I agree it doesn't add up. For her to be so happy to have caught a fish doesn't sound like they had been arguing before hand. Also, LE still doesn't know if Jacob is a victim or suspect. Upthread they interviewed his parents and brother J. First I heard mention of him. Maybe the LE were checking the possibility that he may have been involved. I don't know anything about him but maybe he was closer in age to Jessica.

I find nothing suspicious in taking a gun camping or fishing, I can't even think of the last time I did either without having a gun.

I do not have any plausible theory for why Jessica is dead and he is MIA. I am worried that he was involved, I just dont understand why he killed her or left her body in her truck.

I just don't understand, it doesn't make sense.

  • #303
It doesnt make sense. I will be so glad when they find him.

  • #304
I know this will probably land at an awkward spot...

But I am thinking a theory may be murder-suicide.

I'm still catching up, but I think you are spot on. :(

If he were mad enough to shoot her 3 times and try to push or drive the truck down an embankment , wandered off, how far away would he get before he killed himself? Seems like they would have found him. If they are searching the river they are possibly ruling out the possibility of a 2nd person involved? Which leaves the last possibiity. He did this and fled. Obviously not thinking very good because he could have left faster with his wheels.

  • #306
He couldnt have gotten away without hitch hiking or someone helping him. So if he did this and didnt kill himself he could be hiding out in someones barn or shed or something. If I lived around there Id be cautious and on the lookout.

"We at this point haven't ruled out anything because we don't know exactly what happened at that camp area or along the river on that area. We have some ideas of what might have happened, but we certainly aren't ruling out any possibility," Maier said. "Yeah, we are listing Jake as a person of interest, but we also have ruled out that he might be a victim in this situation. Bottom line we have to locate him no matter what the scenario is."

Is this quote a misprint? It says that they aren't ruling anything out but then goes on to say, "we also have ruled out that he might be a victim in this situation."

So have they or have they not ruled out anything?! Dang...so confusing to me!

Honestly, I think it was a misprint. MOO
The way it's worded... appears as a misprint to me.

I agree, Simp...because, obviously, if they don't think he's a victim that would mean they've ruled that out. And they clearly stated they haven't ruled anything out.

I'm just sick. I am sooo hoping this young man is not guilty of this.

You're right, when I clicked on that link from NOAA it says the water level is 2.9 feet. That seems more like a stream to me. Jkjkjkjkjk.

Right now it is! But last spring, we had massive flooding, and I think it got as high as 35 feet. And now we're in a drought. That's Southern Illinois weather for ya. :)

I find nothing suspicious in taking a gun camping or fishing, I can't even think of the last time I did either without having a gun.

I would never go camping out in the sticks like that without a gun.

Well, I would never go camping out in the sticks like that, period. But I would definitely take a gun if I were out there.

The only reason I can think that he might have killed her and left the truck behind is if he shot her in the truck, it would be covered in blood. Still, if he left on foot, how has he not been caught by now? I guess he could have made it to the highway and gotten a ride, but there is not very much traffic down that road after midnight.

And we haven't heard a word about his cell phone? Surely he had one. If he has a phone, LE would be all over it's whereabouts?????

  • #312
If he took his parents gun for protection while camping someone else would probably have the bullet holes in their head instead of Jessica tho.At least they should find another dead body if he were trying to protect them. He is military trained too and if someone gunned down his gf like that surely they would have shot him too..And if he were injured and trying to drive away there should be blood in the drivers seat.
Just thinking out loud here.

Everytime I think I can justify my thoughts in this, somebody makes a valid post that makes me think... "Well dang, that's a good point"
:(

If he brought a gun that is one thing, but if he took a gun without telling anyone (if it was not his) that is something else.

I fear the simplest answer will be the true one; one victim, one shooter.

Simp I know. Dont want to think he did it. Everyone thats posted said he is a nice guy. (Everyone said that about Scott Peterson too.) The only thing I can think of without more info is he had a bad flashback or something.(Unless this dude does bathsalts too.)It doesnt make sense at all.

Lots of chatter on Disclosure's FB site, including a self described close friend of Jessica's that specifically said Jessica was thinking about breaking it off with Jacob. There are many rumors and pointed fingers on there but some stuff is noteworthy. Somebody posted about an hour ago that they heard he was on top of a water tower in Grayville. I have no idea the validity of these comments but they are posted on the Disclosure News FB site...

The simplest answer usually is the correct one. I don't know...I hope he didn't do it but it's still a real possibility. I have a feeling there is a lot LE isn't telling us.

He looks older than Jacob.

All the comments on the Disclosure page are just rumors and innuendo. There has been no more official word from LE.

And they were joking about the water tower.

I can't help but wonder something...

This guy I do think saw a lot in Iraq. Then he comes home & his very short lived marriage breaks up. He has another relationship that could have been about to break up. Well what about if he was already distraught over letting his wife go, then maybe a new relationship split arose? Could he have just thought it was the end of the world?

When exactly did he start seeing Jessica?
