LOL...my husband doesn't like her EITHER!!! And its his own biological MOM! Its not just the problem of agreeing or disagreeing. She is the most selfish person that I know...

Ouch. My husband can't stand his mother in law slightly less than I can't stand her :D

No, most people that I talk to, can't comprehend it. She is just an oddball. We go back and visit my family and his, once a year..and one time, when my youngest daughter was about 1 and 1/2....my MIL had gone to the store, and came back with some stuffed animals. And I thought...how sweet, she actually bought her something. Well, the stuffed animals were for her POODLES to play with. They have money...but, all of it is spent on either her, and her liposuctions, and face-lifts...or those dang poodles. That same time that we were visiting...I heard my MIL talking in another room...and she was saying..."You are soooo pretty, and you have the most gorgeous eyes"...and I thought....(I should have known better) .....oh, how sweet...she is complimenting my youngest daughter...who DOES have huge, blue eyes. Well, when I walked into the room, she was still dishing out the compliments...but only then did I realize that she was holding her POODLE up to her face, and talking to IT!!! She is such a weirdo. I have to admit...I have never, EVER met another grandmother like her. She is definately one of a kind. The most selfish woman that you would ever meet. 90 percent of all grandparents, feel the same way that you do....and that's the same way that my husband and I will feel when WE have grandchildren. My father-in-law is just as bad with the poodles...he never would invite either one of my girls, to go for a ride in his truck...even though he knew they that they wanted to go with him, but yet...he would always take his poodles. My husband said, that those poodles will have to be the ones caring for them, when they end up in a nursing home. ...LOL

They will prbably lave the inheritance to the poodles too YUCK!!

LOL...yep...probably!! When my MIL got her first poodle, my brother-in-law...said..."That poodle eats better than I do, I have accepted the fact...that I am NOW a middle child". LOL

Notice how people rarely have problems with a father-in-law!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to go hide now.

LOL! don't hide Albert..it's true ! as long as a father knows his son inl is working hard, taking care of and treating his daughter well, that's good enough for him,(as it should be).
But Mil's can be a whole different story!

LOL...my husband doesn't like her EITHER!!! And its his own biological MOM! Its not just the problem of agreeing or disagreeing. She is the most selfish person that I know...her poodles come before her children or grand-children. My list could go on and on...about things that she has done. My husband had to go into therapy because of her....she has severe problems. Yeah, maybe I will miss her when she dies...but, I sure will not miss her selfish ways. I HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS!!! OMG....okay, she had always wanted a little girl, but she had two boys instead. Well, everytime I get pregnant....or my sister-in-law gets pregnant....my MIL says that she wants another grand-daughter....she has three...soon to be four of them. Well, when my SIL had her boy, it was born pre-mature and almost died. My MIL wouldn't even come up to see it at the hospital...BECAUSE it was a BOY!!! My SIL called her and said..."Why haven't you been to see your grand-son"....and my selfish MIL...says..."Well, because I just don't think that I could LOVE a little BOY!" So, my SIL says..."Well, you may not love him, but he loves you."
What exactly does that say for the two sons that she raised???
Well, thats the type person that I have to deal with. That's why I say that I "do not particularly like" my mother-in-law. She is a real piece of work.

I always knew my late MIL had a twin.

I know...isn't it though. I am going to start saying that to people that I hate. LOL "You know....I have been thinking....and I have come to the realization....that I do not particularly like you". It's just another way of saying "NOT REALLY". For example..."do you like me?"....Answer: "Well, no....not particularly...(not really)". What in the world kind of kidnapper/murderer...says such a thing? GOOD GRIEF!
IDIs on the Crime Library board have said that using word and phrases like "two gentlemen" and "don't particularly like you" were meant to be condescending and sneering.
Maybe Patsy was trying to sound like a gangster in a mafia movie when she wrote that? ("See those two gentlemen over there at the bar? They don't particularly like you. Don't mess with them or you'll be worm food faster than you can say 'pizza mafiosa'!") .
English is not my first language, and I'd be interested in your opinion.

I personally don't think Patsy meant it to sound sarcastic, but it is just a gut feeling.

my word...think not.no intruder wrote it,for one thing.

sounds likely, good thought! I think she was trying to use wording out of movies..just the actress in her.no way could I ever think it was some teenage or 20-30 something movie buff...that was the R's doing nothing more than creating a diversion from themselves.
I do think JR helped her write it though.

No, I don't think that she was trying to be sarcastic. I think that its ridiculous to think that someone that "didn't particularly like" John, would break into his home and molest and kill his daughter, and leave a 2 1/2 page ransom note. I say that I don't particularly like someone....if maybe there is something about that person that I don't like, but I don't HATE them. Like for example, there is this girl that I don't really get along with...I don't hate her...and I don't dis-like her to the point that I don't speak to her. BUT....I don't particularly like her. I am friendly to her....and I speak to her....but....I don't particularly like her. I would never use that word to be saracastic, and I don't see how it could be taken that way.

I think that he did too....he is a very smart man, and I believe, that for good reason....he didn't trust her to write that very important piece of evidence all on her own. Shoot...he didn't even trust her to speak on her own, during televised interviews.

Welcome Fenton: I'm one of the few IDI ers here, however I RARELY venture into this forum because it's like watching a record spin 'round and 'round. Until there is something new, it's been debated and most people will never change their minds on how they've summed up the evidence, on either side.

Best of luck. I'm on your team but I'm benching myself for a while longer.

I very much agree with this statement. I think John could release a statement tomorrow stating what happened that night and a lot of people would reject his statement if it didn't match what they thought happened.

And I agree with YOUR statement. I have said all along, that if John or Patsy had of confessed, that there are people out there...that are so convinced of their innocence...that would say that the only reason that they were confessing, is because they were still so distraught, and didn't know what they were doing...or because they were pressured into doing it, or that the real "intruder" had threatened Burke, etc.

Actually, it's not "don't particularly like you". It's "do particularly like you" with the word "not" inserted after sentence had been completed. It also looks like, at least to me, that the letter "r" in "your" was also added after the sentence was completed due to the decreased spacing between the "r" in "your" and the "d" in "daughter" when compared to the other "your daughter"s in the note. Also, the angle of the downstroke of the "r" in "your" is very similar to the final downstroke of the letter "m" in "them".

LOL..right.

Since it is highly unlikely that he will confess to something that may land him in jail , what could he possible have to say at this point that he hasn't already said? So, yes those who have not believed the lies so far will continue to not believe the lies.

HMMMM....Do particularly like you....I had forgotten about the word "not" being inserted. Now...what sort of kidnapper makes THAT sort of mistake? (The gentlemen...."do particularly like you".) IMO...someone that DOES particularly like him.....uhhhh....his own wife!!!

I think that if he were hung up and shocked with electrical probes....then he MIGHT start talking. LOL But, of course....THAT will never happen. I hope that after he dies, that Burke or SOMEBODY that knows SOMETHING...(and I have a feeling that there is someone, or alot of someones, that knows the truth.), will spill the beans.

I've often wondered if the Stine's son knows something..he may have overheard a lot when the R's were staying with them.

OH NOOOOO!! You mean that there was another one like MINE!?!?!?!

Oh yes...SHE was one of the reasons I chose to come online many yrs ago...as of course you know there are no "I have horrible in-laws" support groups(LOL :) ).So I found an inl support board and I made a lot of great friends there...many of whom I still keep in touch with. We've even gotten together in person. It was great support. And it weren't for her,I wouldn't have those great friends now.
When life hands you lemons...you know the saying,I'm sure :)

True- there is no statute of limitations on murder. But he could always put the entire blame on his wife- who obviously is not here to be prosecuted or deny it. There would be some criminal culpability for being an accessory after the fact (staging the body and crime scene), but he could always get those R dream -team lawyers to take care of that.

It will be interesting to see if and when BR talks. Sometimes kids repress traumatizing details. BR is still young. One day he'll marry. He'll confide in his wife. Then they'll get divorced and she'll get $$$ for the goods on the JBR murder.
