Yeah I don't put a lot of credence into what the mother says regarding the drinking "knowledge" of her 19 year old daughter. She is an underage drinker, she is leaving the house at 11;30 pm to go to a birthday party for her friend at a hotel 45 minutes away (reportedly that far). A hotel room paid for with identify theft. (whether she knows that or not is irrelvevant). With drug being smoked and taken and drinking. Hard to assess based on the circumstances she found her self in. Did she go in a report to her mother oh I was out drinking or I was out with friends who were drinking but I don't to any of that because I can't handle it. Really, that statement is not worth a sheet of paper it could be written on.What does "hardly ever" means, exactly? She either has a drink or she doesn't. Not a big drinker not used to alcohol could mean even relatively small amount of alcohol would mess her up.
When the media interviewed KJ's sister, she told them she was taken to see her sister's body and she went through 2 white doors on the lobby level into a kitchen area under construction. She said that's where the freezer and body was at. I thought we ALL agreed on that.
KJ's mother said she wasn't a big drinker. She apparently couldn't handle alcohol very well. If you watch those videos, you hardly ever see a drink in her hand except the one that the girl gave her. She was drugged and whatever it was, messed her up. I'm surprised she never fell down while wandering the halls in the basement.
You may be right. I am just so bad at interpreting 'hip' young people's party talk. It is hard for me to understand what they are really saying.
I will have to have my 25 yr old daughter come watch the video, and see how she deciphers it. She is fluent in the language.
The msm articles say freezer was in the basement, not in the lobby.
KJ was found in the freezer, in the vicinity of the construction area, where the new restaurant (CaddyShack) was being built. That restaurant is on the same level as the lobby. It's not located in the basement.
"It was not clear who located Jenkins' body, but Mack said the hotel was doing some construction in the area where she was found. Martin said she was told the freezer Jenkins was in was turned on and cold but was not being used to store food.
"I just happen to know there's work being done on some new facilities over there, so there is some construction activity where a new restaurant is being built, and (she was found) in that vicinity," Mack said. "This is not an area where anyone would typically be who was a guest in the hotel."

are you sure? I think (but cant recall without double-checking) they have said the last time she was seen on surveillance was in the basement, and she was found in the freezer (but does not say if the freezer was actually there in the same area). I could be mistaken, but I think it comes down to how each of us interprets what has been said (and info accumulated) from that date to now.
Manterro, do you happen to have a link to this? I would like to be able to save it. Thanks.
ETA: never mind, Manterro. I found it here: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/...found-dead-rosemont-hotel-20170910-story.html
I've seen a bunch of articles claiming freezer was in the basement.
"...body was discovered in an industrial size walk-in freezer in the basement of the hotel..."

Check that 911 tape. Didn't the police officer who found JK's frozen body tell the dispatcher he was in the area by the docks and the garbage. Loading docks, as far as I know, are always on the 1st level or floor and not in the basement. Garbage trucks would use the loading dock too. JMO

I've never been in this Crowne Plaza, but I have been a guest in another Crowne Plaza Conference center hotel during a tornado warning in which we had to shelter in the basement. We stayed in a hallway where usually only staff are allowed and periodically checked an emergency exit to see if the tornado sirens had stopped. There were most definitely loading docks off the basement exit of that hotel. The driveway upto the loading docks went down into the ground to access the basement level. I'm not saying it's like that in Rosemont, but someone needs to actually go to the Crown Plaza in Rosemont to settle this, IMO.
There's pictures posted earlier in this thread that shows the loading docks. They're great pictures but not super clear so I couldn't tell if some of the trucks could go down or all the docks were on the 1st level or floor. Thanks for the info. I could very well be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time.
The area circled in RED is the EXISTING SPACE that the Caddyshack will eventually be in but is not currently being used.

I don't know that I would consider it a total accident if she was drugged though.
A total accident to me is that she drank or took drugs on her own and wandered into the freezer.
If she was drugged first (especially for nefarious purposes) that sounds more like a crime.
I definitely don't think it's a big cover up of a murder either though.
It certainly doesn't imply two separate kitchens. Body was discovered in a freezer, which was in the kitchen.. She is observed entering the kitchen, but there is no video of her entering the actual freezer.
If the above circled in red is the loading docks, where are the dumpsters? I can only see cars there and, normally, cars are not allowed to block a loading dock.

Yes, agreed. many say the basement, several say the ground floor/lobby. So, who do we believe is accurate?

In the videos of the party, a girl friend of hers hands her a small plastic cup, you see her take a drink, and then say UGHHH, what was that, and she drops the cup on the floor, but she laughs while she does it. Her friend picks the cup up.
Some are saying that is proof it was a drugged drink.
But if it was just a really strong shot of hard liquor, she might have had the same reaction. She was young and probably didn't have that much of a taste for strong alcohol.
If someone had drugged her,for nefarious purposes, I would think they would have been keeping her close, so they could take advantage of her. But it doesn't seem like that was what happened. She and her friends just left the party, and she wandered around by herself.
But it is possible someone went looking for her and found her and put her in a freezer. But I don't see how it could have happened with them being seen on video looking for her.
That's why I keep coming to her walking into the freezer by herself.
Also, if she did drink something in that cup, like a drug cocktail, it will show up in the to screen. I wonder if it is back yet?
The thing is, even if she did say UGGHH and throw the cup down, it doesn't mean she didn't agree voluntarily to take a dose of whatever it was.
There were older partiers all around her and I think she wanted to fit in and be cool. :rose:
