This is a pay to view link, but states the libel/slander suit was not filed in DuPage, but was filed in Kane County.

Giving this some more thought.... (and still looking for those links to the ancestry site links I can't seem to find on google archives- if possible)

ok, I can kind of get past LS having the need to burn the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 at the school. He would have been in hot water if that was found at a school, but why the need to burn it at home, AND why did he burn the overalls or clothing he supposedly wore that day?

Was it ever determined the overalls were what he wore to school that day? or clothing he had changed into the evening he went to assist with the search for Debbie?

Overalls seem like an odd thing for a teacher to wear to school while teaching.

I'm convinced this guy was swimming in a big ol' pool of guilty.

Makes me wonder what else was happening on that farm...Any other girls go missing in the area within a few years before Debbie's murder?

I'm thinking Jaycee Dugard...Sharon Marshall... Who knows. Babies don't just show up in boxes, and especially not to the prime suspects in child murder cases.

I have the how to and an ok to post the how to.

Those of you who have access to the links via ancestry or have a paid subscription would have to download or save the articles to your own computer. Then upload the article to a webhosting site such as http://imageshack.us/ then you can link to the imageshack link that hosts the article. If you wish to post them here.

I hope that makes sense....

I'm just seeing the red x at the link karefree. I've never done this myself, just asked someone how to do it.

thanks for trying!

Really? When I click on the link it takes me there. It takes a long time to load for some reason but it eventually does.

I wonder why it is working for me? This kind of stuff leaves me puzzled. I'll try to get my son to help me when he gets a chance.

I'm sorry it's not working. I thought I had done it!

Tried to cut and paste and it still won't let me do that either.

My sons girlfriend suggested that you wave your mouse over the X to see if you need an additional plug in. Or check at the top of the screen to see if there is a bar saying you need to download something additional.

If it still won't work or that info isn't there, I'll ask my son.

The link works fine for me...I see the image of the newspaper.

I can get the page to open without a red x but it only loads a small part of the top of the article. I, too have been having a hard time posting links from the Ancestry articles. I had success saving them to my computer to my favorites and then to a link folder and I could access them. I even had success and was able to view them from my desktop. But after a while they were no longer accessible. I was able to upload from paint but they did not copy the whole article. And when I was able to get the whole article it was too small to read! I'll work on this more tomorrow and if I have any luck I'll let you know.

THANK YOU karefree!

I tend to agree. LS's statements to LE are just too odd. As is the burning of both the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 and clothing. I can probably get past the 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 (Catholic guilt thing) but not the clothing. I can't fathom a reason an innocent person would burn the clothing they wore the day of the murder.

In one of the many articles, IIRC this was a snippet of what was shown at ancestry but unsure, it appears LS contradicted his statement to LE when he last saw Debbie. One read on a swing at about 5:30pm and he ordered her home. The other, what I made of it without the full article, was with a group of children from school who were also there late that day. anyone else run into that snippet?

I am so glad it is working. I'll try to do a few each day.

Thank you! I think that is a better option than my interpretation based on the library trip. This way more people can read the actual article. I'm still going to make the trip because I'm still curious about some other maps and things I might only find at the library..... but thank you a ton for doing this karefree!

I didn't answer your earlier question shadowangel. There were no other missing children from this immediate area during that time frame.

I can only see the top half of the article. Looks like you did a screen shot and I kept wanting to scroll to read the bottom half of the article but could not.
Also it was pretty blurry and really hurt the eyes to read.
I'm not sure how karefree downloaded to capture the full article. Maybe she can help.

thank you VERY much for trying!

Did the article say why this guy offered this information? Why make up a story about hearing this from the Fijan's neighbor? Was Bellecomo in any trouble himself? Or just seeking attention?

While we are searching articles, I can't help but have the following questions.

Questions regarding the white car and tire tracks at the location Deb was found and the school parking lot: One of the media articles mentioned a witness seeing Debbie talking to a man in a white car. IIRC, one of the articles indicated the tire tracks at the location Debbie was found, matched tire tracks to 'white car'? at the school lot. Also, it was reported Debbies father worked for a car dealer? (IIRC) Was it ever investigated if Debs father had any customers or coworkers who were friendly with the family who might have had that white car, maybe as a loaner?

Was it ever mentioned what LS was wearing that day? Honestly, 'overalls' seem more likely something he changed into for the search and not work attire he would have chosen to wear teaching that day. Where any of the witnesses interviewed to verify what LS was wearing that day?

What was the deal with the two knives? One article states LS turned over a knife to LE, another indicates a knife was found in the school gymnasium. Were both ever officially ruled out as the murder weapon? What other information is available regarding the type of weapon the coroner thought may be the murder weapon?

I'm sure I will have more questions later, but those for now.
