This is simply too ridiculous for me. I mean, come ON! The man that was babysitting and maybe his GF are the last ones to see the baby. The man obviously said that a couple came and took the baby, yet we have no sketches of what these people look like? I am not buying his story although in most circumstances his story would not surprise me as being true. The only reason I do not believe him is because mom said she tried to go to see her baby and kept getting excuses.

I understand the man is in jail for an outstanding warrant but is he just not talking about the missing baby? HE KNOWS! Has his home been searched? His car? His cell phone records?

Now, why would any mother leave her baby with someone for a month just to move to a new spot? Who the heck knows what goes on in people's minds. Mom has no car, was starting a new job, moving far away on her own and I guess packing and looking for a place to live were too much for her to also be carting around a baby while doing all of this. I could do it, you could do it but some people can't.

She intended it to be for 2 weeks and said that she was put off when she tried to go get him after that. But who knows if she is being 100% honest as she may fear the bad things people will say.

Why is the babysitter and his GF not being interrogated day and night? I don't get it. They have the answer to where this baby is!

I'm with you, tea time. My mind is blown! If someone "put me off" when trying to get my baby back, I would beat down doors, call the police etc. I mean PUH - Leeze!

I wasn't making excuses for her dropping him off that long. I was throwing out ideas as to how or why it happened.

I thought it was odd to take a child that far away to move apartments. I could understand a weekend but weeks or a month doesn't make sense.

Yeh. I understood your intentions. My anger is just showing through too much. I'm just baffled!

Regarding the length of time she left Kyrian, I understood it has to do with not only the move, but a training program for the new job.
But truly, the first thing she should have done was inquired as to the day care in that area, government subsidized if need be. Then she could have brought him. I can tell by her history of posts that Kyrian was no stranger to daycare. He had been going regularly, even when she was out of work.

Ohhhhhhh. Ok. Her taking a course makes a little more sense.

I don't think I've ever followed a missing child case like this one. It's like LE and the family just expect Kyrian to come home on his own :dunno:

That's how I feel too and am really puzzled by the lack of urgency. Has a father ever been mentioned? Is it possible his father took him? Poor liitle guy...

Maybe she doesn't know who the father is. It happens you know.

The find kyrian facebook page now requires you to "join". Lanisha's facebook page has zero updates. <modsnip> Media and LE are giving no updates. I guess we are just left to wait.
As a card carrying member of that page I can assure you there's nothing happening there.

I had a feeling that would be the case.

With the statement made that (I'm paraphrasing) there was never a good time for the child to be looked in on or picked up, I kind of assume the caregiver gave good enough excuses. Like "we're that the park and then we've committed to go to a BBQ later that he's really excited to go to". I feel like Lanisha wouldn't have just stayed away if she felt there were reason to question the caregiver. I don't know how many times she felt she was thrown off, though. You'd think you would say 'ok, then keep him for the BBQ and overnight and I will head out that way tomorrow". We just don't know enough dialogue.

I'm so worried that the silence on all ends means all ends know the real truth and we're just waiting on science.

I do wonder if LE thinks Kyrian can just come home, I don't mean just come walking through the door like 'hey don't fuss I'm back' but do they think it's highly likely that he'll be dropped of at a safe place by some unidentified person with an unidentifiable tattoo.

I feel LE thinks they know one of two things:

1. where he is living but not exactly
2. where he is exactly :(

Don't you all just hate it when children under age 5 take off without any disregard for their parents😒
I don't think the police know where he is. He's still apparently missing. It's just that no one is looking for the child😟

Oh my gosh! You summed it up perfectly. It feels as if no one is actively looking...........

MOO, I believe the lack of urgency in searching for precious Kyrian, comes from them ALL
waiting for the hammer to drop, with the results of the DNA test.

Chicago PD stated that the lagoon baby could be 1 of 9 missing children from the area. It is staggering that there are nine missing children who fit the description of the located body parts. I am sick.

I know a lot of people want to be really mad at the mom for leaving her child in the care of her BFF's dad for a host of reasons. I got an opinion after reading mom's FB page that she seemed to be really trying to pull it all together for herself and her son with all intentions of making a nice life for him.

Seems she had left a not so nice relationship and was excited about her new job, her move and her new life, even a new nutritional lifestyle. I am going to guess that she gave the name of the baby's father to LE. She is trying to better herself and is young and a single parent. She has dreams and ambitions but perhaps no back up from family. Her resources are limited.

I think she is swimming as fast as she can and we need to pray for her.

TeaTime you are very compassionate.

It's possible LE has shared information with his mom and asked her not to say anything. Yet if it were bad news, the family didn't seem to be aware of it during their search.

Chicago Police said they are still waiting on the FBI to finish DNA testing.

Also, the grandmother was quoted in a news article published today:

“I don’t want people to forget about my grandbaby,” Cameshia Harris said. Harris, who lives in Atlanta, flew to Chicago earlier this month to help her daughter, Lanisha Knox, who has submitted a DNA sample to police to check against the remains found in the Garfield Park lagoon.

“I left Georgia, and I came here, and I’m officially off work, and I’m in Chicago until we find my grandson. I’m not returning home until we know something about what’s going on with my grandbaby; until we find him, and he’s in our hands,” Harris said.

[modsnip]

Harris said there is a $10,000 reward for information reuniting her family with Kyrian.

Again, why is the family in Chicago when Kyrian went missing in Rockford??

Just trying to speculate on all the different scenarios I can think of.

Although highly unlikely what would be the possibility of something happening to Kyrian while in the care of his mother or her best friend and the whole story of dropping Kyrian off with the caregiver and someone coming to pick him up is just a cover up of what really happened. Could mom and/or her bff put Kyrian in the lagoon at Garfield Park when they supposedly went to Chicago? Would the caregiver and his gf go along with the story to cover for his daughter?

At some point in time you have to report K missing. Eventually family members are going to start asking questions as to where he is. Do you just make up a story saying you dropped him off while you were moving and then he disappeared?

Could be they're staying with someone in Chicago and they have nowhere to stay in Rockford. With no current income, they probably can't afford a motel for an extended period of time.

If that happened, why would the caregiver make up the story about sending her off with the tats couple?
