I think this woman is about to be ID'd. I saw a post and picture of who she may be and even the mole matched.

Rumours afoot on FB that the head has been ID'd as someone completely unrelated and unreported. TBC but prob not Diamond.

Every time I see this thread bumped I hope they have been found or it's a notice to let us know they were found ages ago and have been safe and well for all this time. I'm pretty sure it's a false hope, but still

I think I worded my last post badly. I don't think it looks a close enough match to Diamond...the ears look different and other features look too different to my eyes, though it is hard to tell.

Regardless, this poor person deserves a thread. She looks young, the sketch is heartbreaking, she has a beauty about her...whatever happened to her shouldn't have happened. What did happen? Who is she? Who did this to her? And is there a connection to any other cases?

Diamond's teeth are distinctive enough that I don't think the authorities would have needed to get a sketch out to the public if there was any chance that UID might be her.

Diamond Bynum, 21, and her nephew King Walker were reported missing after their stepmother woke up from a daytime nap on July 25, 2015 and found that they were gone from their home near 5th Avenue and Matthews Street in Gary, according to a statement from the Northwest Indiana Major Crimes Task Force.

It has now been a year since Diamond and King have been missing. They did not just vanish off the face of the earth. Someone out there knows something about their disappearance. Where are you Diamond & King?

I've been hoping Diamond and King are being cared for and will return home safely. But, after a year, that possibility has faded. I'm wondering if there are any bodies of water within their neighborhood. Could Diamond have taken King to a park within walking distance, where King ran to the water and fell in, and then he and Diamond both drowned when she tried to rescue him? What about retention ponds between their home and a store Diamond frequents where this could happen? I'm sure this possibility has been explored by LE, but I don't remember where any of the searches took them. Whenever someone goes missing without any signs of foul play, I've learned to suspect a drowning.

Right, and I think there's a natural tendency to attribute a mysterious disappearance to foul play. But, why would someone kidnap a young woman with a toddler? I've read on other threads that it's extremely rare for a predator to kidnap more than one person at a time, and in the rare event it does happen the victims are close in age. Certainly, a human trafficker wouldn't want a toddler in tow, and a child predator would only be interested in King so might have to fight Diamond to get him. In the latter case, though, where is Diamond? The predator would simply flee with the child and not concern himself with Diamond, no matter what condition she was in.

IMO, applying Occam's Razor in the case, I would assume that Diamond and King were victims of an accident rather than foul play. IIRC, abandoned buildings were searched. What about construction sites? The only other likely method of concealment in an urban environment, that I can think of, would be a body of water. There have been other cases where this occurred (due to an accident) and the body discovered a year or more later. I hope LE and independent search groups are still searching. The family deserves answers.

Oh god. I was reading this for a while trying to catch up and only a minute or two ago did I realise it said 2015! Sat here think they had been missing since July 2016 wondering why they hadn't been found now I'm just out of possibilities What an absolute double tragedy for this family ^^ Indy Anna, I agree. Accident seems the most possible answer. Although it doesn't seem as if anything is currently being done to find them - searches of anywhere I mean.
