I came across this news article dated Feb. 22, 2017. Thought this was interesting....

Abbie Williams. The girls were reported missing around 5.30pm on the day of their hike and found dead a day later Indiana State Police are looking beyond the town of Delphi for a man photographed near the trail around the time a relative dropped the girls off, Sgt. Kim Riley told WLFI-TV in Lafayette.

Authorities said they are expanding the search for a suspect in the killings of two girls

"We are actually expanding out," Riley said. "We want people who may have seen somebody walking, that may have picked up a hitchhiker, that may have seen a hitchhiker around that afternoon."

Snapchat murder girls, 14 and 13, recorded suspected killer ordering them ‘down the hill’

This is one of the things I have referred to in the past

They expanded their search out fairly early and entertained many possible SM connections

I have confidence that they have more narrowly focused their investigation for a specific reason

I just don't know what that reason is

But I think its a very definitive one

Eeks, all of us here posting fit that description in that we want to know what they know as he said to the murderer and the press conference.
I am innocent ! You could not pay me enough to walk that scary Bridge....LOL !....moo

There is zero evidence this crime is in anyway tied to any religion or anyone in L.E.

Well, in all fairness we are not sure what evidence LE has, so I don’t think we can comment on any “evidence.”

But as far as we know, LE hasn’t revealed that they have any evidence related to religion or anyone in LE. We do not know what they have found at the crime scene, or elsewhere.

I'm with you. I couldn't make myself walk across that bridge.

so, as I was reading previous threads, I read a comment that gave me a thought. it was about the BG stills/video and how it's zoomed in and pixelated. I thought maybe, just maybe in the "full shot" of the stills/video LE have, it's clearer, and they're able to see some of the details better than we are. for example, it might be obvious he's xx years old, or he does/n't have facial hair, wearing a hoodie, or what have you.

Gray Hughes (member here) did an excellent video in the past month as to the distance and the pixelation that would have happened with her phone at that distance.

That said, there was another case where NASA or somebody else went through a video, and was able to make it clear because they had technology which overlaid the pixels of each frame of the video in some way to make it clear. I cannot remember what case that was. But it was technology that took different stills of the video to make the pixel colors different and clarify it.

I'm not a criminal, dont have a shady past, I'm adopted but know my biological family. And I still have zero intentions of giving up my DNA.

If you aren't connected to Delphi it's sort of irrelevant. If a person who was connected to Delphi and discouraged a relative from putting their DNA in a database, after the murders, well maybe it's worth a look.

Don't you think?

I've been sitting on my hands for the last few days just reading, scrolling and rolling.
Every time I begin to get frustrated by the repeat questions and case basics, I instead focus on being grateful for the forum and the renewed interest in the case.

All that said, this morning I had a thought that I'd love some input on...

The whole 'two weeks' parameter put out in the presser has been a sticky point for me.
It's one thing to say 'please allow the family some time', or 'please don't contact the family until they make it clear they're ready to talk to the press', etc. I've never heard a specific timeline set before?
I envision a media circus camping out waiting for the end of the 14th day to pounce.
At first I thought that, as many have said, they are waiting on DNA, Parabon, etc- some lab report that would give more details, perhaps even a more definitive sketch.

HOWEVER- given the major upheaval resulting from changing the sketch last week, I realized this morning that it would be very bizarre, and perhaps unlikely, for them to have a presser with a new sketch release and then plan to release another Parabon sketch or the like in another two weeks. After 2 years, it would seem that if they had a plan to generate a Parabon sketch, they'd do that and THEN have the presser & the sketch change.

SO- I'm back to wondering why the two weeks? Is there significance or am I straw grasping? I understand the religious significance of the dates surrounding the presser and don't discount that as a variable in the case for reasons unknown to us- is there something else happening next week or an anniversary being marked that would make that 2 week mark critical to someone?

Sorry for the 'War and Peace' type entry. I don't comment often, but apparently when I do I make up for lost time in word count!!!

Back to my cud.... MOO.

The families have been very forthcoming with the media all along but other than elevating focus on the case, I’m not sure what more they can really say other than what they’ve already said. Maybe they asked for two weeks to allow the initial frenzy to settle?

IMO the two weeks was somewhat like a polite no comment with a specific timeframe attached, considering they can’t be expected to critique a LE press conference. But then people might now be attempting to interpret the significance of “no comment”.

Definitely. But, unfortunately, the time frame of the murders coincides with the timeframe of these tests increasing in popularity/becoming a topic of conversation/people either hating or loving the idea, etc. It wouldn't really be a "red flag" if someone refused to do that.

that could be too. but I also know when I take a picture of a squirrel, you can see it's a squirrel eating with him little hands but if I zoom and crop it's just a fluffy brown blur.

I understand your thinking, But I believe that the video was taken at a great distance and BG was probably about the size of an eraser tip on a phone screen.

very small and very far away, they had to likely zoom in and try to clean up as much as they could just to get a viable image MOO

Has LE asked for local people to voluntarily come forward, in order to compile a DNA database?

I’m curious if that’s within the realm of their legal authority?

It's an interesting question. You're right. Quite a specific time. Two weeks.

An experience of mine today which reminded me of the girls:
I was walking to the library through a park and was at a intersection of paths in front of a parking lot. I decided to go in the opposite direction of a homeless man, which lead me towards a less public area. As I was walking I noticed that a pickup truck with a man + the trunk hatch down would stop until I caught up next to them, then would drive forward again, staring at me most of the time. After about a minute of this he sped into a parking spot where I would be walking by. I got that sick feeling and turned around, walking quickly in the direction of the homeless man instead. He just gave me a smile and went on with his day.
I'm not much older than Abby & Libby were, and I'm certainly not as strong/athletic as them. This was in a fairly public place where I had cell reception and the homeless man could hear me scream if anything went wrong, yet I was terrified and had that gut reaction to get away.
I can't imagine how terrified and hopeless they felt, and all they had to turn to was their own strength and recording BG.
It also showed me how wrong my sense of judgement is. We assume that the scariest looking person is the one out to get us, but it is very likely a clean cut guy respected within the community. Just thought I'd share before I head back on that path home

Wow. That is scary. Good post.

let me ask a question ; so they get a lot of tips from basically everyone who watched the PC and thinks they have figured out who this guy is say for example we all sent tips in saying it was a certain guy , would this be enough to force that certain guy to give DNA ?

In my opinion, it wouldn’t mean a thing.

I don’t think it would either, if the tips are only of a cyber suspect. I recall it mentioned how certain FB groups were collaborating to collectively bombard the tip line with a possible suspect. If that’s happening, I’m certain LE has long ago noticed this tactic.

But if enough local people were suspicious of one particular person, known to each of them, that would pique LE’s attention I’m sure.

Go look for an interview with Kelsi. She mentions exactly what they were doing the previous two weekends. It's a taboo subject here so you need to do your own research.

Surely you can link an MSM interview?

  • #878
Honestly I have entertained the thought that the family may be given somewhat of a script to go off of when the MSM contacts them in two weeks that plays into Investigators on going strategy jmo

Excellent reasoning MOO

I've seen examples of LE stating publicly to media that "There's
no danger to the community", when in actuality there is danger since they don't know yet who committed the crime and with no
arrest yet, off course the community is in danger. LE does not like to incite panic or lack of confidence in the safety of their community. moo.

Exactly. No one in Delphi is letting their kids hike alone at the moment.

  • #880
All of my sleuthing isn't to solve the crime. It's to find out what LE knows that they are not telling us! I'm nosey like that.
Yes!!
