Yeah I was the "wayward" kid. I remember at a parent teacher conference I missed something like 90/120 days, but like tru2it4u said we weren't as much into social media at that time. The highlights of my dirt were done around that same time period 06-08. I got it together, mostly. My friends who are still in that scene are in their 20's and post / live stream every little thing too so I would say I know a lot about those kinds of nights.

Anywho a little off subject but I guess still semi-relevant as it ties back in. My mother filed plenty of missing persons reports on me when I was under age (13/14) and stayed out for the night and honestly even after 3 days it never really went anywhere and I was wayyyyy younger than her. I remember specifically once my close friends also had no idea where I was as I liked to move in silence and they obviously thought they were lying as well but they honestly just didn't know. I think in some cases they figure you'll show up one way or another.... if you catch my drift. It's usually the alive way though.

I do think it was more than teenagers at that party, based off experience and the fact she was so close to 20.

And yeah I can confirm for inmate lookup you can do last name first initial and just ask the name so you'd know it when you'd see it.

if it is any consolation my mother is bi-polar and she still files missing persons reports on me. Thankfully the local PD has stopped banging on my door each time. We don't even live in the same state. (Bet you can't guess why). LOL

I'm really curious why kennekas mom or the attorney are not responding to any of the hotels offers, especially the offer to review the footage. Weird that her mom and sister were protesting for all 36 hours of footage to be released when the hotel has offered that to them already. Anyone have any ideas of why they haven't viewed the footage?

Also, in reference to her mother coming there. She was 19. She had the right to be out if she wanted to be. Was her mother distraught, sure absolutely, but policy is policy. Some people don't want to be found. They don't know her relationship with her mother. Some people don't even associate with their parents. Now what if her mother was crazy and she was hiding from her, or what if that wasn't even her mother and they gave her information regarding her and she was harmed that way?

Very good point, Verbiage. As far as the hotel knew, this was an adult asking them to look for another adult on their security footage. I understand why they would refuse to do so without police involvement.

I've been wondering this and I can't find any MSM articles that answers my wondering mind

1. What did the text message say from KJ to her sister at 1:30am Saturday? It was only 6mins before the live FB video.

2. Who CURRENTLY has KJ phone?

In the news video her sis says she never received a message from her at 1:30 a.m.

I had heard a sister, not sure if it was Harris, say she'd not received a text message at 1:30 a.m., only that she last saw her at 11:30 p.m., but this article, states that a sister, Harris, told LE that she did receive a text message at 1:30 a.m. which would have Saturday morning. I'd like to know what that text said too.

I didn't realize that it was not her Mom who filed the missing person's report. Her mom had stated in the 911 call that she was going to wait 24 hours to file the report. Her sister, LH filed it Saturday afternoon.

She was headed to the hotel for a party, Jenkins’ sister Leonore Harris told authorities while filing a missing person complaint Saturday afternoon.

Harris said the two last spoke via text message around 1:30 a.m. early Saturday, according to police, who said she filed the official report about 12 hours later.

After she was reported missing, Crowne Plaza Hotel staff and management canvassed and searched the area, authorities said. Harris said investigators allowed her to watch surveillance video, which showed the teen entering, but never leaving, the hotel.

Meanwhile, Jenkins' family and Holmes pleaded with anyone who was in the hotel room that night to come forward with information.

“Best friend, no friend, you’re a suspect, you was in there, just come forward,” Holmes said. “You was happy enough to put yourself on Facebook, now be happy enough to come over here and tell these detectives what happened.”

Right, and people go to hotels to do things they want to keep secret, like have affairs. The hotel has no way of knowing if this is truly a concerned mother, or someone posing as a concerned mother who is trying to catch her daughter having a tryst with someone she has been banned from seeing. Adults have a right to privacy. I completely understand the hotel requesting police be involved before they release information or video.

The allegations, the conspiracy theories, the protests - all this can't be good for business. If I'd be a manager of a company/large corporation looking to rent conference rooms right now, I'd probably decide to book them elsewhere until it's all sorted out. jmo

Mine were well deserved. I was a real piece of work. :blushing:

Weird. I think that it may have something to do with the lawyers she has consulting her in regards to a lawsuit. I heard they were lawyers that work with celebrities or something so I'm sure that action is well calculated.

On the other hand, us true crime junkies will be purposely booking our conferences there from now on so we can check it out! [emoji23][emoji23]

It's really bothering me (amongst other things now) why they won't share what the text message said. Even if it was just a simple "Hi"

Frustrating.

I can't imagine why the mother hasn't viewed it, but I bet her lawyer has something to do with that decision. It's crazy of them to expect the hotel and police to publicly release all 36 hours. Huge violation of the other guests privacy! After all this negative publicity and drama, I'll bet it will be a lot harder for teens to party at this hotel! Whichever employee knocked on the door and told them to keep it down is probably in big trouble for not kicking them out and/or calling the cops.

I saw an interview where the sister denied receiving a text, so I'm not sure what the truth is.

That's certainly a valid point. But they could have looked at footage anyway. No need to release anything, just look if they can spot where she went. It could have made all the difference. There was a known time period, not too time consuming to check.

Unless of course, nobody of the staff had either the know how or authority to look at footage.

What if the mom had actually been a wife trying to catch her husband cheating with a younger girl, by pretending to be that girls mother? If the hotel found the girl on the footage and that told the "mom" where she was and the girl ended up getting beat up or shot, we would all be talking about how wrong the hotel was for doing that. They have no way of knowing what is really going on with people, that's why they HAVE to involve the police before reviewing the security footage.
