Like Dave Chappelle said..."MAGA people don't even know the show, "Empire". They wouldn't know JS from any other guy in Chicago at 2am with a sammich. Just saying.

BTW, I never heard of the show.

If Abimbola saw anything on the news about Smollett being attacked, he was supposed to send Smollett a condolence letter "to show that I wasn’t a part of it," he testifies.

Smollett gave Abimbola the $3500 check right at the end of the dry run. "He handed it to me and then that was it. Jurors once again viewing the check, which has "5 week nutrition/workout program" in the memo line

Abimbola had never indicated to Smollett that he expected to be paid for anything -- not for the meal/training plan, nor for the fake attack, he testifies.

Smollett was also supposed to give the brothers $500 upon their return from Nigeria, Abimbola said. "I thought the money was for a meal plan and the exercise program and also for the fake attack," he said."

"The brothers deposited the check Jan. 28, then bought supplies including a red hat and ski masks with the $100 bill Smollett had given them, Abimbola says. He later went to buy rope from the Crafty Beaver."

"Scratch that, they deposited the $3500 check *after* they bought the supplies. My apologies. "

The attack was planned for Jan. 28 but Smollett's flight to Chicago that night was repeatedly delayed, Abimbola said. Smollett said he would post about the delays on his Instagram story so Abimbola should check there for updates on when he'd be back in town."

Abel says he would have gone through with plan even if he didn't get paid because he looked at Jussie as a brother.


Jussie wanted Abel to send a condolence letter after the attack to show that he wasn’t part of it, Abel testified.

There was discussion as to who was going to do the punching. Smollett wanted Abel to do because he didn't trust Ola to "pull" his punches



"I believe he said there was going to be a camera to capture the fake attack—that he wanted a camera to capture the fake attack." He wanted to use the fake attack footage for media, he testified.

The brothers walked around Streeterville in the cold for a while, killing time until Smollett showed up, Abimbola testified. Then they saw him. "I said 'hey, aren’t you that Empire f----t?' and we said the other words, and my brother said 'This is MAGA country,'" Abimbola says.

"That’s when I proceeded to punch him in the face and tussle," Abimbola continued. "… I threw him to the ground, put the bruise on his face, then I saw some car lights and then ran away."

"Abimbola says he was able to grind his knuckles into Smollett's face, which was part of the plan to make sure he had a bruise. "

"The brothers ran off (Abimbola says he encountered a security guard who aimed a flashlight at his face), then took a cab to Wrigleyville and walked the 4-5 blocks back to their apartment, he testifies."

If JS had just signed a paper, admitted guilt, paid his fine and moved on, no one would even care now. He has stead fastly refused to acknowledge any part of this situation.

The fact that he was terminated from his position in his show, was significant to me. A bit too much drama for them.

JS really needs mental health assessment. I see this as the next move.

Maybe he can do a show with Lori Loughlin???

And NOW the defense is trying to use that stupid decision of using a check, as a DEFENSE====saying who'd be stupid enough to do that?

Ha...your client, that's who!

I think it shows that he had no idea that anyone would ever connect the brothers to this crazy event. And JS writes checks like that all of the time, as an actor. He pays for a lot of services so just looking at his check book wouldn't have helped anything, if they hadn't had reason to believe those 2 were the MAGA Klansmen.

No surprise they wanted to start fresh tomorrow. I am sure the night lamps will be burning until late, as they go over today's damning testimony.

They are going to come at Abel with guns blazing in the morning. Their only chance in this trial is to make the brothers look like conmen.

That pesky run through in the Mercedes, is going to be hard to explain. If JS is going to stick with his story that he bought some illegal potions from Nigeria brought back by Abel, then they are going to have to come up with evidence of that, I suppose.

RSBM BBM Ha haaaa! So he was frothing at the mouth to get this horrific MAGA attack/lynching plastered all over media. He must have been livid when it wasn’t caught on camera. All the cameras around there and he somehow managed to find a blind spot.

I also love the cops saying it was so cold they did the walk through from a car.

There must have been something very incriminating on his cellphone. Off the top of my head, I'd suggest past text conversations and names included in his contact list.

But on top of that, he had been communicating with the 'MAGA Klansmen' that same night, when his plane was delayed. Which was a really lame thing to do....

"Osundairo is dressed in all black. Black leather jacket, black pants, carrying a water bottle. Crossing him is attorney Shay Allen. He's off to an argumentative start, asking Abel whether he thought Jussie could help him advance his acting career. "

"Allen is peppering Osundairo with questions: "When you first met Jussie, your goal was to get something from him, right?

Allen is now questioning Osundairo about what police found during the search of his apartment in the 4100 block of N. Ashland. In opening statements, Smollett's attorney called it "weapons of war." Actually it was a 12-gauge shotgun and 9mm pistol.
Also found: a .22-caliber Mossberg rifle."

"Allen just lobbed out bomb, asking, "When did you and Jussie start dating?
Osundairo answered, "What? We were never dating."

Now he's talking about them going to a bathhouse together called Steamworks in Boystown. Q: What is Boystown?
A: It's a neighborhood in Wrigleyville "

Q: Did you think Jussie had a crush on you?
A: No.
Q: Were you using the sexual tension between you to progress your acting career?
(A): I didn’t know there was sexual tension "

Allen has tried to question Osundairo on homophobia in Nigerian culture and whether it's illegal to be gay there. Prosecutors have repeatedly objected and at the end of the series Judge Linn cut Allen off. "He was born in Chicago. Sustained. Move on."
