Feithen says no to Sue Olsen, mom of missing Maple Park man Bradley Olsen who asked if LE thought that the remains might be another person.

Feithen says again they didn't tell Keller family about bones until they confirmed were human on Saturday...more LE in the park & DeKalb PD, NIU, County and ISP have stepped up patrols.

Apparently there is a reason LE can't id with dentals either - but I don't even want to allow my mind to think about why.... too too sad. (well, I'll say I am 99% sure LE can't id with dentals....)

Like everyone else, I am just sick and heartbroken about this. Somehow, some way -- we have to get the message out to young women that they *cannot* go to places such as parks alone. In fact, even in broad daylight, try to have a friend go places with you -- I keep thinking about the young lady who was abducted from the Target parking lot -- with people watching! All these talented, smart young women having their lives snuffed out by monsters -- week after week - and often times, we never see them coming, because some of them are sex offenders released from prison, and others have just managed to stay off the radar (Morgan Harrington's killer). I'm so sad -- a Mom and Dad sent their daughter off to college, and now she's gone....and the way she was taken -- horrifying...

Thanks to those of you who took the time to translate the press conference, very much appreciated. :hug:

What a sick, sick predator this turns out to be. Destroys the body of this beautiful young girl. Seems so strange that there was no odor noticed by those around - a burning body will cause tears, crying, it smells horrible.

Time to look for other MO's that may be similar. Can't imagine the pain this family is enduring.

and from what I know, a fire has to burn really hot & for a while to burn up a body til there's just bones, right? wouldn't somebody have noticed this - even if it was in a "dense" area? dunno - guess it depends on how thick the brush is where they found the remains.

If LE found the remains on the 16th, then they were looking...and who knows what all else they found in that park if there's a lotta transient camps.

Guess there's more info to hear at a later date that may explain more.

Just so sad for the family to have to know what happened to their daughter - just so brutal.

OMG, this is much worse that I expected to hear. How can a person burn a dead body in a public park. That is just beyond my imagination. This is one sick puppy who did this. I think the person who commented on this being a rape and cover up may be right. Reminds me of the recent Alicia Debolt case if true. I just have to wonder if all this happened in the park, how on earth could nobody see anything in broad daylight? All I can say is they better use all the resources they can get to catch this vile person.

Not sure where in Chicago Cubby, but getting on I88 East at or around DeKalb and going to the city would only be a couple hours or less. About 45 minutes to N. Aurora and another 45min to downtown Chicago. The perp could even live in Chicago. moo

That is what I was thinking also, but didn't want to say it. An abduction and assault somewhere else, and then a return to the park. But how could somebody bring a burned body back in their vehicle. :waitasec: That is sick to even think about.

im thinking since the clothes n belongings were close but not with the remains..and the facts that they can identify her clothing and the remains were burned i would think she was sexually assaulted, i cant believe someone would do this...its probably worse for the family bc the remains are in such terrible conditions they didnt even know they were human

I recall this being discussed in Caylee's thread. Someone posted the temperature that's required to burn a body; the point is, as you say, it's not just a matter of lighting a match. The discussion surrounded how cremation is accomplished in a chamber versus out in open air, etc.

What would that smell like? How much smoke would it produce? It's difficult to comprehend how someone could burn a human body undetected in Prairie Park. :waitasec:
