I am not talking about it being an extraordinary thing for a police officer to do. I am simply wondering how often did Gliniewiscz take his patrol vehicle home for the night? I understand that some police officers do take their vehicles home. But, did Gliniewiscz do it every night? Once a week? Once a month? Once a year?

And, while we are at it, why should the good citizens of Fox Lake pay for the extra gasoline it would require for him to take it home to another town? It would be one thing if it was once in awhile, quite another if it was every night.

It is a simple question really, which I personally would like to know the answer to.

I can't speak for the Fox Lake Department but I can tell you that most departments on the east coast assign either a marked or an unmarked car to every officer after his probationary period and the officer takes it home with him or wherever else he wants to take it. To church, the store, or to grandma's. It increases visibility of the police and allows much quicker response time to calls.

Even though I am not privy to the policy of this little department I am pretty sure that a Lt. would be taking a car home every night.

Early on it was reported that his mace was missing along with his gun. I know his gun was found, did they ever report on if they found the mace?

So,no current news of the progress oftheinvestigationtoday? Just CNN for a fleetingmoment re:Feds downscaling....I really hoped there would be news today. JMO

I mentioned this a week ago now regarding how he felt in his f'book post after being rejected for the chief role - no one wanted to believe it then, but with the lack of evidence being released, it's looking like perhaps it could be related. There is also a public post about him not having enough money to travel to a mud race in Colorado. Granted, lots of people probably feel this way about not having the money to travel, but you may have to start to wonder if there is something deeper.

It's just all a little fishy with the corruption in the department (investigation and chief retiring), the retirement dates fluctuating (between he should already be retired through he's supposed to retire by the end of the year), and the lack of evidence panning out.

Why haven't we heard where we was before his radio call? Was he at the gym? Coffee? Surely someone would know. Does the mayor or chief have any more information about their meetings with him? Was there something he was upset about at work or with the upcoming retirement? Lots of questions and no evidence/answers coming out. Right now the public has NOTHING to go on in terms of locating the "suspects"...

I don't know how I missed that post on his facebook, being rejected for the chief role. I have been wondering how he took that news. Who knows really about how he took that rejection?

Disregard. Already answered.

CNN now Feds have scaled back involvement in this investigation. US Marshals left a week ago. Rosa Flores, Chicago JMO

That scares me. Who is overseeing the task force to see they are investigating properly? After the current task force throwing the coroner under the bus I have serious questions about their objectivity in this investigation.

It may be an unpopular opinion, but given the history between Filenko and Rudd and Rudd discovering inaccuracies in previous investigation(s) I have some serious concerns.

The comment that I read as to his reaction was matter-of-fact, something like "I got my thanks but no thanks letter today." I keep thinking that the date was April, but someone said August. My impression was that it did not bother him, but he seems to have been a macho guy. JMO

Can you link his FB? I can't find it. Is it still there or has it gone poof?

I think that that woman admitted that her story was a hoax, but I am really interested in what Joe Battaglio (sp?) thinks.....did he just go off the deep end or is he privy to scenarios like this? I think he has a court appearance tomorrow...wonder if it would be live streamed? JMO

I hope so too! Really, why did this retired cop do this? Was he drunk and angry?

I'm not on FB so the few comments that I saw were in a Daily beast article way back in the beginning. I'm not even sure if it was his personal FB it was possibly an Explorers FB page. JMO

I've never done the social media sleuthing. Others here are much better at that than I am. I'm just hoping to see these comments he allegedly posted.

Any links to them would be appreciated.

I am not forgetting about the young woman so soon. Just because she "admitted" it was a hoax doesn't change the effect she had. How do you know she isn't lying again? Has she done this sort of thing before? Does she have a criminal record, etc.

I remember reading somewhere, not sure where, maybe the Lake County Scanner FB page that night or the day after in comments that the woman who phoned in the false sighting had a history of making false police reports and making false claims. Whether it's true or not I don't know, but I think she was known for this kind of thing, though not on such a grand scale.

I think he was probably jealous this guy he believes committed suicide is getting all this attention. But I do wonder if the police have recordings of his threats because at this point I don't trust them not to make this up when all it was was an angry ex cop saying he heard such and such and they need to stop jerking the public around.

I usually follow what people post here. I never sleuth SM independently, I don't have the patience to do so...... Hopefully someone will add some links. Or directions on how to find them.

Didn't he call several agencies on a burner phone? I think he knew what he was doing and the risk. I do not doubt his rage though. JMO.
