And the boyfriend used his SUV to try to hide the evidence

Ivan, I agree with you completely, the videos have nothing to do with the crime

  • #203

nothing to do with the case really but someone had posted this myspace page earlier: http://www.myspace.com/shortysgirl200146311

She and Layn Branson apparently have a child or children together based on a court case regarding child support with Health & Welfare. Layn is the brother of Charles Manwill's current wife Afton (at least according to the media...).

Anyway, there is a warrant out for her arrest. (her name is listed on her myspace page) Looks like she received a couple of DUI's and hasn't been showing up for court.

Actually, Aidan is the baby and the "ex-boyfriend" is assumed to be Aidan's father. If Ehrlich IS the "ex-boyfriend" it seems unlikely Charles Manwill wouldn't fight really hard against visitation with him present. The older child is from a different father (Ames). Basically, I'm looking for evidence that proves Daniel and Melissa are not brother/sister. If Ehrlich is the violent ex-boyfriend, than EVERYONE dropped the ball and fed Robert to the wolves considering the affadavit for custody by Charles Manwill. Read the article and see what you think.

Let's simplify this and not confuse the issue. Robert was doing a weekend visit, and mom wanted to see him so took the day off of her night work, and it was a fun party so mom liked to do her drinking and drugs, so got a bit drunk, and then got into an argument with Robert, and the rest is history. The SUV was used by J's boyfriend to try to hide the trouble that resulted. Some comment in the past looked at J's reaction when her sister asked for more volunteers to look for Robert, J moved forward and pulled her sis back. The boyfriend clearly loves J, as can be seen in the videos, and he would probably do anything to hide any evidence, and the SUV was right there, with a good place to set a body to take up to the canal and drop down...end of matter, until now. The two of them never considered that it would be found so fast, and that is probably the reason they got all psycho and hospital and alone, and not wanting to be public.

I personally think that J killed her child, Robert, but it was an "accident" if you will, and will be second degree murder

Normcar, please don't state your opinion as fact. We have not had confirmation on what happened to Robert. The law enforcement in this case are still working on that. If you feel you may have the correct information, maybe you should contact them.

Also, Ivan's was simply posting a video tribute for Robert. Not being a troll. Not posting irrelevant things. Thank you for sharing, Ivan's.

I liked it too Ivan's....:blowkiss:

Normcar, I think you misunderstood Ivan's intent. It was a heartfelt tribute to little Robert. Watch the video and it will make more sense.

Interesting article:
Robert lived primarily with his father, Charles, in New Plymouth - an arrangement crafted after Jenkins was laid up in the hospital for a few weeks before Aidan was born and she had no one to take care of Robert.

An affidavit that Charles Manwill filed at the time to get temporary custody of Robert states that Jenkins told him she "was being physically abused by her ex-boyfriend (the apparent father of the unborn child)."

He added that the hospital "has kept the admission of mother Melissa, and her room number, secret because mother Melissa is concerned that the ex-boyfriend may storm into the hospital and mother Melissa's room and cause extreme trouble."

Ehrlick Jr. also has been barred from being around Jenkins' daughter, not from anything he did, but because the father, Raymond Ames, said he didn't like him or want him around the toddler. The girl lived with Melissa Jenkins until Ames got custody last year.

I hate to sound obsessed, but I'm not convinced Ehrlick, Jr is not Melissa's brother. I found it interesting that the court papers referred to an "ex-boyfriend" that even Jenkins had expressed fear of. Would she reconcile with him? Most reports have identified Ehrlick as the father of the abused child, but this account makes it seem as if Ehrlick is not that person. Why would Charles Manwill not vehemently fight the visitation if Ehrlick was the violent "ex-boyfriend"?

Heck, I just realized the article identifies the father and it's a different child. Sheesh...ok, he's not her brother. I did e-mail the reporter to confirm how he got the brother info. I'll let ya know if I get a reply. In the meantime, I'm resting my frazzled brain.

My brain was frazzled too Underdog and I also emailed the reporter just to get some clarification. :blowkiss:

This is for Robert.

My grandson, just one grade behind Robert, and could pass for Robert's younger brother.
Anyway, he loves these. He makes me play them over and over.

I have a feeling Robert would like them as much. Try to look past the commercial part of the first one.

Dear Robert, run fast, run strong, and fly high!

Warning, make sure your volume is on low if someone is sleeping.

I find them oddly soothing at a time like this.
(looking at photo#4 threw me over the edge)

These videos were PERFECT! What little boy doesnt love a pirate. I'd like to think little Robert had this beautiful horse waiting for him at the side of the canal to take him on his final ride up to heaven. They were soothing videos, especially the one with the horses and I want to thank-you for sharing them with us! :blowkiss:

Boise Police has changed thier news release link for Robert to say this:

Boise Police Department News Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 30, 2009
Missing boy case now a Homicide
Wednesday, August 5th - Boise Police have received confirmation from the Ada County Coroner's officer that the body found in a canal Monday, August 3rd is that of missing 8 year old Robert Manwill, 8. Click here for the latest on, what is now a homicide investigation.

Comments from Deputy Chief Jim Kerns, Boise Police Department, 6:00 p.m. Media Briefing, Wed., Aug. 5, 2009

Good afternoon, I’m Deputy Chief Jim Kerns with the Boise Police Department. Standing behind me is the Chief of Police of the Boise Police Department, Michael Masterson.

The information we can release today is in cooperation with the Ada County Coroner’s Office. The expertise of the Coroner’s office has been a valuable new tool for investigators in this case.

The body of the boy found in the New York Canal on Monday was positively identified this afternoon as that of 8 year old Robert Manwill.

Preliminary results of the autopsy give us reason to believe 8 year old Robert Manwill’s death was NOT an accident.

The case is now being investigated by the Boise Police Department as a homicide.

There remains NO evidence that Robert was abducted by a stranger.

We believe we will determine when and how Robert died, and who is responsible.

We will hold those responsible for Robert’s death accountable for their actions.

Our focus today remains the same as it was on July 24th… on Robert… and to find answers to what happened to cut short the life of this little boy.

Because this is now an active homicide investigation, as with any investigation of this type, we will not be able to hold the daily news briefings we’ve held for the past eleven days.

This is now a criminal investigation… and our justice system demands criminal investigations, no matter how complex, be thorough and methodical.

Please understand, we cannot compromise legal procedures and the integrity of this very important case with the premature release of investigative details.

This investigation is proceeding with urgency, and more answers will be made available at the appropriate time.

Citizens have been incredibly supportive of our efforts… and we appreciate that support more than words can say.

Our local media has been very responsive in helping us keep our community informed.

Keeping this community informed has been an important strategy in this investigation. You will be notified as soon as we have another major announcement in this case.

Justice will not be denied for Robert Manwill.

Thank you.

I personally think the boyfriend looks very scared in those pictures. Almost like he's about to panic. Like someone who's trying not to look scared. There's grief on his face but it looks like it's a panic grief. You know what I'm saying? Cuz he's so close to being found out. He's going crazy I'm sure...he knows his days are numbered until he's held accountable.

Now that would be really ***ked up if they are brother and sister. Oh...boy would it be messed up. Not surprising...but I don't think so. I've got to get some sleep...i'm so dang tired...check back in morning..nite

It was not an accident. It is a murder investigation. There was no abduction. What else does LE have to say?

If he wasn't abducted, he didn't leave the house alive and someone in that house killed him. Who was there? BF. And later, Mom.

End of stroy.

Judging by these court records, it looks as though the youngest is Ehrlick's child and that she did go back to him. Unless of course she had another whacko bf in between, which wouldn't surprise me either.

That sums it up quite nicely. That is my opinion as well. LE should be able to find out if MJ was working or not quite easily. How and when he was moved to the canal is another story, but if MJ was not there DE had an hour and half to take care of his business alone.

If you go to the 4 case down and look at the second case you will see there is a case with health and welfare against both Ehrlick and Jenkins for child support
