500 POI's? It's worded to me that they mean currently. That seems like a lot. Does anyone know if that amount is common? I do not. Hopefully he's one of them.

Sadly, the overall tone from LE doesn't sound super hopeful. It's easy to read between the lines.

With nothing new being reported..... anyone have any thoughts on the people that mining for gold? There's youtube videos of it, in the area the girls were found. I remember it being posted in the very beginning of this case. Those people camped in the area, knew the area well.
Now I have no idea why these girls would have been targeted.
I don't even know if Libby knew the killer, but maybe Abby did? Or maybe they knew of him, but didn't know a name?


I realize it's usually someone close to the victims, either family, friend of family, friend of friend, coworker, school mate, sibling of school mate, etc, etc, etc... some connections to one or both girls. But there's always those stranger attacks as well.

With so little to go on.... if nothing else, viewing those gold mining videos would give newcomers an idea of the area more, or refresh memories of those here from the beginning.

Weird that you just mentioned mining. I was just thinking that people can can get rickets from no exposure to sun, like a coal miner, and only thinking that way if his legs are bowed like I'm thinking.

I'm just hoping to put the brakes on a rumor in the making. Even if RL is in the max security section of New Castle, it doesn't mean he's an extremely dangerous person. From the website for New Castle Correctional Facility, this is a description of who is kept there.

If he is suffering from depression caused by alcohol withdrawal or anything else, there's a good chance he'd need to be in a mental health facility. I believe he also had mental health evaluation/treatment as part of his sentence in the past, and they may be providing it there Of course, there could be any number of other reasons for sending him there, but I don't think we should jump to any conclusions about which is/are accurate. MOO

Thanks. I sure hope you are right about the possibility of him being put there for mental health issues.

For the record, I've never, ever thought he was guilty of the murders nor did I ever think he was a dangerous person.

My concern regarding why he was moved there is if they did it for his safety.

Well.. there we have it...500 POIs...that is so very depressing... all it says to me is they have not a clue who he is. I hope I'm wrong, but at 3 months out, we have nothing, and over 500, FIVE HUNDRED!!! POSSIBLE PEOPLE OF INTEREST. my god.

I would say 5'8" to 5'11" max. I don't think he is tall. I think the bulk inside the jacket is whatever he stuffed in it as well as a bit of a middle aged gut.

That is close to the number of white adult males 24-65 in Delphi as of 2015.

How long would it take to process/compare DNA for 500 people? Surely they can't "rush" 500 samples.

Hi all, first-time poster here! Thanks everyone for all the great info and analysis.

Now I'm wondering if you all believe, as I do IMO, that BG is left-handed.* AFAIK LE has never mentioned his likely left-handedness. This seems like a strange thing to leave out while pleading with the public to help identify him IMO, as it eliminates from suspicion 90 percent of the population.

For those that also believe BG is a lefty, any ideas on this?

I haven't been able to follow along in a while, I hope I'm not rehashing something that's already been throughly discussed.


* The idea that he is a lefty comes from what appears IMO to be a back-facing gun-shaped object holstered at his right shoulder in the bridge pics - I've seen this pointed out here but not sure how much it's been discussed.

The LE interviewed about the SW at RLs farm said " He is well known to us" so he already had a reputation with them. But he doesnt appear to be being treated fairly - his punishment, likley losing his farm and jail seem to much for the violation.

It is perplexing. I did find this on wiki though: The facility is rated as minimum- to medium-security, but also has a maximum-security psychiatric unit and annex.

So it sound to me like it runs the gamut from minimum to super secure.

I haven't found out yet if it has alcohol rehabilitation.
