Found Safe IL - Juana Arellano, 32, left home to walk to bar but didn't arr, later seen on camera walking So on Illini Dr, Clinton, 21 August 2022

Oh my gosh. Chills.

Editing to add rough translation for those who need it. Correct me if I’m wrong! My Spanish is spotty.
Heart: you did it?
Brain: yes
Heart (sad): at what cost?
Brain (sad): I lost everything

That was my translation too, also with spotty Spanish. Very eerie.

Does anyone understand the time stamping on TikTok? As in will it change to 5 days as soon as it hits 96 hours post-upload?

I’m also not certain the video will have been taken at her location 4 days ago because it has many similarities with the pinned video shared on 5th August. Beach and torches mostly but the lights in the distance seem vaguely similar too.

Good thoughts….I’ll investigate the date/time thing on TikTok

So, if you watch GHI's map of it, the car keeps making a right turn and driving in a loop. It keeps driving past her house. I'm not sure that's a safe place for her to go. I just don't understand why she didn't call the police if she had her phone and she was in trouble.
I would have hid somewhere, a backyard, behind something, a building, until the car was out of sight, even in a neighbors yard. Seems to me she was running from her home. She picked up her phone right away for her daughter but only after repeated times for her husband, at first. Then she ignored him.

Maybe she lost her phone, always possible. It would be interesting to know what the people at that bar saw and how she interacted with them in general.

This is all really unsettling. My #1 question is where did she really go and who did she see on Sunday night? She told her daughter she was going to the husband's restaurant, she told the husband she went to a bar. And in actuality, went to neither, so she obviously didn't want to disclose her location to her family. It appears she also potentially ignored her husband's call since he called after 9 and she didn't pick up but DID pick up when her daughter called at 9:26. (I guess she could have missed the call too).

I agree with others who say she may have been communicating with someone via WhatsApp, Snapchat, or some other app that wouldn't show on their phone bill. Hopefully other business/residences will scour their CCTV footage/provide to LE because perhaps a camera somewhere caught her on it wherever she initially went that night.

I can never see things as well as others seem to on CCTV footage. To me, it looks like this "bag" she has, she is carrying it in front of her as she walks/runs. Is that correct? Is it possible it IS her purse and she just carried it that way because she was running and it would otherwise fall off her shoulder?

From what was said the car turned in opposite direction, so it is not 100% certain the car was after her IMO

I watched, they only said the car was seen once and it was never mentioned it was driving in loops or past her house. you have a source for this....

I saw a news report that stated that footage showed she was never at that bar. I'll see if I can find it again.

Edit to add:

Found it:

Her last confirmed sighting was at her home in Clinton around 9 p.m. on Sunday. Arellano’s family said she planned to get a drink at Snappers Bar and Grill less than a mile from her home. She made contact with her husband Leo Naxi around 10:40 and told him she was on her way home to out their kids to sleep.

But she never made it home. She didn’t even make it to the bar.

Snappers’ owner said the bartender on duty at the time never saw her and that if she was there, the cameras would have caught it. Naxi and Clinton Police looked through the footage and did not see her.

GH talks about it at the beggining of this vid.

So then according to her daughter, she said she was going to her husband's restaurant. Then the Dad calls daughter and asks her to call her Mom's phone because she's not picking up for him, she does and Mom picks up and tells her she's taking a walk. Has anyone from her husband's restaurant said she made it there?

All I just said was laid out in GH video, at the beggining

I think a plausible scenario is emerging. She goes for a walk around 9 to meet up with someone who she had been talking to on social media. She probably knew about how much time she had until husband got home from closing the restaurant.

Here’s what we know. Tells kids she’s going to the family restaurant down the block around 9pm which I’m guessing doesn’t raise suspicion. Things start falling apart when husband calls her shortly after and she doesn’t respond. Husband calls daughter asking where she is. Daughter tells him she came to the restaurant. This obviously raised red flags for both of them. Daughter calls her and she answers her call, shortly after ignoring husband. This call she tells daughter she goes a for a walk instead. This is important because she’s still alive at this time, and she also never mentions snappers. It’s also the last time any non husband person talks to her.

This was around 930, not too much after she originally left. We don’t know for sure what husband does between 930-1030 but my guess is he was closing the restaurant. If they own the place he probably has a lot to do before shutting down so being there an hour or so later isn’t surprising. I don’t think he would’ve had had enough time do anything between 930-1030. Husband then calls her at 10:28 and this is when he says she told him she was on her way home from Snappers. We don’t really know how this phone call went though. We know either her or him made the Snapper’s part up.

I think it’s possible she came home from wherever she had been shortly after the 10:28 phone call, and they got into a fight over her whereabouts that evening. She maybe then fled, even taking a bag with her. She seemed to be walking in the direction of the hotel so she could have planned on staying there for the night, or maybe someone was picking her up off the highway nearby. I still can’t get past the fact of her running in the exact opposite direction of her house when it was so close by. She even had opportunities to loop around and go back that way after running through the lot.

What I am not sure is what happened next because theres really only 3 scenarios on what happens after she runs through the parking lot.
1) whoever was hunting her found her
2)she eventually made it to someone who picked her up and got her out of town
3)she did something to herself

Another question I wonder about: did she routinely go out late in the evening like this? Either to truly go to Cinco as her husband closed up or to go for a walk by herself? Or would this be unusual and out of character for her?

In the interview I think one of the family members mentioned she did like to go on long walks.

They also mentioned that it wouldn’t be like her to go to the bar alone without her husband. Someone on a Facebook page commented that they had never seen her in the bar without him.

The restaurant is so close by that you would think it’d be pretty common for her to walk down around closing time to help out or maybe even just hang out with her husband. Based on the maps it looks like it’s just right down the block. It also didn’t appear to raise any concerns from the daughter originally when she told her this is where she was going.

Something strikes me as a little odd about the 9.14 phone call.

I’m thinking husband must have called JA’s cell phone, as opposed to a landline in the home - otherwise the daughter would have picked it up.

He then almost straight away phones the daughter. Was something so urgent? Or is it a persistence type of thing on his part? Or was he worried about her due to an existing situation?

In my house, if my husband didn’t reach me he wouldn’t start calling other people to see where I am. He’d probably assume I was away from my phone and follow up with a text, unless he really needed to reach me in which case he would phone me again a few mins later.
