An alert was issued for Sherman Henderson, 31, who had a past relationship with Bowman. Henderson, who is considered armed and dangerous, has a history of domestic violence, police said.

UPDATE: Family members of Lindsay Bowman, who police say was kidnapped by an ex, tell @nbcchicago the 2 recently broke up. They're in shock.

She has been found in a local hospital. Ex is still being sought. No details.

Bowman was located at a suburban hospital, safe and receiving medical care, Oak Park officials said in an update Monday afternoon.

Police are still asking the public for help finding Henderson. An emergency warrant has been issued for Henderson's arrest, a village official said.

"Mr. Henderson has ties to Chicago, but also the western suburb of Lyons," Oak Park police Cmdr. LaDon Reynolds said at a news conference Monday morning.

Henderson is described as 6 foot 4 and 201 pounds. Officials said he is considered armed and dangerous.

Henderson also owns a white 2011 Chevrolet Camaro with license plate number R99 5300, according to the release.

Suspect In Oak Park Kidnapping Turns Himself In. Sherman Henderson, 31, was taken into custody at the Oak Park police station Monday night, after showing up with his attorney, according to a statement from Oak Park police.
