Well, although I believe Smollett committed a hoax AND a hate crime, I’m aware that people can do some rather strange things when they’re in shock—so hanging on to a sandwich doesn’t seem all that strange to me. Definitely humorous, though!

Jussie Smollett’s lawyers have told an Illinois appellate court that it should toss the former “Empire” actor’s convictions for staging a racist, homophobic attack against himself in 2019 and then lying about it to Chicago police.

Apparently the postmaster IG has no desire to follow up on the "white powder" letter either. That seemed to me to merit more review. Terror threats, white powder letters are no joke.

IMO, Kim Fox is still in a powerful position with the Cook County Clan. She is NOT running for re-election in 2024, however she still has "people" in and around this case. She wanted all of JS's baloney story dismissed.....and it was. And, it still is...in a way.

Possibly. It is due to Kim Foxx inepitude. She recused herself, then dropped charges, and JS forfited the $10,000 and stated he did "community service". (Joke).

But JS attorneys keep harping on the double jeopardy issue. That KF gave JS a deal. So, he could hardly be tried on charges he already did restitution for...

Can someone start a petition to get Kim Foxx disbarred for her actions in this debacle!?

Jussie may ultimately benefit from the mess that Foxx made. I don't know what the appeals court will do but I don't have a lot of confidence. There is no doubt there were a lot of behind the scenes political strings being pulled in this case, so you never know who can be trusted.
I do think it is very appropriate that Foxx should face ethical consequences. Will she? She is part of the "machine" so I doubt it.

LOL. I suggested this in the beginning, go to rehab, plead some sort of drug induced insanity. Well, if he really needs it, I hope it helps.

I see this as a "back door" plea, he will want "time served" in rehabilitation to be part of his sentence. Not. He needs jail, not the spa rehabilitation center.
