Cheers, blondy. I have no real idea why I'm so glued to this case other than my daughter was recently Dominique's age and the thought of losing her, let alone in such a way, just is unthinkable. Maybe too because I do believe there's more victims of this man out there, dead or otherwise.
I am not sure the three 'strangled' victims mentioned above are his handiwork, however. Aside from there being multiple possible perps for those (at least two of them definitely were working girls, one with a violent ex, and there were other killer/s in Indiana killing those at the time), we should keep in mind that there was a knifing case also, for which the charges were dropped - and we don't know why. He's also had armed robbery convictions and weapons charges against him, so I think it's a mistake to focus on strangulation as a "signature" - also, to assume that he confined his victim pool to black women.
In fact, it seems the victims we know about are either quite young, or older and white. There was the rape of the 8yo when he was 15, and Dominique was only 15 and quite petite. Then Sandra's murder, for which he was acquitted due to a technicality.
If I am looking at the right family, this guy's folks are pretty much all crackheads and other assorted criminals. Not pretty. I need to make sure it's the right family before I say anything more on them, though. Two of his girlfriends I've tracked down have prostitution and drug charges, among other things.
The way he bound that poor girl was an act of sadism. That was just for his own viewing pleasure, the sick freak. If there's a pattern to his crimes at all, I'd look for that sort of thing. Possibly the burning too, but that's not even a complete thought until another burned victim shows up. But the binding - yeah. That was him enjoying his power. He'd have done that before, for sure.
