IMO, the DP is the only thing that will actually affect KC mentally, the only thing that will scare her. In prison, she will encounter other women with the same narcissistic and other personality disorders that she has. She will make friends, go to movies, listen to music, read, watch tv, exercise, etc.... While I do agree that child killers are viewed as the lowest of the low among criminals, women are not notorious for killing them while in prison the same way that it occurs in men's prisons, so this is why I believe she will go on with her life behind bars, and as long as she can command some attention and have others to manipulate, she'll be fine with it. The DP is the only bargaining chip the prosecution has to try to finagle a plea out of her, and a plea is the only way we MIGHT find out the truth, because verifiable allocution will be required.
The only other thing I can think of is please remember that we haven't heard anything about what the testimony of her former best friend will be, or others, and there might very well be eyewitness evidence of child abuse (drugs), and hopefully the FBI toxicology reports will tell much. I hope for the DP, but of course, we'll all have to settle for what actually comes out at the end.
