that conclusion.

Staging crossed my mind....a poor bloke who was shot and staged with a firearm.
But that's my suspicious mind....and too movie-ish.

Well, know that you're not alone! My skeptical brain went to the same place. It seems like they lifted the shelter-in-place so quickly, which seems odd to me. But, they must have compelling evidence (that we may not be hearing at the moment) to feel so certain that the danger has passed.
