Not jumping all over posts, I respect your opinion 100%, it's not about me disliking your post or being in disagreement with you. I am just clarifying what actually took place in a case you brought up that was solved differently than your post suggested. You implied things that were not accurate in how that case was solved thus creatively offering you the opportunity to get your agenda heard about mass DNA collection.

I do not mean to offend, I have a nasty habit of being very logical and I do not see how hysterics over mass DNA collection helps resolve this case or any other for that matter.

BBM ~ Really?

Gee, glad I took a breather last night. :truce:

Posts build upon one another.
If a post is read independent of previous posts, keeping in mind subjects are interspersed throughout a thread, the true intention of a post may be misunderstood.

Has anyone put together a timeline of known events? Don't think I've seen it posted, but haven't been able to keep up on every post. Something about the black male picture quietly(?) being circulated by LE and the timing of things that is nagging at me.

It is nagging at me also. I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for this, just haven't thought of one. Maybe the authorities have shown this picture to others as well, and we haven't heard about it?

They have probably shown the pic to a lot of people. Most people probably wouldn't tell a news reporter something about an ongoing investigation if they thought it was being held close to the vest by LE. JMO

I know that I wouldn't be telling people, and especially saying it on TV.

Wow! Sounds like their might have been some "hinkiness" within the police department. I wonder if that relates to why DHS was brought in to examine the videos?

The FBI is looking at new surveillance video Saturday that could help catch those responsible for killing Fox Lake police officer Joe Gliniewicz last week.

The video came from a nearby gas station and the owner tells ABC7 Eyewitness News that you can clearly see the three suspects.

Meanwhile, the FBI tweeted out Saturday afternoon an appeal to the public asking for help and tips related to the slaying of the officer.

http://abc7chicago.com/news/fbi-seeking-publics-help-in-fox-lake-murder-investigation/971484/

What the hell is going on here ? Have they cleared these three guys ?

5 days into this and no still shots, videos, or composite sketches being made public ?

All we've gotten is some lame excuse about a video being so unretrievable they have to employ a government agency to get it off a hard drive. I say the owner of that surveillance system needs to throw the whole system into the garbage can and get himself one that can store videos on a laptop or a DVR.

Is this a case where you have so many different agencies walking into each others turf that they are unable to get anything done ? That's what it's starting to sound like, too many chiefs and not enough indians.

Maybe this is why at the beginning of almost all press conferences they begin by thanking all the different agencies involved, and patting themselves on the back for cooperating with each other long enough to solve a murder case. As if a bunch of grown men working together to solve a murder case is some sort of extraordinary achievement that is rarely attempted.

The station owner says he has videos of the three perps, I tend to believe him.

I just cannot figure out why they won't release any images from the surveillance video, or the images they're reportedly going around town with. I can only think of a few things that would make sense.

1) if the suspects are high school students or juveniles

2) if they already know who the suspects are and are monitoring their whereabouts while they collect more evidence as to their involvement. Therefore, they dont need the public's help.

3) if they really don't have anything to go on and are just following up on leads they receive.

I hope it's #2. They already know who the suspects are and they're just trying to dot all their i's and cross all their t's.

I hope it is #2 as well, and I also think #1 the suspects are minors, otherwise I have no idea. But now it appears that things were not being done right, because of the internal investigation, though that may not have anything to do with the murder of Lt Gliniewicz. And why are people talking about videos they have, you would think the authorities would have told people, don't talk to the public about these matters.

That gas station is east of where the shooting occurred, less than half a mile on Rollins Rd., just before the Ingleside gas station. I'd consider this detail important enough to include on steelman's map. This could mean whomever is being referred to was at the gas station before or after the shooting. I'd think after was less likely, thinking they would fleeing quickly. Also, in recent pressers, they discussed the county traffic camera system and how the county took the liberty to save footage from being regularly overwritten. There is a county camera at the intersection of Rollins Rd. and Washington with a camera pointed east and one pointed west. This is the intersection of the entrance to the Ingleside Metra train station. It is also a block and a half east of the Mobile gas station with the camera. Likely that they are sourcing footage from these as the closest fixed cameras in the area.

Lt. Gliniewicz's funeral will be held at Antioch High School on Monday. Public viewing begins at 9 a.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m. There will be a procession from the high school to Hillside East Cemetery in Antioch, where Gliniewicz will be laid to rest.

Funeral procession route for any locals: 090415-wls-procession-map-img.jpg

Length looks to be about 24 miles total.

Not sure if this is appropriate here, but this is a short video of the Lt. training the Explorers and gives a nice glimpse into him as a person and professional. It is in the public domain on Facebook and has been posted elsewhere, but not sure of the rules on this.

Mods, no problem with removing if not appropriate.

They are repeatedly asking for the public's help. The FBI is asking for the publics help.

Imo they are developing leads and a chronological video timeline as they are trying to not only identify the suspects, but also tie the suspects to the crime scene.

They can't just show anyone's pictures to the public until they have more information, or I think they open themselves up to multiple law suits.
