Anyone with any information about her whereabout is asked to contact the Clinton Police Department at 217-935-9441.

CLINTON, Ill. (WCIA) — A family is desperate for answers after their loved one left home and never returned Sunday night.

Clinton Police said they are looking for 32-year-old Juana Arellano, and on Monday, dozens gathered to help look for her.

Her last confirmed sighting was at her home in Clinton around 9 p.m. on Sunday. Arellano’s family said she planned to get a drink at Snappers Bar and Grill less than a mile from her home. She made contact with her husband Leo Naxi around 10:40 and told him she was on her way home to put their kids to sleep.

The video of her looking as if she were trying to get away from someone sound's frightening. If she wasn't at the bar as she told her family, where was she between 9 and 10:40 when her husband stated she called to tell him she was on her way home? Was she meeting a friend? So many unanswered questions.

I'm fairly local to this. We need more details, because something really sounds off.

Gray Hughes discusses. About 8:05 on his clock, upper right. He recently interviewed a family member.

Thanks for posting this. Lots of new (or rather updated) and interesting info from her sister-in-law shared in the interview.
Really sounds like (from the FB group and this interview) that the family and lots of friends have been searching high and low, quite extensively, for the last two days. Clinton, IL is a small town (population ~7,000 from 2010 census). Seems like someone would know something more.
Looking at a map, the elementary schools where she was seen are in opposite direction of the bar she said she was at that evening. Although- it really doesn't sound like she was at the bar. I wonder if it is normal for her to leave and go to the bar in the evening? It initially struck me as a bit odd, BUT then I thought about some long days I've had home with my kids, and I have often gone out in the evening to go for a walk to clear my head or, sometimes even a drive, a run to the store, etc. so it isn't all that strange in my opinion.
Would like to know if phone calls with her husband are confirmed. Wondering if she was meeting up with someone?
Again, though, small town... kind of seems like something like that would leak.
Really really hope she is safe. This situation does not sound good. The reports of surveillance showing her running in fear are quite concerning.

A lot of interesting information came out in the GH interview with the sister-in-law Amanda. Juana's husband and daughter were in the background and filled in some of the answers. I'll try to summarize:

Juana's husband works at a restaurant called Cinco de Mayo which is about a block from their home. The restaurant closes at 9:00 pm.

At around 9:00 pm, Juana told her daughter that she was going to take a walk to Cinco.

Sometime after 9:00 the husband phoned home from Cinco and said that he had tried to call Juana, but she hadn't answered. The daughter told him that her mother had left to walk to Cinco, and he said she wasn't there.

At 9:26 the daughter phoned her mother and asked her where she was. Juana said that she didn't go to Cinco, that she was enjoying the night and decided to walk for awhile. Amanda said that it is not unusual for her to go for long walks.

The husband phoned Juana at 10:28 and she told him that she was just leaving Snappers to head for home. She told him he should get the kids ready for bed. The husband said that she sounded normal, that her voice didn't sound like she had been drinking. That was the last time she answered the phone. The bartender at Snappers said she wasn't there. Her husband viewed Snappers camera footage with the police and she was not seen. Snappers is not a place she would normally go.

Amada sent GH copies of the phone records for Juana, her husband and her daughter. The logs showed that the husband tried phoning her repeatedly starting at 11:05 pm.

Amanda contacted local businesses asking for them to check their cameras and they have all been cooperative. The Elementary School camera shows a woman walking west on Park Lane at around 11:15. She looks back and breaks into a run. She is next picked up by the Jr. High School camera, walking west on Illini. She cut through a parking lot from Park Lane and came out on Illini. Amanda quoted the policeman as saying "that was not an exercise run, that was a frightened run." The quality of the pictures is poor and they can't make a positive ID, but the woman seen on camera matches the general description of Juana and the clothes she is wearing match what Juana was wearing. The only thing that is different is that the police say that it looks like the woman on camera is carrying a large bag. Juana's daughter says that when her mother left the house she was carrying her purse, but it is not large.

Juana's family and the police watched all of the camera footage from the schools until dawn. About 2 or 3 minutes after the woman started running, a car sped down Park Lane traveling west, but it turned right (north) on Illini. The only person they saw was a man wearing shorts and a hoodie, who appeared around 1:20 am, and they doubt if he is connected.

It was helpful to see all of the locations on the map..... Juana's home, Cinco, Snappers, the two schools.

GH said that about 15 minutes were edited out of the interview. He said that Amanda had told him that several people have told her about a man who lives in the area who has been acting strange, and she talked about him by name. GH indicated on the map the general area where the man lives, but he cut out specific references for obvious reasons.

It wasn't always easy to follow the interview because people kept commenting in the live chat and GH was responding to them, talking over the interview. He says that he will replay the interview tomorrow (Wednesday) without interruption.

Thanks for summarizing. Just tried watching it but was too frustrating. Will watch the replay today.

Correction: I made an error I didn't catch in the summary. I typed that the Jr. High School camera showed her walking west on Illini -- that is wrong -- I should have said she was walking south on Illini.

I'm currently watching GHI's video and the story is getting fishier and fishier. She tells the daughter at 9 that she's going to Cinco's (husband's workplace) but 20 or so minutes later, she doesn't take her husband's phone call so he calls home and then the daughter makes a call which does get answered. She tells her daughter she's taking a walk. An hour later the husband reaches her and she says she's at Snappers and will be on her way home. But someone dressed similarly to her was seen on camera next to the elementary school which is actually near Cinco afraid and holding a large bag. Nothing of this makes any sense.

So, the video showed someone who matched her description looking behind her and taking off in a run. I'm assuming they kept watching to see if she was being chased by a car or another individual on foot? Why the sudden change in venue? Instead of going to the place her husband worked, she decided to go to a different location? Have they checked a phone records to see if she had been communicating with someone before she left the house?

Yeah, it all sounds very sketchy. Where did the big bag come from, was she meeting up with someone, who was she running from?.
Something is missing from this story imo.

Yes, they watched the entire video from the time a woman was seen running (11:15pm) until daylight, according to her sister-in-law.
Apparently the second time they saw a female (on the surveillance cam from the junior high school, so she was headed SOUTH on Illini Rd), shortly after that a car came speeding down Park Lane and stopped at the Stop sign where it intersected with Illini. The SIL said it stopped at the stop sign, like a pause almost, and then took off again speeding NORTH on Illini. The way she perceived it was that it stopped like it was looking for which direction to turn (south or north) on Illini, but ended up going north instead of south. All of that was the SIL's perception of the event, of course impossible to know if the car did actually pause with the intent of trying to figure out which way to go.

Per the SIL, the only other thing seen on the cameras between that time and daylight was a man in shorts and a hoodie walking down Park Lane. (SIL didn't remember what time it was, GH recommended someone go through the video and write down times of things seen.) The SIL noted it was kind of strange the person was wearing a hoodie but other than that, no real info on that person. I believe those were the only other things seen on camera (both elementary and middle school) from the time AU was seen running until daylight Monday.

From the FB page- I am really impressed by the number of people saying they've gone out looking. It doesn't appear to be all family, but so many local people and comments regarding sanitation workers and other public works employees who are out and about being aware to keep an eye out for anything abnormal on their routes.

Was she running towards her home or away from her home?

If you watch Gray's video he has a map up showing the direction of travel, based on her SIL's interview.

ETA- here is a google map I re-created using the info from GH’s video- is this allowed ?

Red route is where a female was seen on surveillance cams. Green route is where the car went. JA's home and husband's workplace (Cinco) noted on map as well.

I’m assuming that’s a huge corn field in the center?
