GUILTY IN - Kamie Ratcliff, 27, Mitchell, 18 Jan 2016

This is the town I grew up in. Unfortunately, it's been over taken with meth and heroin. I was there visiting family during the holidays and mentioned to my mom that 75% of the people I saw were obviously on one or the other. They've recently declared a health emergency due to needle use and hepatitis running rampant.

Is the residence very isolated? No close neighbors? I ask because, and forgive me if this is upsetting, burning a human body smells really bad. Really really bad, and for quite a long time (hours, if not a day). I don't understand how they could burn her down to where only bones are left and nobody noticed that smell.

Horrific case. RIP Kamie.
The house is on a two lane state highway, so not so secluded. However, it is a mostly rural community and not uncommon to see bonfires in backyards. The houses are not that close together but you can definitely see your neighbors.

This is sad.
There was a big problem with meth here in Colorado where I live, back in the 1990's and early 2000's. Now there is a growing heroin problem here.

I read about the drug issues in Indiana. It's sad that it has gotten to this extent.

IMOO.

In this missing flyer for Kamie from January 27th, it mentioned that she was seen in a surveillance video on the 18th in an older maroon SUV as a passenger, in Mitchell.

I wonder if this is Lincoln and Jasmine Pickett's vehicle?

Also, the flyer stated that she has four children.

Four children that will forever be without their mom.
Prayers to her children and family.
God Bless!
RIP Kamie!!

I saw it mentioned, early on, that she left her baby with friends...wonder if it was this couple?

Thank you for that! In that case someone must have smelled something. Maybe thought nothing much of it though/coouldn't be bothered/didn't want to get into trouble etc?

And how did she die? Neither on of them were charged with her death. So atrange

But they cannot charge everything until they have a positive I'd and cause and manner of death from the ME.

I will never believe or understand how or why someone would claim to destroy a human body because of an accidental death!

So very sad!!

:rose: R.I.P. Kamie :rose:

I personally do not believe the accident or suicide theories at this time; I will reserve judgment until the ME makes his/her opinion known.

Drug deal gone bad or perhaps she knew something they did not want her to tell?

I think it was some sort of a drug deal...maybe Kamie owed them money and she didn't have it so he shot her...IMO - he looks like he's strung out for sure!

:rose: RIP Kamie - I feel so sorry for your children.

I wonder if Drugs will somehow be involved in this case.

I imagine if there was blood in their vehicle from Kamie, luminol would uncover that.

Like you mentioned, they wanted to get rid of evidence.
Was she sexually assaulted?
Was she drugged?
Was she murdered?
IMOO.

Yeah, maybe drug deal gone bad or maybe an affair and was busted or confronted.

The local paper just published breaking news that a witness came forward and said that Pickett told the witness that "he shot a girl in the face". The paper is subscription only but I can copy and paste if that's allowed. Just let me know. It outlines exactly what they believe happened and everything the witness (a relative of Pickett) said.

Found this on a local FB page:

.......However, Wednesday, officers spoke with a relative of Lincoln Pickett's who said she had not seen him in about six months. He suddenly appeared at her house on the morning of Jan. 22, driving his red Blazer, according to another probable cause affidavit filed in court this afternoon outlining why the murder charge was added early this morning.
"Lincoln claimed he had not slept or ate in two weeks, and he was pacing and bouncing," the court paperwork states. "(The relative) reported that Lincoln had a Taurus gun in his pocket" that he then gave to the relative. "(The relative) then reported that Lincoln said that he shot a buddy in the face and then Lincoln told (the relative) that the girl he shot was in his Blazer."
Lincoln then told the relative that he, the girl and Jasmine were going for a ride when the girl hit Lincoln in the head a couple of times, so he shot her in the face. Lincoln asked the relative to borrow a vehicle. The relative then drove to Lincoln's house, the paperwork reports. On the way there, while stopped at a gas station, the relative saw blood splattered on the driver's side rear window of the Blazer. The relative continued to Lincoln's house, and upon arrival, Lincoln backed the Blazer into his garage.

I think I remember seeing that the Picketts told police she left the baby with them. As far as I know the baby has been placed in her family's care.

The Pickett's have 3 children together. Ratcliff had 4, with the youngest being 9 months :(

Sounds like Drugs to me!!

Shot in the face? What a piece of work!!

So the relative kept the gun and Lincoln asked to borrow a vehicle??

IMOO.

Can you link the facebook page? (As long as it isn't a private citizen's... Is it from LE or a MSM facebook page?)

This is tragic. The poor kiddos. How does this kind of thing even happen?
Vile and loathsome by nature and addled by drugs?
