I just can't help but wonder if one of the people that is helping in the search is also the person responsible for her being missing.

Are there old barns and what not on private property that you know HAVEN'T been looked into because the owner either isn't around or the buildings sits way back off the main road ?

If she was abducted, I just feel like her SUV would be fairly close to town, but hidden from view.

I have heard of several cases where the abductors have participated in the search party.

Creepy, care to share specifics? I'm curious now.

This seems like an abduction to me. Makes me think of that case where the woman went missing after leaving a club/bar, still unsolved I believe. Can't remember who that was.

Just got back into town and was notified of Kristy's case. Finished reading, and I see this one is clear as mud.

How far out has this case reached?

So good to see you, sarx!

Lol, wish I could. At this juncture I am just trying to get a handle on the SAR efforts as well as the information feed. Specifically wondering about how far out flyers have gone to places where her car could be/have been seen (rail, bus, malls, walmarts, parking structures, parks, natioanl forests, etc)

For those local, it appears there have been a ton of car and atv searches along roadsides but not a lot actually on foot, is this correct?

  • #567
I would definitely caution against assuming that if the car went off the road it would have been found by now (unless we are talking flat open fields). We have had several in the last year not found for weeks some over a month, and some were within 20 ft of the road. Though I do not know the terrain or brush out there, but it always surprises me how easy they are to miss.

I have to wonder about that..im really curious about that "small dispute" and i never see them post anything in the help KK FB,just the one post of the pics from that night.

I've seen the girl (from the couple that was with KK that night) post on the fb search page. She has also posted on her personal page about how tired and distraught she is from crying and searching. But not the guy. His fb page is private but some stuff shows up and I have not seen him share the photos of Kristy to get the word out. I have always felt we need to know more about him, the cleaning guy and the family friend who is providing the home base for searchers.

Off the top of my head the two boys who were abducted near st louis and were found alive. Shawn hornbeck was one of the boys.

I believe i also have seen it on some of the 4 hour shows.

Sorry Micheal Devlin may have helped search for other missing children
children. This was all i could find, i thought he had helped search for shawn as well though.

"Meanwhile, Missouri authorities said they are looking into the possibility that Michael Devlin, 41, may have also monitored -- or even participated in -- a 2005 search for another missing child in order to learn police investigative techniques in such situations.

Lincoln County detective Chris Bartlett said Devlin was, at the very least, aware of the search for Bianca Noel Piper, 13, who disappeared in March 2005.

"Whether he was a part of it, in it, or in the middle, or just watching from afar, he absolutely knew what was going on," Bartlett said. "I certainly believe Michael Devlin was monitoring our search and the disappearance of Bianca Piper."

CVS printed 2000 flyers for free and I know those have all been posted. They are everywhere in town and all over Evansville. Also Evansville has huge digital billboards up with her information. I know flyers have gone out to Louisville and Indianapolis as well. I'm not sure about St. Louis. Indy, Chicago, Nashville, and Louisville have also been covering it on their local news and so are all the radio stations.

As far as foot searches, I do think there have been a lot done but I hadn't seen organized ones with a large group of people working a grid.

I did see a cop this morning very early in the square with a group of people . Not sure what that was about. I assumed they were a search team. They've also had dogs out all through town for the last week , but I don't know of they took them out beyond city limits.

I do think the cops here are working their butts off on this. They are trying to investigate every lead and have been right there with the search group every day.

I am reminded of the Holly Fischer of Charlotte, NC case I followed here on WS in May 2013. IMO an accident could have easily happened at that time of night without any one noticing and without much evidence visible from the road.

The car went off the east side of N.C. 16 North where there is a 30-foot-wide opening between the end of a metal guardrail and a light pole about 150 feet north of the former Moonshine Inn tavern and a few hundred feet south of the Jumping Off Place cliffs along N.C. 16.
To have done this, the car had to have gone straight off the road instead of turning left in a curve while being driven northbound up the mountain.
An N.C. Highway Patrol spokesman and others at the scene said there was no evidence of the car’s brakes being applied on N.C. 16, an asphalt parking lot or grass before it went down the embankment.

I could definitely see that the person responsible would help with the search, especially if he had a tie to her before her disappearance. This is a small town and someone who isn't helping who should be (friend, relative, co-workers, etc) would definitely be noticed.

That girl went off a cliff though, right? There aren't any cliffs around here. It's flatter than a pancake.

I'm not ruling anything out. It just doesn't make sense to me that she would be heading towards home and then spontaneously decide to turn around and drive the other direction out of town in the middle of nowhere, when she had to work in a few hours.

I still wonder if she turned around to get her phone. I would have totally left my phone (I do it all the time) and I would have been paranoid enough to turn around and go get it in case the manager/bartender hadn't left yet.

Thanks Azureine.

I have not followed every post closely buy have been casually following along. From a search perspective, because her car has not been found, I think it is a possibility she may be out there somewhere injured and time is critical if she is in her vehicle injured. Are there any bodies of water, even small type cricks or streams? I understand she had been drinking(?) and wonder if she headed into an unknown destination for reasons still unknown. I may not be clear but hope you get my line of thought. I could beway off.

There was a local case here where a vehicle went of the road between a narrow guardrail opening and into a narrow body of water-there were witnesses during daylight hours but later when I drove by I could not for the life of me see how a minivan could have gone in in that location. This was a flat, straight, stretch of roadway and the water was not much distance below the road level.

Another case was 2 boys traveling from Charlotte, NC to Myrtle Beach SC late at night. Jake Z. and Ray P. Cue was involved in locating them.

There are many bodies of water, though not many close to the roads in Warrick Co. As for rivers, there is the Ohio which is pretty close but it's a good 45 minutes to a bridge. I'm not sure that Newburgh has a bridge. That is closer but seems an odd place to go at 2 am. I guess you never know! I think many of us hope it was an accident and she's still alive and can be rescued. Some of the other alternatives are unthinkable. :(

I need to go back to the beginning and read through again closer, follow news reports, maps and get a better feel for any and all events.
Until then I am keeping the Faith for Kristy!
