It’s chilling to think BG took a trophy from the crime scene to help him relive what he did but it’s highly likely.

Could robbery have also been an initial motive? Items to pawn like jewellery for instance, cash etc. Then the robbery went wrong. Was one of the girls carrying/wearing a backpack?

DeDee, could you give us a little more info on these pages you bolded. I can't find anything and would like to read the reviews you are telling about. Are they businesses, are they in Delphi, are they both facebook? Thanks!

I just googled " white excavating indiana" and "vanguard indiana" and both companies came up. The former looks like a Owner Operator and the latter is a trailer company. Haven't found the Facebook yet though.

Keen observation about the hair tie. I am wondering now what would be the reason for obscuring it in the photo. Was this item not found at the crime scene?

I am wondering the same thing..perhaps the hair tie wasn't found at the scene & BG took it with him as a memento..it isn't unheard of. One more thing that the police want kept under wraps because the murderer is the only one who would be able to describe it (except for whomever else in the family happened to observe what was used to put Abby's hair up that day...and it was not anyone in the family). In my opinion it wasn't a friend either..more like an acquaintance.

When I was living with my boyfriend of seven years he dressed up as a pirate for Halloween and when he appeared in front of me I can still remember the shock I felt..I DID NOT RECOGNIZE HIM. Chilling to say the least. Face makeup, a scarf around his head, different clothes and I would have never recognized him if I saw him walking down the street...or when he appeared before me if he didn't tell me who he was! He had even changed his voice!

I truly believe that he was an acquaintance of one or both girls...and targeted/stalked them through an internet site possibly. I also believe that neither of them recognized him because he was so well disguised. The only reason Libby took the video of him is because he did walk by them from the south side as GH believes..and made a sudden turn ...appearing like he was going to walk around Abby (who was the smaller of the two & the one closest & easiest to grab)..using her to gain control & compliance over Libby. I think he saw Libby's snapchat photos that she took of Abby & the bridge that day (via his cell phone)..but was already at the Monon High Bridge area perhaps enjoying the day and taking pictures himself!

I tend to agree with GH'S theory as to what happened because it makes the most sense (to me) of the theories presented so far. Everything I have said is moo and I'd be interested in what others think may have happened. ALL theories are important to share at this point. Don't you agree?

I don't think so Shiressleuth..the girls were young..less apt to have much money or expensive jewelry on them. I believe that Abby did have a handbag/purse on HER RIGHT ARM in the picture of her on the bridge..and perhaps Libby had a backpack so as not to have to carry her sweatshirt(her grandmother insisted she take with her) in her hand..but I don't think it was robbery imo.

All theories are important if there is evidence to support those theories. There is no evidence that BG was acquainted with the girls prior to the day of their murder.

The theory that BG was acquainted with the girls remains a remote possibility only; it makes no sense to latch onto a theory that lacks evidence to support it.

The advice LE is getting about not releasing more info could be very bad advice. As we know, the FBI makes some rather major blunders. Not sure if they are getting advice from them...but I would rethink it. Nothing seems to be happening.

Completely agree. Unfortunately, the days of putting blind trust in LE & the FBI
are over. Remember the days when people would actually lose their jobs for giant mistakes?

I believe they had gotten the DNA back and it matched to other unsolved murders and Libby got the video and voice. At the time, LE was saying they just wanted to talk to BG. I don't think they would've used the word hero if Libby had caught the image of her own killer. I believe Libby caught the image of a SK. JMO

I can't figure out if the case is REALLY at a standstill or if they're just keeping EVERYTHING they know quiet. It could go either way but, judging from their statements, it doesn't sound good.

I think he was referring to her being a "hero" for catching video footage of her own murderer. It was a double murder of two children and she caught what they probably thought, at the time, was the best piece of evidence.

I may be surprised, but I can't believe they would refuse to release a small clip of BG walking if they didn't know who he was. IMO they're watching BG while they connect the dots to the Delphi connection. JMO

I don't think they have a clip of him walking. I think what we see in regards to BG is what they have. If she was holding the phone down at an angle and trying to be stealthy about it then it may have mostly recorded the bridge, the sky, the ground, etc. except for the split second that it landed on BG (3 times). When my kid is videotaping, walking through the house, you get the floor, the ceiling, the walls, and then a split second of the cat before it goes back to the ceiling. I think that was the case here because she was filming while moving and trying to act like she wasn't doing anything at all. I think if there was actually a clip of him taking steps then they would've released that as well as the stilled shot.

I was just thinking about Jennifer Kesse. That's another young woman who disappeared (most likely murdered) with video footage of her POI. Still no closure for her case and it's been years. It's so frustrating when there are pictures/videos yet an arrest remains elusive.

I don't believe we should believe anything as fact except what is verified by LE.
Just because someone makes videos and states they know the families doesnt really mean anything to me.

And even then, LE can and does make false statements to the public if it suits them, so.......

Interestingly Abby is wearing the same blouse/shirt and on the bridge, as she was wearing when GPC was visiting, took her shopping etc..

When GBC said he visited the "weekend before the murder", that is the weekend of the 11/12, not the weekend of the 4/5. Abby stayed at Libby's house on the night of Sun to Mon, as had been discussed before. I am wondering, if GPC possibly took her shopping on Saturday, the 11th. She may be wearing the same outfit (blouse and jeans) as she was wearing on Monday, 2/13, the day of the murder.

The picture of Abby with the glove may have been taken in the hotel parking lot. I checked Riley Park (if that is where they went) and they would not have played in the park parking lot, but on the grass IMO. You can see some kind of a vehicle to the left of Abby in the full 6ABC video and possibly a transformer box (?). More of a hotel parking lot setting, plus I was unable to locate such box in Riley Park (again, if that's where they went).
