So do I. I keep checking all the newspapers and facebook hoping one morning to see that have been found.Still check everyday. Still Pray everyday. Still hope everyday. Hugs to all of you that are agonizing over these two innocents as I am.
Was there any information on the possible sighting at the gas station? Did they get the tapes?
There was a case of a baby that went missing a few years ago, I forget the name but she has a section in the forum. After a few months the police stopped looking with the unspoken assumption being that it was the parents but there no evidence of where the baby went or who abducted or killed her.
My suspicion is that the police suspect something similar here, that it stayed in the family. I find that dissatisfying --not just that it's frustrating when no one is charged and there are no answers as to what happened to the missing, but if it was only one of them it would make a lot more sense. Diamond would be difficult to look after, she's grown into a young woman, and without any external trace it would make sense to focus on the close family and/or friends and relatives. I'm not saying I think the family are responsible, because this case isn't that simple, it's King as well, and at the same time. Plus there's the alleged sighting and sniffer dog trace to the gas station and the possibility that they got into a car...which is quite plausible.
I don't believe this has anything to do with sex trafficking. Diamond wouldn't be docile or compliant enough to be a party in something like that....it would have to be a one-off act of violence if there was any sexual aspect to this. And it could be something like that if it was an abduction for that kind of reason, an opportunistic criminal seeing the two of them together would likely recognize a 'simple' girl who could be drawn into a car, but that's all they would know from the brief observation.
I don't believe Diamond has lost weight and is walking around out there on her own any more than King is. Diamond is not capable of being an adult carer for herself or for King. If they went off alone they either came to an accident or foul play, and since no bodies have been found I think foul play is more likely. I don't know a lot about the location where they went missing from but it's not like they've fallen over a cliff or gone for a walk along the seashore and the sea came in unexpectedly. She's either been taken care of by someone (who's going to take on the job of 24/7 carer to a special needs adult? This takes us into close relative territory, not a stranger abduction) or I'm afraid she's dead.
I find it a little hard to be too angry at the police. I'm sure they followed every lead they possibly could and spent time looking for leads. But when there isn't any trace, what can they do? The family must feel extremely let down, and as far as the initial lack of anything like an Amber Alert goes I think they have a right to feel that way, this should have been classified as two vulnerable under-18s due to Diamond's condition and mental age. But the police only have so many resources and if there are no leads, they can't continue the searches indefinitely, and it's not fair, but it is reality.
i think the case you might be refering to is that of baby sabrina aisenberg
another case to add to my list of cases i wish could be solved: sabrina, jaliek rainwalker, diamond and king among others
