I find it grotesque that Chloe's parents think that it is their right to have charges dropped against the person responsible for their child's death. Children have rights. 'Children's rights are a subset of human rights with particular attention to the rights of special protection and care afforded to minors.' Basic to children's rights is the right to life. Chloe has been deprived of her life. It was HER life. Her life did not belong to her parents and they do not have the right to forfeit it, give it away, to discard it. She was not their property, she was her own, separate person. Nor is it their right to excuse the person who deprived her of life. They may forgive that person in their hearts-but they may not excuse him from the legal consequences of his actions.

I wonder if a dust for his fingerprints were taken around that window.

I’m intrigued with the tag thingy he has pinned to him, is it a special pass for him as an investigator?
The ship is on the ocean so did they take a cruise for this?

Here are 4 RCC sea passes.
He might’ve had it in his pocket but the special label he has pinned on him has me curious, maybe it’s a legal pass.

This is my below elbow to my fingers to the glass.
If I were to stand further up to the rail and bend in, it’s obvious my hand would go well beyond the glass at least another 6”.
I was leaning back to take the photo.

Whos eyes are these ***** trying to pull the wool over.
I hope LE are reading our WS.
I’ll swim from Australia to be on that jury no problem.
No bias just facts!!

Only One Open Window? When?
The video clearly shows a number of open windows.
@justbreathe :) Not sure which vid the post refers to, but seems numerous vids I've seen show more than one open window.
Complaint, page 8, paragraph 21, w bbm
: "21. An inspection of the scene after the subject incident revealed that all the glass panes around the single open pane of glass were closed and that this was the only single pane, among dozens of panes, that was slid completely open." bbm

So, exactly when was this "inspection" after the subject incident conducted? Two minutes? Two hours? 24 hours? It would only take a few minutes to open or close a dozen windows, imo. So allegation, even if proven, does not particularly support plaintiff's case, at least without knowing when inspection took place.

And who conducted this inspection? Seems likely imo that RCL surv cams have vid of all the windows on thi deck and will show if The Single Pane was the only one "slid completely open." jmo.

There were other open windows because a woman ran over and looked out of the adjoining window, she did not open it, she looked out.

No wool being pulled over our eyes Mr W.

RCL Cruisers: In Port, How Does RCL Summon Passenger? And Why?
My theory is the cruise staff found the rest of the fam and SA went to go get KW and said “I’ll watch her, go take care of xyz.”
@justbreathe :) A question for our cruisers, esp. the RCL cruisers --- In port, how does RCL summon passenger? Cell? Communication line to cabin?
Specifically, Complaint, page 3, paragraph 12 "12. At or around 3:50 p.m., Mrs. Schultz Wiegand needed to go help with an issue related to the cruise..." Does not say she was "summoned."
Maybe no summons
?
Is it possible, nobody summoned KS-W or anyone in the group, that perhaps at check-in/boarding, that RCL employee said, after you have settled in, later this afternoon, at your leisure, come to the [blank area] to check w us about [blank, for ex., how we'll deliver & pick up crib daily or how you dispose of diapers, etc.].

Or maybe not related to Chloe?
Maybe a hiccup w credit card authorization ( or dietary/food preference/food allergy issue, etc? Not at all likely imo, but I am not a cruiser). What else would KS-W got to office for?

Or maybe she did not go to office. Complaint does not say "office." Maybe needed/wanted a nap or alone time? Or?

Cell phones work at the port, so anyone from their party could communicate.
You can call between rooms or call a room from any one of the phones around the ship. It’s usually the deck and room number to dial.
I’ve never been summoned but the room attendant puts the cruising itinerary outside or inside the rooms.
If there is an emergency they call ALPHA ALPHA ALPHA.
Muster might have been around that time.

It might have been a missing bag or a cot for Chloe.

I’m actually getting fed up with the lies. If we can prove these things then imagine what RCC have cocked & loaded.

Also if PR drop these charges I’m sure many will be furious but unfortunately not enough to revolt or protest.

I'm Diamond Plus on Royal Caribbean and I've never been "summoned" to the desk as in drop everything and go. If they needed something from me, they'd leave a message on my room's phone. If I needed to go to the desk to resolve the matter, I'd go in my own time.

I think they mean he stood alone looking out the window for 30 seconds. I think he hoisted her from the floor then immediately thrust her forward to look out the obviously opened window.
He looks out for 8 seconds, picks her up, then holds her for over 30 seconds before letting go of her and dropping her.

I believe that they purposely chose this doll because it is so slim-if they had used a doll with the actual proportions of a toddler, it clearly could NOT have stood in a closed window. Nor could Chloe have stood there with the window closed. And God help us, who stands a toddler on a window sill, open OR closed?? Even if they had been one story up and the window shut, a bad injury could have resulted from falling backward.

That the parents would accept this joke of a re-enactment as “evidence” especially with their chosen occupations reflects quite poorly on their personal characters as well as adhering to professional standards and ethics in their work IMO. It would not have passed muster at the elementary school science fairs I have attended. Denial is one thing but this?

Quoted for emphasis! I wish I could like this a million times.

Dirty Windows on Ship.?
@Pammi :) sbm bbm I wonder if windows -- on embarkation day- would be freshly cleaned. If so, maybe not a reason for SA to pick her up.

Embarkation day is a typical time when those windows would be cleaned. Not sure how regularly they do it. Might not be every cruise cycle.

In the cctv footage, the camera from behind there is at least one other fully open window visible when CW falls so the plaintiffs motion is incorrect. Any number of people could have opened and closed windows in the chaos that went on once everyone realized what happened. The video is clear however.

You've expressed my feelings beautifully as well. Crisis reveals character, and we sure are seeing what little integrity the Wiegands have. Hyper-entitled, the world owes us everything. They have openly encouraged PR LE to violate their own ethical standards in demanding they drop a HOMICIDE charge, just because it makes the Wiegands uncomfortable. A level of hypocrisy rarely seen.

By far the most bizarre, revolting aspect of the parents' behavior is their immediate and intense rejection of ANY repercussions for Anello. None. It's as if he killed the family goldfish. It's almost as if they have forgotten who Chloe was.

I wonder about AW's true feelings. Clearly the wife is running the show. Chloe was his only biological child, right? So here comes his mother-in-law's boyfriend, zero blood relationship to anyone, he carelessly drops your only child 11 stories to a concrete dock. And AW is perfectly fine with the "It's OK, Sam didn't mean it" blow-off?

Typixally, unless you’re a high status passenger you would simply be directed to go to guest services to deal with any issue. If she had already addressed something with GS she may have gotten a call on her cell from a staffer to return to GS and finish dealing with whatever the issue was. Could be any number of things. Highly doubt a crew member came and sought her out. Embarkation is a very busy time onboard. Most crew members are very occupied with their regular duties and wouldn’t be looking for specific passengers random places around the ship.
