http://www.forestparkreview.com/News/Articles/6-30-2017/Human-remains-found-in-abandoned-car-/

Year 1996 is just starting point. Jane Doe could have been deceased anywhere between then until 2016 possibly even early 2017.

I have to somewhat disagree that this car is the same as abandoned building. Car was owned and parking plot has been paid for until owner's death. Car was locked and they had to break into it to retrieve trash can. Jane Doe is definitely in some way connected to the owner. What is interesting though that trash can was in the back seat and not in the trunk and also that owner did not get rid of it for very long time... it might point to some emotional attachment. Owner was probably on the older side (if he died of natural causes) and probably of lower socio-economic status due to very old black sedan, probably Oldsmobile which was described as in very poor condition. Owner very likely did not live too far from the car, at least in initial years when car was brought there and knew in some way this neighborhood. Residents knew about owner's death - if he was complete stranger just renting they would not know. Whoever owner was I am very sure that police going through this person's life with tooth brush comb as we speak.

Resemblance of some suggestions are uncanny, however tip of the nose on sketches of skeletal remains as far as I am aware, is always just an artist guess. (but Carl might clarify further)

I took a serious look at the insects on the clothing...it's hard to tell because I'm not a specialist...and she was in a container what would probably slow decomposition down....But there was still a lot of insects activity....makes me wonder if she wasn't there for a shorter period of time....

Stage 1: The living pig (used as an example, very close to humans)

State of decay
A live pig is notoutwardly decomposing, but its intestine contains a diversity of bacteria, protozoans and nematodes. Some of these micro-organisms are ready for a newlife, should the pig die and lose its ability to keep them under control.

Stage 2: Initial decay - 0 to 3 days afterdeath

State of decay

Although the bodyshortly after death appears fresh from the outside, the bacteria that beforedeath were feeding on the contents of the intestine begin to digest theintestine itself. They eventually break out of the intestine and startdigesting the surrounding internal organs. The body's own digestive enzymes(normally in the intestine) also spread through the body, contributing to itsdecomposition.

On an even smallerscale, enzymes inside individual cells are released when the cell dies. Theseenzymes break down the cell and its connections with other cells.

Insect activity
From the moment ofdeath flies are attracted to bodies. Without the normal defences of a livinganimal, blowflies and house flies are able to lay eggs around wounds andnatural body openings (mouth, nose, eyes, anus, genitalia). These eggs hatchand move into the body, often within 24 hours. The life cycle of a fly from eggto maggot to fly takes from two to three weeks. It can take considerably longerat low temperatures.

Stage 3: Putrefaction - 4 to 10 days afterdeath

State of decay
Bacteria break downtissues and cells, releasing fluids into body cavities. They often respire inthe absence of oxygen (anaerobically) and produce various gases includinghydrogen sulphide, methane, cadaverine and putrescine as by-products. Peoplemight find these gases foul smelling, but they are very attractive to a varietyof insects.

The build up of gasresulting from the intense activity of the multiplying bacteria, createspressure within the body. This pressure inflates the body and forces fluids outof cells and blood vessels and into the body cavity.

Insect activity
The young maggots movethroughout the body, spreading bacteria, secreting digestive enzymes andtearing tissues with their mouth hooks. They move as a maggot mass benefitingfrom communal heat and shared digestive secretions.

The rate of decayincreases, and the smells and body fluids that begin to eminate from the bodyattract more blowflies, flesh flies, beetles and mites. The later-arrivingflies and beetles are predators, feeding on maggots as well as the decayingflesh. They are joined by parasitoid wasps that lay their eggs inside maggotsand later, inside pupae

Stage 4: Black putrefaction - 10 to 20 daysafter death

State of decay
The bloated bodyeventually collapses, leaving a flattened body whose flesh has a creamyconsistency. The exposed parts of the body are black in colour and there is avery strong smell of decay.

A large volume of bodyfluids drain from the body at this stage and seep into the surrounding soil.Other insects and mites feed on this material.

The insects consumethe bulk of the flesh and the body temperature increases with their activity.Bacterial decay is still very important, and bacteria will eventually consumethe body if insects are excluded.

Insect activity
By this stage, severalgenerations of maggots are present on the body and some have become fullygrown. They migrate from the body and bury themselves in the soil where theybecome pupae. Predatory maggots are much more abundant at this stage, and thepioneer flies cease to be attracted to the corpse. Predatory beetles lay theireggs in the corpse and their larvae then hatch out and feed on the decayingflesh. Parasitoid wasps are much more common, laying their eggs inside maggotsand pupae.

Stage 5: Butyric fermentation - 20 to 50 daysafter death

State of decay
All the remainingflesh is removed over this period and the body dries out. It has a cheesysmell, caused by butyric acid, and this smell attracts a new suite of corpseorganisms.

The surface of thebody that is in contact with the ground becomes covered with mould as the bodyferments.

Insect activity
The reduction in softfood makes the body less palatable to the mouth-hooks of maggots, and moresuitable for the chewing mouthparts of beetles. Beetles feed on the skin andligaments. Many of these beetles are larvae. They hatch from eggs, laid byadults, which fed on the body in earlier stages of decay.

The cheese flyconsumes any remaining moist flesh at this stage, even though it is uncommonearlier in decay.

Predators andparasitoids are still present at this stage including numerous wasps and beetlelarvae.

Stage 6: Dry decay - 50-365 days after death

State of decay
The body is now dryand decays very slowly. Eventually all the hair disappears leaving the bonesonly.

Insect activity
Animals which can feedon hair include tineid moths, and micro-organisms like bacteria. Mites, inturn, feed on these micro-organisms.

They remain on thebody as long as traces of hair remain, which depends on the amount of hair thatcovers the particular species. Humans and pigs have relatively little hair andthis stage is short for these species.

I'm not sure what we can see on the clothing...think with me pleace if you can handle this.

Also this video is very good, considering the things you can see on the clothing. Don't be afraid...forget about the actual body..

Kimberly Michelle Belcher, missing since January 1, 2000 from Jackson, Jackson county, Michigan. 55 yrs. No story.

What about Benedetta Bentley missing since May 23 2010, from Centralia, Illinois. Weight 165 pounds. Nothing about a "flipper" http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/bentley_benedetta.html

There was a recent break in Benedetta's case-- remains that could possibly be her found in Jefferson County, near where she went missing: https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/police-suspected-human-remains-may-be-missing-woodstock-woman/

(Sounds like a different set of remains from the ones in this thread).

Thank you for this BOH, but I am too afraid to follow the links. I do not want to see what can not be forgotten. I have already seen too much and I need to sleep sometime again. I'm sure it is all very fascinating and important work for those who try to identify the unidentified deceased or catch murderers. Just not for the weak of stomach or faint of heart. :o

That's ok Gardener. I sleep well. The point that I wanted to make is that because of the insects activity I'm starting to have doubts about the time the body was put in the container. I have the feeling that is was more recent...but I'm not a specialist off course. Shouldn't LE be able to pinpoint the dates more, using the insects? Also wandering why couldn't they establish a estimated height. I think you lay out the bones of the skeleton and measure that..or is this to naïve?

Cuby posted this before: When Beth Bentley went missing there was a lot of activity on her thread here at WS, as well as other sites. Many of her friends were posting and no one mentioned a dental partial. She was married to an attorney and I don't think she would have settled on a flipper or partial dentures. I don't think these remains belong to Beth.

And my answer: Thank you for clearing up my question about her having a "flipper", that was the piece of information I couldn't find anything about. That would rule her out for this UID.

For the record: It's pretty sure this UID is not Beth Bentley.

That looks like a dental bridge/false teeth, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

ETA: Something like the two middle images here: https://www.dottox.com/dentures-cost-types-false-teeth/

Namus added another picture of the partial dentals (no X-ray) for this UID. I'm still not sure if it's an upper or lower.....I'm really not good in this. https://identifyus.org/en/cases/16830

According to Namus Anna Maciejewska had an implant bottom rear. So that's a rule out?

October 3rd, 2017

The Friday afternoon announcement said the method of death had yet to be determined, but asphyxia was considered a likely cause.
---
Forest Park Police Chief Tom Aftanas said his department is now awaiting DNA test results from the Illinois State Police Crime Lab. Much of the investigation, Aftanas said, will hinge on those results. But they may not be available for up to six months.
---
Aftanas said there were no clues as to the victim's identity in the car where the body was found, and police were unable to obtain fingerprints because of the almost entirely skeletal nature of remains
---
As for when the victim might have died, Aftanas said he hasn't been given any estimate by the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Canada - Debbie Hutchinson, 59, Cape Breton, NS, 14 April 2017

Debbie Ann Hutchinson. Some similarities but circumstances are quite a stretch. No clue how she would have arrived where she was found or with the items she was found with. No mention of a flipper but looks possible in some pics. Not very likely but sharing anyway.

They say she was found in a garage....I thought the car was parked in a parking lot, so in plain sight, I'm confused now...

Yeah. Not a parking lot, but a parking space on private property, and under a storage tarp. That's what all the other locations have said.

Yes....parking space is a better word..a parking lot is probably a public parking space...sorry for mixing up the words....Duchy trying to communicate in American.....

Yes, a parking lot in the US is usually public parking for at least three or four cars. And in ether case, it's not a garage, which is a closed space. Very strange they'd say that.

I think you do a wonderful job communicating, and you have many valuable insights. I really admire the effort it takes to do that in another culture and language. I know how bad I am in French!

Did somebody see anything about the cause of dead? I still find it a mystery, why there were all this clothes and especially two robes...somebody got rid of her and all (her scarse) belongings.....

Just another thought. Not very likely Wendy Bateman

Missing & Homeless

Couldn't go passed the blonder lock of hair........and the nose.
