Just watched the "Disappeared" episode about Ciera. I noticed a couple of things I hadn't read before, but may have missed:

In this episode, they mention LE subpoenaed Ciera's cell phone data. It showed (didn't give date) Ciera's phone registered a mile from XB's mom's house by the Chattahoochee River. On March 1, 2022 a search was conducted in the river. According to LE her phone indicated she had been there an extended amount of time. Cadaver dogs, boats, LE and fire dept were there searching. Nothing was found.

The investigation into the route from Johns Creek to Carmel, IN showed the surveillance footage...no Ciera but saw XB as mentioned upthread.

LE mentioned to Ciera's mom that there are steep cliffs from Knoxville to Ohio..LE mentioned these cliffs are often used for others to throw people off (!)

Where did XB put you Ciera? The only way she will be found IMO is if XB talks unfortunately.

Do we know about how long an "extended period of time" might be? Maybe 15 minutes? An hour?

I haven't looked at a map of this area recently but if Ciera's phone was at this location (Chattahoochee River) for some time, and that location is only a mile or so from XB's mother's residence, IMO it seems reasonable to assume an event of some type may have taken place there. Are there any businesses in that area that might have video of that time period or perhaps that is a secluded area?

I'm wondering whether Ciera still had possession of her phones, or if perhaps XB took them from her after leaving his mother's home. In any case, we now know one or more of her phone(s) was pinged in that area based on the data uncovered by LE.

AFAIK Ciera sent no text or phone messages after leaving XB's mother's residence, and no one, except for XB, claims to have actually seen Ciera after leaving that residence.

Has there been any official statements from MSM or LE about what events took place at XB's mothers home?

It is shameful to me when a parent won’t do the right thing for another parent!!! XB’s mom knows something! She needs to do the right thing

Hopefully the ID show will bring Ciera into the limelight. No recent news here in Carmel area.

Investigation Discovery’s ‘Disappeared: New Mom Missing’ follows the mysterious disappearance of 31-year-old Ciera Breland from Johns Creek in Fulton County, Georgia, in February 2022. The FBI has declared a $10,000 reward for any information about the whereabouts of the missing woman. So who is this Ciera and what had happened to her? Let’s find out.
I just saw this episode. Hard to believe LE is at a standstill on this one.

I agree, however it's possible that LE needs additional facts and evidence before they could formally charge XB in Ciera's disappearance.

Based on media reports and earlier posts in this case, we know Ciera told her parents she decided to leave XB and asked them to allow her and her son to move in with them. She also indicated she had no intention of returning with XB to Indiana, so clearly the relationship between Ciera and XB had completely broken down by this point.

What we don't know at this point are the specifics of what took place on 20 February, when Ciera went to XB's mother's home to pick up their son. AFAIK there's been very little information released by LE or the media about what took place there. MSM reports indicate that Ciera texted her cousin several times that day, indicating that XB would not give up custody of their son, and that Ciera was last seen on security video during the early evening, but beyond that not much is publicly known.

Also, it's my understanding that no one from XB's family has provided a detailed account to the media of the events that day, so the only likely witness to these events would be Ciera, XB, and members of XB's family who were in the home at the time of these events. Hopefully LE has the complete details of these events.

ETA: The link below from June provides a good case summary as of that time.

I wonder who's taking care of the baby?
This case is devastating. It's been obvious from day 1 what happened :( IMO

Agreed. IMO the developments at XB's mother's home that day are fairly obvious given the events leading up to this day, however at this time we simply don't have enough facts and witness statements to know for certain what took place there.

XB's family has been keeping a very low profile since Ciera went missing, and most likely they are the only surviving witnesses to the events that took place.

Unfortunately true crime websites contain many similar cases involving a DV component.

MOO

I haven't watched the documentary but I was glad to read in the article (below) that XB's mother's home was searched by LE, including forensic experts & cadaver dogs.

An article from a month ago:

It was not clear how much Xavier Breland's mother was cooperating with police in the investigation, but it is now known that investigators collected evidence from that home when they executed a search warrant.

Johns Creek police confirmed in the documentary investigators brought in forensic experts and even cadaver dogs. They were searching for blood stains, signs of a struggle, or anything that might have given a clue to as what happened during the couple’s stay.

Police said the K9 did not find a good scent trail at the home.

The type of evidence collected from the home was not revealed as the case remains under investigation.

@vls12345 Thank you for providing this summary of events from Fox5. Interesting to note that LE executed a search warrant on XB's mother's home for evidence of criminal activity there.

MOO, but I doubt XB would have committed any physical violence against Ciera while at his mother's home since family members, including his mother, would be witnesses, but anything is possible in this case.

Ciera Breland
  • Johns Creek, Georgia
  • Went Missing: February 2022
  • Status: Pending
When she went missing, Ciera Breland was 31 and a hard worker who eventually fulfilled her dream of becoming a lawyer. She, her husband Xavier, their dog and 5-month-old drove around 550 miles from Indiana to Georgia to visit their parents earlier this year. Then, Breland drove herself and the baby alone to her parents’ home in Cleveland, Georgia on Feb. 19. Breland stayed at her parents’ house until Feb. 20. Six days later, the parents got a call from the Carmel, Indiana police notifying them that their daughter was missing.

Xavier Breland was a person of interest in her case, and remained so as of December, Lt. Deb Cole of the Johns Creek Police Department said. He is currently in jail on contempt of court charges, although these are not connected to Cierra Breland’s disappearance. Earlier this year, he was found not guilty in an unrelated stalking case. Defense lawyer Bryan Howard, who is representing Xavier Breland, says he is innocent, telling WSB-TV that his client has “cooperated with police.”

Anyone with information about the disappearance of Ciera Breland can call the Johns Creek Police Tip Line at 678-474-1610.

Bumping for Ciera.

Anyone have updates to share? I've found nothing new in MSM regarding her case.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The husband of a Carmel woman missing for nearly a year will soon be extradited to Indiana from a county jail in Georgia.
Xavier Breland Jr. has been held in the Coweta County Jail on stalking and harassment charges since March 2022.
Online court records show Xavier Breland faces a charge out of Hamilton County for unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. The charge was filed in November for an incident that happened on Feb. 28, 2022,two days after he reported his wife, Ciera Breland, missing.
Police have never called Xavier Breland a suspect in his wife’s disapprearance, only saying that he was a “person of interest.”
