Victor is described as a white man, 6-foot 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, with brown eyes, long brown hair, and a long brown beard. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and black jeans, the sheriff's office said.

Victor was last seen on July 15, when he was released from the hospital. He has not returned home since and was officially reported missing on Aug. 5, according to police.

The Sheriff's office has a lot more information. Sounds like he is homeless, the photo provided by the Sheriff, does appear to indicate a medical or potential substance abuse issue, he looks VERY thin IMO (which might explain the hospital stay.)

Thanks for clarifying that. If you just read the missing person poster with the basic info and several photos that the Will County Sheriff had up on their FB page (the poster now removed), it sort of implied that he was on his own, but if you read the entire article it DOES state he lives with his parents. So thanks again!

Great work in finding that! I'd seen the instagram, but without having his tech background wasn't sure based on just the photos alone if that was him, didn't seem to fit (with what info I had) the description of him as unumployed, no vehicle, no credit cards, etc. and no social media that LE had put out. Thanks!

His last instagram post was in December 2023 so things were going reasonably well then and then it seems like something happened in the past year and a half.

I find it a bit odd that in the two photos of him, he looks like he’s drinking yerba mate. Are they the same day? Did he just routinely drink yerba mate? (It’s consumed in a special cup with straw). It’s just a bit of a strange thing. Sounds like a lot has happened in the past few years.

If you look at his personal and “business” instagrams, it’s fairly evident he’s been struggling with his mental health for a number of years. Some of it COVID related. His Robobabi account is particularly odd. It’s just AI generated images of women, going back to August of 2020. I don’t think this was a real company, but a figment of his mental illness sadly. Probably also explains why he is living at home. JMO The Facebook comments above seem hopeful so hoping they find him and get him support soon.

That's definitely possible. I thought his company seemed weird as well but it looked like from his linked in that he is a Software Engineer and last held a job that started in 2018. No end date listed.

Unfortunately, the status of this case remains unchanged. All of the tips and leads that we have received to date have not resulted in Victor being located. We continue to ask for the public's help in finding Mr. Salov and ask that you share his information.
