GUILTY IN - Kegan Anthony Kline, 27, arrested Aug 29, 2020, 30 Counts associated with CSAM

  • #541
KK said authorities will not speak with him and he can’t get into the details. Their reason for this is because they can’t corroborate what he has told them.
There is more to it, I believe. Is it about an "untouchable" person and KAK doesn't dare to say the name or the whole truth?

In the Miami county courthouse for the Kegan Kline sentencing hearing. I’m told Kline spent the night in the courthouse

Court clerk just announced there is a delay in starting the Kline hearing, no explanation offered or a time frame when it will start

Miami county prosecutors were just called out of the courtroom, Kline’s defense attorney was in the hallway a few minutes ago. Kline hearing was scheduled to begin at 9

M Kegan Kline hearing about to get underway, he just entered the courtroom

Kline attorney asking for a continuance, do to evidence and may consider withdrawing his plea.. prosecutors strongly disagree

Judge continues Kline sentencing hearing. Gives attorneys a week to file any motions. Hearing June 1

Judge has delayed Kline sentencing hearing, status hearing June 1

So, next in line will be KAK's letter to Murder Sheet about what he knows regarding Delphi. Perhaps it will read like fanfiction, but I'm intrigued nonetheless. We'll see if it ever happens.

He's a complainer and he's mad he got caught. He's going to try to go for the attention while he can.
Glad he got caught. Agree to we will see what happens.

All moo!

Murder Sheet explained that but I can't remember exactly what was said. I didn't even take notes because I came away with the notion that it wasn't important.

You may be able to find the answer in the podcast where they answer questions about the unsealed docs.

@TL4S One of his lawyers filed a motion to leave his case. That lawyer was at some point was associated with Achey's firm but is no longer accosiated with the firm; and even if he was, Achey is no longer associated with the case. So he was just saying I'm no longer involved with this case so don't include me in the list of those who are.

I know, what probation means, but I don't understand, why KAK has a probation officer (if he won't be on probation)?

I'm not sure what that "probation" means. Most the filings will include that "Miami County Probation Department" even when it's just going to the county prosecutor, so I don't necessarily think it means he has a probation officer at this point. I think these two filings are maybe to keep some of the evidence out of the public view (likely due to the nature of the crimes/juveniles), and the other looks like some kind of change to the pre-sentencing investigation. I'm not super well-versed with the court stuff though, if anyone else wants to weigh in?

KAK will probably be on probation sometime in the future so the court wants a report from them. It includes history of his crimes; I'm not sure what else is in it since I've never seen one.

IMO probation officers prepare the pre-sentencing reports that the court will use to determine, in part, what KK's punishment will be (see @FrostedGlass post below on what that is).

I wonder if there may be any cooperation on the Delphi case involved in the presentencing phase? I still think KAK had something to do in all that. AJMO

No he can’t be sentenced for something he wasn’t convicted of, no such thing as secret punishment just because some people think he might’ve got away with something. This sentencing pertains to the 25 charges only. IMO.

“While state and federal laws provide penalty ranges and sentencing guidelines for certain crimes, the judge typically relies on the pre-sentence report to fill in the gaps—to provide pertinent information about your specific circumstances and the context in which the crime was committed, to help determine how lenient or severe your sentence should be. To prepare this report, a probation officer assigned to your case will conduct a pre-sentence investigation, which usually consists of gathering pertinent documentation as well as a personal interview with you. The probation officer will ask for a range of personal information, such as family history, current family status, finances, history of substance abuse, prior criminal history and the circumstances surrounding the crime(s) for which you are convicted. You are required by law to answer these questions thoroughly and honestly or face additional penalties, but it is also an opportunity to better your chances for leniency by including any/all positive information that relates to your situation, such as character statements from friends and family, proof of employment (and good references from employers), or enrollment in counseling or treatment, if applicable.”
