Why not? Cause of death was never established for Lacy Peterson either.

I feel confident that prosecution will succeed in getting a murder 1 conviction with DP sentence. I remember back in the Peterson trial, no one thought he would ever get convicted let alone DP, because of it being all circumstancial. Well there is alot more evidence in this case. I truly believe KC is headed for Death Row.

In Florida Life does not mean LWOP. The person who attacked me and was an excapee from work release in FL who was 5 years into a 60 year sentence and already in a work release program. He was then sentenced to 5 Life sentences for the crimes committed against me but in the plea bargain the judge had to decide if they run concurrent or consecutive. It has been 18 years and he has not come up for parole.

IMO, the DP is the only thing that will actually affect KC mentally, the only thing that will scare her. In prison, she will encounter other women with the same narcissistic and other personality disorders that she has. She will make friends, go to movies, listen to music, read, watch tv, exercise, etc.... While I do agree that child killers are viewed as the lowest of the low among criminals, women are not notorious for killing them while in prison the same way that it occurs in men's prisons, so this is why I believe she will go on with her life behind bars, and as long as she can command some attention and have others to manipulate, she'll be fine with it. The DP is the only bargaining chip the prosecution has to try to finagle a plea out of her, and a plea is the only way we MIGHT find out the truth, because verifiable allocution will be required.
The only other thing I can think of is please remember that we haven't heard anything about what the testimony of her former best friend will be, or others, and there might very well be eyewitness evidence of child abuse (drugs), and hopefully the FBI toxicology reports will tell much. I hope for the DP, but of course, we'll all have to settle for what actually comes out at the end.

I agree that the death penalty will be much worse for Casey. She'd be more secluded and she likes to be around people to talk talk talk and manipulate. One a person gets into their early fifties it doesn't seem quite as old. Casey could get out and go on to harm someone else even in her fifties or sixties.

Thanks, RR, for your hard work on this issue! I live in FL and did not know this. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Also, I had the feeling with the Scott Peterson trial that he would not get the DP and was absolutely shocked when he did. Don't get me wrong, I wanted him to get the DP but I just did not believe that he would. I remember being in a daze after they read the sentence because I really thought I had heard wrong.

God bless all those who have given to try to bring justice to Caylee.

Sincerely,
BeagleMom

It was my honor to help fight for what should have been a given in the first place! I do not know how long you have lived here in our Great State, but in the mid 80's thru 1996, Floridians suffered through an Early Release of Prisoners Crisis, literally a Revolving Door as the Inmates went In and Out without any fear of committing their next crime since there was close to no retribution if they were caught - only because the State did not keep up with the increasing population and ran out of prison space.....soooooo instead of building new facilities, the Inmates earned credit for good behavior just for waking up......a typical example at that time was Seven Years for Second Degree MURDER!

Don't even get me started on who and how Notification of Sexual Offenders was initiated......:woohoo:

My goodness......I am so sorry that you were touched by one the Monsters that live all around us.......but you are a rare success story from that time period when things where at it's worst and you will have people to stand beside you should you ever receive THAT letter in the mail......:blowkiss:

I know,I guess I still would have wanted them to be able to explain the jury how it happened,it would have had a different impact.
