So they are saying the slots of fortune last-seen is false - that is pretty important, as it would mean someone is lying, as the same person she was supposedly with at slots is who she supposedly texted once she got home. This is the piece of the puzzle I wish we could work out together here - we really need a VI! Regardless I am happy to see Mike talking to the media.

It doesn't necessarily mean the person was lying. It could be the case - like it was with the Walmart information - that Emily and this other person went to Slots of Fortune on a different day. It could simply the case of someone trying to be helpful but providing outdated information that was effectively a false lead.

That said, if investigators learn that Emily and the other person had not been seen or known to be together at Slots of Fortune recently (there are almost certainly cameras and other means to determine that) then they will likely be looking at that person and their connections to other people.

I would hope that LE has (or shortly will have) information related to Emily's phone. They will know the last phones in contact with hers, when those contacts occurred, and where the phone was (approximately) up to and including the last ping and when that occurred. This is by far likely to be the most useful information to investigators. I would also hope that LE has (or shortly will have) information related to any and all online accounts. The NBC Missing in America article mentioned that the family had been able to get into various accounts including Emily's bank account to see if there was activity. This suggests a computer at home that has saved login information. LE should be able to leverage that information in terms of identifying the user names she used - especially if she uses the same user name on different services. This would allow LE to combine that information with information from the App Stores (Google/Apple) to identify other services that she only used from her phone that might use the same user name(s).

I have not seen it reported anywhere (including Facebook) that her home has been searched or her computer looked at, only that her phone is dead. The way they have reported the Stake n Shake last-seen makes me think they have confirmed or do not believe she ever made it home, so if a text does exist, it is a red herring.

What we may be able to do for them is check out backpage or follow the modelling breadcrumbs to try to gauge how real a trafficking or sex crime angle could be. I still think her stalker or person she began dating that no one knows is the mysterious missing piece here.

I know you have been trying to get a VI here. Even if they don't want to do that try to make sure that they look in on this thread from time to time. I would want to make sure that they definitely checked out all the multi-level parking garages that will cost them some minimum ($2-$4) just to drive through unless they walk them or if they are for an office building, apartment building or a university you may have to be a resident, employee, or student to get in there with a card. Same with a hotel, have to be a guest. So those might have to be done on foot. If the people out searching around didn't have the spare cash on them or wanted to spend the money those places may have been bypassed.

I'm just wondering have the investigators looked at pictures from the many tolls you have to take to get on the interstate to possibly travel somewhere? There's a toll on 73 to get on 90 and even Rockton road if they were to go North. The next one would be South Beloit exit, which they could have possibly taken to go north to WI, but I believe even that has some ability to take pictures. That's just a thought I had, if someone or she had taken her car to get away.

Also, have they considered searching the river? The parts of the Rock River I am familiar with are really not that deep, so I can't imagine it would be that difficult to search for a car that is submerged, if that is the case.

Also, does anyone know what the front end damage looked like on her car??

I drove down 73 today, the road that Steak N Shake is on and did not notice any tracks or anything that could point to someone accidentally drove into the water from the road.

There are a lot of businesses on 73 where that Steak N Shake is. It'd be interesting to know if any of them have surveillance video that can see the road and possibly see which direction she went in after leaving Steak N Shake.

I really really hope she is found safe and brought back to her family. It's breaks my heart seeing all these Facebook posts and so many people who are connected to her. I have several friends on Facebook who knew of her or knew her family. Every day I hope there's a headline that she's been found!!

Her bank account hasn’t been touched since her purchase at the eatery at 2:39 a.m. that Monday. Caitlin and their father, Tom Dull, have access to Anderson’s bank account and believe it was Emily who used her debit card to make the purchase. “If somebody else had that card other than her,” Tom said, it’s reasonable to believe that person would have incurred additional charges.

Initially, Caitlin said, the family thought police believed Anderson would return on her own. “I think they know by now she’s not galavanting; her car is not good enough to go to California.”


Caitlin said neither she nor police suspect a recent ex-boyfriend or her once-abusive, estranged husband, whom Emily hasn’t been involved with for years, had anything to do with her disappearance.

I think about Emily every day and am so heartbroken for her family and friends.
I hope the FBI does get involved and someone finds her car or a lead soon. If they haven't already, they may need to consider any roads that can potentially lead into water and whether she may have driven them for any reason. I still can't accept epilepsy as the cause of her disappearance until we can be sure those last with her are cleared and this stalker stuff is thoroughly investigated.

Off Alpine, one of those bodies of water is a lake. The northern-most one is a (former?) quarry. There is a steep inclined road that leads to the water with what looks like two trailers nearby. It is fenced and the gate at Maple avenue appears that it is secured in old Street View shots. It is possible that the fencing is not entirely intact or the gate truly secured. There are other places to look within the area particularly in Rockford. There are a number of abandoned buildings and I wonder if the people out looking were able to look behind those buildings and not just what could be seen from the streets. One area in particular is a large structure that is multiple buildings that were joined together (may be partially or totally abandoned), however there is a deep notch of open space that is not visible from the roads unless you actually go right to the notch area between two of the buildings and it is only accessible from the rear of the buildings via a narrow paved lane that runs behind.

Since the $16,000 reward isn't motivating anyone to come forward perhaps they could reduce that reward and use some of it for some helicopter time to look over certain areas.

One thing I wanted to add is that if her car was left someplace and it was towed/impounded the owner of the vehicle might not have been contacted, especially in Chicago, because it is assumed that the owner would be looking for their car and would contact the police and/or impound lot(s) looking for it. Only after some time has gone by will they try to contact the owner so they can get the money for impound fees or to file a civil action for collections. As it is approaching the 30 day mark there is the possibility of a letter arriving for Emily at her address related to that car. If the car had been impounded in a smaller town this could be a letter from a business that may just be a towing/auto repair and/or used car or scrap location. It may appear like junk mail. I hope that the family was/is looking at all mail addressed to her and not assuming anything as junk mail.

I believe GRAA - where most impounds go unless towed from a business (at owners expense) sends a letter after 10 days of the car being there. At that point, the fee would be outrageous and if the owner doesn't pay, they don't send you to collections, they just auction off your car if there is no lien holder.

The only thing I found interesting in it is:

25-year-old Emily Anderson was last seen at the Machesney Park Steak N' Shake, around 2:30 in the morning on June 19. Loves Park Police say they don't know where Anderson was leading up to Steak N' Shake and police say they are continuing to look into her disappearance from every angle.

I normally don't mention tips I make in a case but on the off chance that the police did not follow up on this anyone reading that has access to the family should have them check on this vehicle that was impounded in Chicago on July 7th. Chicago police may not have run the VIN (if it truly did not have plates) prior to towing it.

All these newer intersections and all the ones near Steak n Shake in Machesney Park have cameras on the top of the signals on the main roads. Just look up there and you will see them. Every intersection on 173 to and from Steak N shake and on the way to Walmart as well. A block away behind cvs and valli produce on the way to walmart on Alpine and Riverside.

Rock Cut park would be closed and blocked off from traffic via a locked gate at entrances and exit at that time of night so her car did not make it there that late at night.

ETA: the Rockford and Loves Park police are very inept. You wont find any police in Loves Park willing to do any work other than speed traps on North Second, go to a 24 hour Mcdonalds on Charles St and you will see a gathering of 10-15 paid police officers sitting for hours in the restaurant talking for hours and not doing their job.

Caitlin deleted her FB today. I haven't seen anyone connected to her say anything that might indicate a reason why.

Loves Park Police say they've consulted with the F-B-I and continue to follow new leads. The family meets with investigators tomorrow.

Thanks for your insight on the placement of cameras. It seems that it would not be possible to get to or from the Steak N Shake without seeing a camera. Are those red light cameras? If they are they may only operate for a few seconds at each change of the lights taking still images. Either way., hopefully the police have looked into those cameras.
