This is a public page I follow and this was posted last night. The dog was with the car.
This case is local to me. I am seeing this same report about dog has been located on other public find the missing pages that have shared Randa's information. Her car being found where it was (west and south outskirts of Springfield) but her cell being found near Winchester is very troubling. There isn't really any explanation for that that isn't very concerning. I hope the dog HAS been located. More importantly, I hope Randa is located sooner rather than later. Not a good feeling the longer this goes on.

This poster has me confused, it is the first I have heard that her car was out of gas when located? And that the sighting of her on the west side (wabash) was on foot? And it makes no mention of her cell which was reported as located by coyote hunters in winchester IL? https://www.missinginillinois.org/p...dwJSSgzxbiAUYWg9qZ_nMtW75xrE-E1-UqY-j2z8aOcXQ

reporting my own post to be sure this is an allowable link.

More information has been released about a missing Greene County woman.

39 year old Randa (Long) Davidson was last seen near the intersection of Wabash Avenue and West White Oaks Road in Springfield on foot heading southeast by herself on Tuesday evening around 11PM. She has not been seen nor heard from by family members since.

We know that Randa Long-Davidson's car apparently ran out of gas and was abandoned on Farmingdale Road, just north of Bunker Hill Road, on the west side of Springfield. She was reportedly last seen walking at the intersection of Wabash Avenue and White Oaks Road around 11:00pm that night.

Per Google Maps, the distance between those locations is approximately 5.3 miles, and would take roughly two hours of walking to cover that distance. That's a very long walk, especially at night and in winter weather.

If Randa walked the entire way between these two points then she would have left her car sometime around 9:00pm that night.

I'm not familiar with the Springfield area but it appears Farmingdale Road is very rural, consisting of mostly large farm fields, with only a few homes in that area. The Wabash Avenue and White Oaks Road area is a large commercial area, with many businesses and several restaurants nearby.

Based on what we know at this time, it's unclear why Randa didn't use her phone to call family or friends for a ride home after her car ran out of gas, or why she would walk back to town instead of stopping at a home or business along the way to ask for assistance.

The MSM link below indicates all of her belongings were found in her car, and that she has "no cell phone, money, or transportation".

More information released

We know that her cell phone was found by hunters about 50 miles west of Springfield. At this time we don't know why it was found so far away from her last known location.

Hillview through Winchester, then car is located on Bunker Hill Rd. Makes me think the phone was tossed from the car on her way from her home, before she reached the outskirts of Springfield and then left her disabled vehicle on foot. Man, I hope this lady is safe but with each day that passes that seems less likely.

"At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that she was abducted from Greene County, nor do we suspect any foul play present in her disappearance," McMillen said Monday. "We are currently treating this investigation as an attempt to locate her and check on her well-being, as she may be involved in some type of crisis."

Anyone with information about Davidson's whereabouts or who has had contact with her is asked to call the sheriff's department at 217-942-6901.
Greene authorities trying to unravel missing-woman mystery

@Dargon335 you are correct about the geography. Farmingdale Rd and Bunker Hill are pretty rural, just a bunch of fields and a few houses betwixt and between. As you approach the western outskirts of town proper that is a very commercial area, car dealerships, restaurants, Mall, Shopping, etc. It is generally a super busy area but by 11pm, much less so. stores and restaurants closed at that time of night, and only gas stations probably open at 11pm.

It is possible some type of emotional crisis was involved here of which we are unaware at this time.

Logically, it would make no sense for Randa to throw her phone out of the car window when about 50 miles away from Springfield. However, if she were having an emotional crisis of some kind at that time, then her throwing the phone away her phone in that location is at least a possibility. Without having facts or knowing more about her state of mind at this time we can only speculate.

Do we know if Randa was involved in a relationship that may have caused some emotional distress around this time?

Discarding her phone in this manner could also explain why she did not call family or friends for assistance when her car ran out of gas in the rural area west of Springfield, forcing her to walk about 5 miles to the area where she was last seen.

At least at this time there is no evidence of foul play according to the sheriff's department.

It certainly sounds like LE is heavily implying this. I wonder if she was experiencing paranoia. A lot of people are very paranoid about 5G right now, perhaps something like that made her dump the phone.

Perhaps she thought someone was tracking her via her phone?

Or someone was texting/calling repeatedly and she couldn’t deal with the situation?
I’ve wanted to throw my phone out the window on several occasions. Especially if dealing with drama that tried my patience levels. JMO

Missing woman's body found on Springfield's west side | WICS (newschannel20.com)
Around 4:15 p.m., a Sangamon County Sheriff's detective noticed clothing in the grass near a sidewalk and a pond in the 3100 block of Robbins Road. After getting out of her car to investigate, the detective discovered the body of a white female.

There was no apparent trauma, but exposure to the elements made it difficult to determine.

I'm not sure what happened. But the sad news of her death may leave the mystery unsolved. If she was on foot in Springfield, it's likely that she was the one who was driving the car when it ran out of gas. But why did she let it run out of gas? And why didn't she call someone? Was her phone already in a ditch 50 miles away?

This news is most unfortunate. Certainly not the outcome we were hoping for.

This pond area is directly behind her last known location, the intersection of Wabash Ave. and W. White Oaks Drive. She was seen by someone in this area around 11:00pm so whatever happened to her took place after that time.

My earlier post suggested Davidson could have walked from her abandoned car to the intersection where she was last seen, a distance of over 5 miles. This is certainly possible, however I'm also wondering if perhaps someone gave her a ride to this location. AFAIK there's no evidence to suggest that, but it might be a good question to ask.

We'll have to wait for the official cause of death, but regardless this is tragic.

my thoughts are with her family. I am glad she was located, at least they won't be left with the unknowing for another day :(

I was thinking yesterday about all the ponds in that general area. Because of all the commercial development out that way, part of the infrastructure required ponds and green spaces interspersed all throughout the business strip. The pond on Robbins was one such body of water that caught my eye. RIP Randa

When I first saw the notice that Davidson's body had been found, I assumed she was actually found in the pond, however after re-reading the MSM posts that is not the case. Apparently she was found in the grassy area near the pond, not the pond itself.

Since this is quite a commercial area, with many businesses nearby, I'm wondering if local LE has any security video showing Davidson's activity at this time?

most of the businesses in that area on Robbins are commercial office spaces, insurance companies and they probably have surveillance but not likely on the back of the buildings. Marine bank is also right next to that pond but the pond is to the rear. I think they are the most likely of those nearby businesses that might have cameras facing the area of interest, because, well bank.

The area she was found is a 6 minute walk from the area last seen on foot near the Thonrton's gas station on Wabash headed southeast. that pond is located a bit northeast of that sighting.

I feel so bad for her loved ones. We shared some mutual acquaintances. I hope they can get some answers that leads them eventually to closure. I worry that this was an instance similar to that of young Dr. Tamika Banks in Michigan back in 2014. Her poor family never could quiet accept that there was not foul play but rather, a soul in crisis.
