I'm right there with you MarthaM. What a sadly confusing case :(

Hope he's found soon, one way or another

I have hope as well....it was mentioned once in a MSM article (can't find link), that her note indicated "he won't be found"....I hope she had that confidence because she knew who would have him and where he'd be....like another country. That comment along with her statement and the fact that there hasn't been a shred of evidence (clothing, toy) found and something took 7 hours to arrange that Friday......I have to think he's still out there......but where?

I was in Plano, IL this past weekend at a Walmart, several (about 12) different pictures of missing children, but not Timmothy. We'll never find him with that kind of coverage.

Id have to go back and find it, but how far did she ping from where she comitted suicide? What if she spen those missing hours with timmothy? Thats IF he is no longer with us :(Maybe he is closer than they think? Idk, I just spent the night reading 2 threads and my brain is drained.

She last pinged NW of Sterling, IL. 6 hours later she was spotted in Winnebago, IL without Timmothy. It's about 50 miles between the two points.

Police have searched that parks in between the two locations, but she could have gone to so many different places it's like a needle in a haystack. I wish they could find something more substantial.

I still think he's out there.

this case still haunts me.

a thought.....somewhere I recall reading that one of the items found in the rockford hotel room was childrens cough syrup. Why? How much was left and was any found in her system? Was this used on Timmy and could this cause a little boy to overdose? It's interesting to me how little I hear about this case and difficult it is to understand the whole story......I still think there's a good chance he's still out there and that there is WAY MORE TO THIS CASE THAN WE KNOW!!!!!

Does children's cough syrup these days make kids drowsy? It's been too long since I looked at a bottle so I don't know. If so, perhaps she gave him some to make him sleep while she did whatever she did or took him wherever she took him.

Of course, it might just be that he had a cough and that's why she had it, too.

None of the OTC childrens cough medicine has ever made my child drowsy. Prescription cough medicine with codeine would make a child drowsy. I don't recall which was found with her, otc or prescription.

Only if it has something like diphenhydramine (Benadryl) in it, but they have regulated the OTC kids medications much more stringent as of late, I am not even sure that is in them anymore.

I believe that Camden Hughes' death involved cough medicine (can't find link). I do hope it was for her (the Mom - easing her death) rather than him though. Prayers that he is found safe and well.

I forgot about that. didn't they regulate certain OTC meds which are now behind the counter? Also, IIRC they pulled some infants meds off the market entirely within the last few years.

It may be that with whatever prescription anti psychotic or depression meds mom was taking she would have had an adverse reaction to childrens meds and chose to take a liquid versus a pill because she would have felt the effect sooner with a liquid. The childrens meds may not have been for Timmothy at all or may have been for use by both Timmy and mom.

Good point. I had forgotten that. Was it ever released what med she gave Camden?

it's interesting that we seem to have an inventory of thing purchased from different stores along her route, but none of them include the cough medicine. Where did it come from, why would she bring it in the room, and how much was gone? I doubt this was brought from home as she didn't pack anything, even toothpaste (puchased at the Racine Shopko). If this was for her own use, why would childrens cough syrup be the choice?? .....why not get the strong stuff?

I too remembered that Camden has been giiven the same thing....as I understood, it was an OD, but not sure if that was the long cause of death. I'll see what I can find.

The mother of a 6-year-old boy missing from Aurora predicted the child would “never” be found before taking her own life several months ago in a Rockford hotel room, authorities say.

Timmothy Pitzen last was seen May 13 — one day before his mother Amy Fry-Pitzen was found dead with a box cutter under her body. Winnebago County authorities said Friday that Fry-Pitzen left a note that reads: “Tim was somewhere safe with people who love him and will take care of him. You will never find him.”

In the meantime, Aurora police continue ongoing efforts to find Timmothy, Chief Greg Thomas said Friday.

Thanks for posting that article. I've been checking periodically to see if there's been any news, but it doesn't look like that.

As I've said before, I go back and forth between whether I think Timmothy is alive or not. When I see his mother's words about how 'you will never find him' makes me lean toward the 'alive' side. It just doesn't sound like something she'd say if he were dead; at some point, it's likely his body would be found. And if somebody does have him, I'm thinking that they know his family's looking for him but aren't going to say a word. But Timmothy's not a baby or toddler; he's old enough to remember who he really is, his name, where he used to live, etc. Don't you think?

Just rambling.

Article too short to snip. Video at link above. It states that Amy did not have illegal drugs or alcohol in her system. She did have a high level of antihistamines.

Police Disclose New Details

Three months after a 6-year-old Aurora boy disappeared, police have released new information about the case, including the discovery of a "concerning amount" of the child's blood in the backseat of his mother's SUV.

But police cautioned that they don't know how long the blood had been there, and that it could have come from a nosebleed he suffered in the last year or so.

Investigators also released surveillance video showing Timmothy's mother taking him out of school on May 11, plus two home video clips

In the home clips, Timmothy is seen dressed in Spiderman pajamas and piecing a guitar from Tinker Toys and playing it as he hums a song. In the surveillance video, Fry-Pitzen is seen waiting in the school until the boy, with a backpack, approaches and they walk off together.

Wow. This is the key part of the article for me:

After accessing Fry-Pitzen's I-Pass account, police learned that she made two trips to the area of Dixon, Rock Falls and Sterling in the winter that relatives cannot explain.
That actually makes me think it's more likely that he's still alive and that his mother was arranging something with someone out in that area. Of course, it's 'what' the something is and 'who' the someone is that are the big questions.

It would seem that she was planning this for a while, took a Timmothy on a 'farewell' trip, and then went ahead with plans she had set up over the winter.
