In a hearing before Judge Dan Rozak that lasted two minutes, Christopher Vaughn, 32, appeared via a video connection. Vaughn wore a red jail uniform and twice brushed his hair in the five minutes that he sat in front of a camera before the hearing.
Will County States Attorney James Glasgow dropped the four charges and said he would pursue four charges that say Vaughn knowingly shot his wife and children with the intent to kill them.
Joliet defense attorney Gerald Kielian told Rozak that he would enter a not-guilty plea. Rozak set a preliminary hearing for July 27.
